Fluid delivery device and method

A fluid delivery injector comprises a syringe defining a barrel; a plunger and a hollow needle provided within the barrel adapted for linear movement parallel to a longitudinal axis with a distal tip of the needle contained within the syringe. A fluid retention reservoir is defined at least in the barrel and is in fluid communication with the needle when pressure is applied to the fluid in the reservoir and to the plunger for moving the needle out of the barrel. A spring may be provided for retracting the needle when pressure is released from the plunger.

METHODS, COMPOSITIONS, AND DEVICES FOR DRUG / LIVE CELL MICROARRAYS
20200230081 · 2020-07-23 ·

This invention discloses methods and composition to form biodegradable polymer implant arrays in the live tissue. Artificial cavities are created in the live tissue by using laser ablation, oscillating needle, microneedle array and other methods. The cavities are then filled with biodegradable polymer solution. The solvent in the polymer solution is dissipated in the tissue to form a biodegradable polymer implant in artificial cavities. The cavities and implants formed are arranged to form of an array of implants. The biodegradable polymer in the cavity can also be loaded with drug to form biodegradable drug delivery array in the live tissue.

Needle changing apparatus

A needle changing device for use on a medication delivery device includes an engagement element that is configured to engage the medication delivery device and pierce a septum of the medication delivery device, a needle holder connected to the engagement element, the needle holder having a needle changing septum having a reservoir, the reservoir being in continuous fluid communication with the engagement element, and a plurality of needles configured to pierce the needle changing septum, wherein when the needle holder is in a first position, the plurality of needles are disengaged from the reservoir of the needle changing septum, and when the needle holder is in a second position, one of the plurality of needles enters into fluid communication with the reservoir of the needle changing septum and is partially exposed outside the needle changing device for medicament delivery.

Collagen stimulation device and methods

Device for safely and precisely causing micro-injuries to the dermis to stimulate collagen production a skim remodeling. Specifically, needles on the device pierce the epidermis and basal cell layer into the dermis. The device incorporates safety features for the operator to be able to operate the device with one hand while keeping the other had free during procedures. Additionally, the device incorporates single use safety controls to help prevent cross contamination between patients.

Microneedle-based pen device for drug delivery and method for using same

A system and method is provided for an injectable substance delivery pen comprising a microneedle hub assembly removably engaged with a pen device body which includes a cartridge, a plunger, and a drive mechanism. The hub assembly includes at least one microneedle for intradermal or shallow subcutaneous injection of the contents of the cartridge. The cartridge, plunger and drive mechanism components of the pen body are fabricated of non-compliant and non-compressible materials to allow effective communication of the cartridge contents via the microneedle patient interface.

Injection instrument

Methods and compositions are for preparing microimplant arrays for sustained drug delivery or live cell based therapy. The array in array (AIA) device enables formation of microimplant arrays without having tissue piercing elements to the microimplant. The methods and compositions are for solid state delivery of drugs, especially biologics drugs without forming a drug solution prior to injection. New methods and compositions are for preparing in situ arrays for sustained drug delivery or live cell based therapy. Tissue surface is first treated with laser drilling, microneedle array, mechanical drilling or other methods to create artificial micro-porosity of various sizes, shapes and patterns. The artificial pores created are then infused with sustained drug delivery compositions or live cell suspensions. The compositions are converted into solid or semisolid state by physical or chemical reaction/s to entrap drug or live cells. The entrapped drug or live cells provide local or systemic therapeutic benefit.
