METHODS AND DEVICES FOR VASCULAR ACCESS
A catheter assembly configured for use with a medical device is provided herein. The catheter assembly can comprise a catheter hub having an interior chamber and a valve located in the interior chamber. The valve can comprise a distal portion, a proximal portion, and a sidewall extending therebetween to define a valve interior. The valve can include a barrier layer having a concave shape that extends in the valve interior from the sidewall at the distal portion. The barrier layer can have at least one slit extending therethrough that is in a normally closed configuration to prevent a fluid from passing through the barrier layer. The catheter assembly can further comprise a sealing ring located circumferentially at a distal end of the valve distally to the barrier layer. The sealing ring can form a seal between the valve and the interior chamber at the distal end.

CATHETER ASSEMBLY HAVING COUPLEABLE PORTIONS AND METHODS OF USE
A catheter assembly includes a flexible catheter having a lumen, a hub having a body including a proximal end and a distal end, the body defining a passageway extending from the proximal end to the distal end, the hub being coupled to one end of the catheter, and the passageway of the hub being in fluid communication with the lumen of the catheter, and a coupler including a base coupleable to and detachable from the hub, the base being coupled to at least one introducer assembly, each of the at least one introducer assembly including a port, a tubing and a hollow needle.
CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A catheter assembly including a catheter carried by a catheter adapter, a needle having a sharp distal tip and disposed in the catheter such that in a first needle position, the needle extending beyond the catheter, a septum actuator having openings, the septum actuator disposed in the catheter adapter and configured to pierce a septum, and a spring clip disposed in the septum actuator and engaging the openings of the septum actuator in the first needle position.
Cannula tip protector
Provided herein is a cannula tip protector assembly for a Luer type syringe having a Luer connector with a syringe needle having a first diameter, and a needle tip having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, the needle tip is attached in fluid communication to the syringe needle at an end of the syringe needle opposite the Luer connector, a protection sleeve slidably positioned over the syringe needle and needle tip, and a cannula tip protector actuator unit having a Luer connector attachment part and a protection sleeve connector, the cannula tip protector actuator unit arranged to move the protection sleeve from a first position in which the needle tip is covered by the protection sleeve to a second position in which the needle tip is exposed outside the protection sleeve.
SAFETY CANNULA ASSEMBLY
A safety cannula assembly, comprising: a cannula configured to puncture human or animal tissue, wherein the cannula includes a distal end portion including a tip; a sliding body including a distal end portion connected to the cannula and a proximal end portion connected to a flexible tube, wherein a flow connection extends through the sliding body between the tip of the cannula and a proximal end of the flexible tube; a main body in which the sliding body is displaceable from an operating position, where the tip is located outside the main body to a safety position, where the tip is located inside the main body, wherein a stop surface of the sliding body contacts a stop surface of the main body in the safety position, so that further axial displacement of the sliding body relative to the main body in the proximal direction is prevented.
ACCESS DEVICE
The present invention is a simple-to-use access device with a safety feature. A catheter advancer (30) is slidably and rotatably integrated with a base (10) to guide advancement of a catheter (50) linearly along the insertion path of a needle (60) and catheter (50). The catheter advancer (30) engages the base (10), catheter (50) and needle (60) and both sequences and delimits relative movement between the base (10), catheter advancer (30), catheter assembly (50) and needle (60). The access device stabilizes and guides the critical needle insertion and catheter advancement steps of a complication-prone and very common procedure.
Puncture visualization device and method
A puncture visualization device can include a guidewire having a proximal section, a distal section, and a distal tip. The device can include a needle having a needle lumen configured to receive the guidewire. The device can include a lock, and the lock can engage with the guidewire. For instance, engagement of the lock with the guidewire can inhibit relative motion between the guidewire and the needle. The device can include an optical sensor, for example located at the distal tip of the guidewire. The optical sensor can be locked into a position, for instance by the lock. In an example, the device provides a distal field of view from a location within the needle and near a distal end of the needle for visualization to facilitate puncturing a target with the distal end of the needle.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR VASCULAR ACCESS
Methods and devices to facilitate positioning of a catheter into a vessel. Devices include axially concentric assemblies of a piercing needle and a dilator that guides an outer catheter into a vessel, such as a blood vessel. The assemblies described herein can include retraction mechanisms and/or lock mechanisms to control needle positioning during catheterization processes as well as improved valves that prevent leakage of fluid from the proximal end of the devices. The devices and method include the use of novel valves to prevent undesired leakage of fluids through the proximal end of the catheter.
INTRAVENOUS NEEDLE ASSEMBLY HAVING BLOOD DISPENSING CAPABILITIES
A needle assembly can include a needle and a proximal compartment forming a reservoir for collecting blood that flows through an inner lumen of needle. The needle assembly may also include a needle tip shield for capturing a sharpened distal tip of the needle. The needle tip shield can form a fluid pathway through which blood contained within the reservoir is expelled. The volume of the reservoir can be reduced to cause blood to be expelled from the needle tip shield such as by compressing the proximal compartment or a plunger connected to the proximal compartment or by moving a plunger into the reservoir. The fluid pathway of the needle tip shield can either be the same pathway through which the sharpened distal tip is withdrawn into the needle tip shield, or can be a separate pathway.
