Genderless Aseptic Connector
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, whereby the connector system includes a first coupler including a first coupler passageway disposed therein, and a first coupler elastically deformable valve operable to seal the first coupler passageway from the external environment. The connector system further includes a second coupler including a second coupler passageway disposed therein, and a second coupler elastically deformable valve operable to seal the second coupler passageway from the external environment.
The first and second couplers can be substantially identical; thus, the couplers can be genderless, as opposed to a connector system comprising male and female couplers.
The connector system can further include a first coupler valve operable to interrupt fluid flow through the first coupler passageway, and a second coupler valve operable to interrupt fluid flow through the second coupler passageway.
High pressure dome check valve
A check valve including an elastomeric valve element having a dome-shaped configuration that seals in its at-rest position occluding fluid flow in both directions. The dome-shaped elastomeric valve element is constructed in such a way to be deflectable, such as being activated by the external device such as a male luer whereupon the valve is cracked open to become a two-way valve allowing flow in both directions. The valve element may also be cracked open by sufficient fluid pressure in its inlet. The valve element is self-aligning. The dome-shaped of the valve element includes cut-outs for additional fluid flow, thereby streamlining flow while reducing the potential for air entrapment. The underside of the dome-shaped valve element also includes a thickened concave undersurface and thickened support legs to significantly increase the resistance to high backpressures, while also minimizing potential air entrapment.
Cross slit gasket for introducer sheath
A sheath introducer system including a sheath introducer defining a lumen therethrough and having a proximal valve housing in fluid communication with a distal tubular sheath, wherein a proximal end of the valve housing defines a proximal opening of the lumen of the sheath introducer. A gasket seated within the valve housing has a first surface, a second surface and an outer periphery extending between the first and second surfaces. A first slit is formed into the first surface having an inner surface defining a first gap. A second slit formed into the second surface having an inner surface defining a second gap. A notch extends into the first gap of the first slit forming a bump on the inner surface of the first slit, wherein the second slit intersects the first slit at the notch such that the notch prevents the first and second slits from being in fluid communication.
Bidirectional valve with improved threshold pressure accuracy
A bidirectional valve for medical use or the like provides different threshold opening pressures in different directions using a valve seat and flapper construction providing improved characterization in operation in contrast to cross-slit valves often used for bidirectional operation. A valve disk supported in a central annular region provides movable portions engaging in valve seats at a peripheral region and a central region.
BI-DIRECTIONAL, PRESSURE-ACTUATED MEDICAL VALVE WITH IMPROVED FLUID FLOW CONTROL AND METHOD OF USING SUCH
A bi-directional, pressure-actuated medical valve assembly for improved control of fluids and related methods of use are described. The pressure-actuated, bi-directional valve includes a first flow control portion permitting fluid to flow in a first direction when subjected to a first pressure threshold and a second control flow portion for permitting fluid to flow in a second direction when subjected to a second pressure threshold. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Medical pump with flow control
Methods and devices for accurately pumping small quantities of liquid to a patient with a broad range of flow and low cost.
VALVE WITH INTERNAL MEMBER
A valve with an internal member is disclosed which allows exhaled carbon dioxide to escape from a breathing circuit when the circuit gas pressure drops below a threshold pressure. The valve operates by occluding one or more ports under a relatively high pressure and opening the one or more ports under a relatively low pressure. The internal member is attached to the body of the valve at two or more locations on the internal member. The internal member moves in a direction perpendicular to the gas flow through the valve.
Needleless connector module
A needleless connector module comprises: a sleeve tube, an elastic valve, a flow guiding unit and an extension unit. The elastic valve sleeves a guiding tube of the flow guiding unit. A hollow shoulder portion of the elastic valve abuts a slanted retaining wall of the sleeve tube. Under a first usage condition, the hollow head portion of the elastic valve encloses the guiding tube narrow portion, hiding the first guiding opening in the airtight seam. Under a second usage condition, an injection tube presses the top face of the elastic valve, a hollow head portion of the elastic valve presses downward, driving the valve inner wall to abut a waist platform formed on the guiding tube, such that the first guiding opening is exposed outside the airtight seam, and such that the first guiding opening is connected to an injection opening of the injection tube.
BLOOD TREATMENT CASSETTE HAVING A DENTED FILM VALVE AND A BLOOD TREATMENT APPARATUS
The present invention relates to a blood treatment cassette having a cassette body, embodied as a hard part, and a film, wherein the film is connected with the hard part and covers the hard part at least partially, wherein the hard part comprises at least one valve seat or valve section or one valve base of a valve, wherein the valve is embodied to take, in addition to a first, open position of the valve in which the valve base and the section of the film positioned above it do not touch each other, a second, closed position of the valve when applying force on the section of the film and wherein the valve base, in its longitudinal extension, comprises or is a non-straight section. The present invention also relates to a blood treatment apparatus connected with a blood treatment cassette.
