Drug delivery device with unidirectional coupling
A drug delivery device is provided having a housing, a lead screw that is rotatably fixed with respect to the housing during dose setting and during dose delivery and that is axially moveable in a delivery direction relative to the housing for dose delivery, a number sleeve threadedly engaged with the housing to be screwable relative to the housing, and a dial link which is axially moveable and rotatable with respect to the housing for dose setting and which is prevented from rotation with respect to the housing for dose delivery. The dial link is rotatably fixed with the number sleeve when the dial link and the number sleeve are in a first arrangement, and the number sleeve and the dial link are rotatable with respect to one another when the dial link and the number sleeve are in a second arrangement.
Syringe Plunger Stopper for High Dose Accuracy Drug Delivery
A plunger stopper (12) configured for attachment with a plunger rod (14) for use with a within a syringe barrel for high dose accuracy drug delivery. The stopper having a first portion (40) formed from a first material and a second portion (42) formed from a second material, wherein the second material has a greater rigidity than the first material and wherein the second portion is configured to be attached to a plunger rod. The second material can be in the form of an insert (44) which functions to reduce the amount of distortion of the stopper during use, reduce air bubble size variation from fill to fill, maintain a seal with the inner wall of the syringe barrel with lower contact pressure in a resting state and reduce the amount of hysteresis of the stopper. The stopper can be adapted for use with infusers, pens, and other types of auto-injectors.
MEDICINE ADMINISTERING SYSTEM INCLUDING INJECTION PEN AND COMPANION DEVICE
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for administering a medicament to a patient. In one aspect, a system includes an injection pen device in wireless communication with a mobile communication device. The injection pen device includes a housing including a chamber to encase a cartridge containing medicine, a dose setting and dispensing mechanism to set the mechanism to dispense a particular dose of the medicine from the loaded cartridge, a sensor unit to detect a dispensed dose based on positions and/or movements of the dose setting and dispensing mechanism, and an electronics unit in communication with the sensor unit to process the detected dispensed dose and time data associated with a dispensing event and to wirelessly transmit the dose data to a user's device. The mobile communication device provides a software application to provide the user with health information using the processed dose data.
Drive assembly for drug delivery system
A drive assembly for a drug delivery system includes a plunger member configured to engage and move a stopper within a container, with the plunger member having a first position and a second position axially spaced from the first position, a leadscrew configured to move the plunger member from the first position to the second position, and a biasing member configured to bias the leadscrew in a rotational direction, where rotational movement of the leadscrew is configured to move the plunger member from the first position to the second position.
Needle array device
A needle injection array can comprise a plurality of needles that are fluidly interconnected via a fluid manifold. The fluid manifold can be configured to direct fluid from a syringe to arrive at tips of the needles approximately simultaneously. The fluid manifold also be configured to provide approximately equal dosage or fluid volume through each of the needles to an injection site.
MEDICAL DEVICE
A medical device is disclosed, which includes: an operation reception unit; a position acquisition unit capable of acquiring position information of a detection target that is in contact with or proximity to the operation reception unit, the position information being based on a position on the operation reception unit; and a control unit that identifies an operation input by the detection target based on a change in the acquired position information.
Cap assembly for a drug delivery device and drug delivery device
A cap assembly (200) for a drug delivery device is presented. The cap assembly (200) comprises a fixing element (134) with a connection feature (154), an outer part (130) with an opening (164), and an inner part (131) being located inside of the outer part (130), the inner part (131) further comprising a corresponding connection feature (170), wherein a section of the fixing element (134) extends through the opening (164) of the outer part (130), such that the fixing element (134) is connected to the inner part (131) by an interaction of the connection feature (154) and the corresponding connection feature (170).
Dosage Verification System and Method for Safety Syringe
A dosage verification system for use prior to administering an injection of a medicinal fluid drawn into a medical syringe, the system comprising a medical syringe having a barrel with an outwardly facing, flat indicia display surface, plunger having a plunger seal disposed inside and slidably engaging an inwardly facing wall of the barrel and a plunger handle projecting rearwardly from the barrel, and a hypodermic needle projecting forwardly from the barrel, all in combination with an imaging device configured to view and selectively capture, store or transmit a digital image of the plunger position relative to the barrel when a dose of the medicinal fluid is drawn into the fluid chamber of the barrel prior to an injection to verify and provide a record of the dosage drawn, and to alert a user prior to injection when an incorrect dosage is drawn into the fluid chamber of the syringe.
