Peripheral intravenous catheter with winged grip
A PIVC includes a catheter adapter having a catheter that extends distally from the catheter adapter, and an introducer needle that inserts through the catheter. The introducer needle has a grip component at a proximal end of the introducer needle. The grip component extends outwardly and distally to form a winged grip adjacent the catheter adapter when the introducer needle is inserted within the catheter. The grip component can be rotatable within the catheter adapter to allow repositioning of the winged grip with respect to the catheter adapter.
INTRAVENOUS ACCESS ASSIST DEVICE WITH SAFETY FEATURE
The present invention is a simple-to-use IV placement assist device with an added safety feature. A catheter advancer is slidably integrated with a base to guide advancement of a catheter linearly along the insertion path of the needle and catheter. A safety feature is engaged by a movable component moving from a first position to a second position, such movable enabling relative movement between the base and catheter advancer and/or catheter assembly, rotation of the needle about its length axis, and/or minor advancement of the catheter assembly to sheath the tip of the needle. The IV placement assist device stabilizes and guides the critical needle insertion and catheter advancement steps of a complication-prone and very common procedure.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTIVELY ACCESSING AN INTERIOR LUMEN OF A PATIENT VESSEL
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for selectively accessing an interior lumen of a patient vessel include a needle. The needle has a needle body and a needle distal end. A first catheter has a first catheter body, defining a first catheter inner lumen, and a first catheter distal end. The first catheter inner lumen is larger in diameter than the needle body and the needle distal end. The first catheter distal end has a first catheter open tip. A second catheter has a second catheter body, defining a second catheter inner lumen, and a second catheter distal end. The second catheter inner lumen is larger in diameter than the first catheter body and the first catheter distal end. The second catheter distal end has a second catheter open tip. At least two of the needle, the first catheter, and the second catheter are selectively joined concentrically together.
CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A catheter assembly including a catheter hub being connectable to a device for the infusion or withdrawal of fluids; a hollow extension tube connected at its distal end to the catheter hub, the extension tube connectable at its proximal end to a device for infusing fluid into the chamber within the catheter hub; a valve assembly disposed within the chamber of the catheter hub having a first valve member and a second valve member preventing the flow of fluid through the chamber to or from the proximal end of the catheter hub. A needle guard assembly is also provided.
Intravenous needle assembly having blood dispensing capabilities
A needle assembly can include a needle and a proximal compartment forming a reservoir for collecting blood that flows through an inner lumen of needle. The needle assembly may also include a needle tip shield for capturing a sharpened distal tip of the needle. The needle tip shield can form a fluid pathway through which blood contained within the reservoir is expelled. The volume of the reservoir can be reduced to cause blood to be expelled from the needle tip shield such as by compressing the proximal compartment or a plunger connected to the proximal compartment or by moving a plunger into the reservoir. The fluid pathway of the needle tip shield can either be the same pathway through which the sharpened distal tip is withdrawn into the needle tip shield, or can be a separate pathway.
AXIAL ACTUATION MECHANISM FOR CATHETERS
A catheter system includes an outer catheter having an outer catheter shaft defining an outer catheter lumen. At least one inner member is arranged within the lumen. The at least one inner member is relatively movable to the outer catheter in an unrestricted moving state. An axial movement restriction device includes an actuation mechanism and a locking mechanism. The axial movement restriction device can restrict an axial movement of the at least one inner member in a restricted moving state compared to the axial movement in the unrestricted moving state.
CATHETER ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The needle protection cover of a catheter assembly is provided with: an inner cylinder; an outer cylinder capable of being axially displaced relative to the inner cylinder; a blocking body disposed in the inner cylinder in a displaceable manner; and a lock mechanism for restraining the blocking body at the position where the blocking body blocks an inner needle passage. As an inner needle is pulled out, the blocking body is pressed by contact sections formed on the outer cylinder, thereby being moved from an initial position to a blocking position, and the blocking body is held at the blocking position by the lock mechanism.
Safety Needle Device
A safety needle device is disclosed having a housing configured to couple to a syringe, the housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a housing body. A first guide path, a second guide path and a third guide path may be disposed on the housing body. A needle hub is disposed on the proximal end of the housing and a needle cannula is attached to the needle hub. The device having a retractable sheath configured to move between an initial position, a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the housing, wherein the initial position partially exposes a distal tip of the needle cannula, the retracted position fully exposes the needle cannula, and the extended position fully covers the distal tip of the needle cannula. The retractable sheath also may have a guide element. The first, second and third guide paths are configured to slidingly receive the guide element. The device also having a first locking member, a second locking member, a rotating cam disposed in the housing body, and a spring element to bias the retractable sheath to an extended state to cover the distal end of the needle cannula upon completion of an injection.
