The electrode assembly further includes a lead wire assembly including at least one insulating jacket positioned around a wire core. Optionally, the electrode assembly includes an insulating cup interconnecting the electrode and the insulating jacket.

MICROCURRENT-BASED SKIN TREATMENT AND PRETREATMENT TECHNIQUES
20230293886 · 2023-09-21 ·

A method includes applying one or more electrodes to the skin or skin surface of a subject, applying a voltage or current signal to the skin surface via one or more of the electrodes, and modulating the signal to maintain treatment efficacy, or so that the power output can be charge balanced, or both. An agent can be applied to the skin surface during a treatment period defined after the voltage or current signal is applied. Permeability of the skin to one or more components of the agent is enhanced or increased during the treatment period, responsive to the modulated power output. A device for performing the method is also provided.

The present disclosure provides devices and methods for delivering a biomolecule into a cell. A delivery device of the present disclosure includes a first reservoir, a second reservoir, a porous membrane comprising a nanopore, and two or more electrodes configured to generate an electric field across the porous membrane for delivery of a biomolecule present in the second reservoir through the nanopore of the porous membrane and into a cell present in the first reservoir.

Electrochemical reduction or prevention of infections

Treatment systems, devices, articles, and associated methods of operation for treating open wounds are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes applying a first material and a second material to be in contact with a surface of the open wound having a water content at the surface and applying a voltage differential to the first and second materials, thereby producing hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) at the surface via an electrochemical reaction between oxygen (O2) in air and water (H2O) in the water content at the surface. The voltage differential is calibrated to correspond to a concentration of the produced hydrogen peroxide in the water content effective in reducing or preventing a bacterial infection at the surface of the open wound.

Systems, apparatus, and methods are described for delivering a therapeutic substance to a target area within or proximate to a nasal cavity of a subject, including a reservoir configured to contain the therapeutic substance and a delivery interface by which the therapeutic substance is delivered to the target area. In some embodiments, systems, apparatus, and methods described herein can deliver a therapeutic substance using iontophoresis and/or electroosmosis.

A SYSTEM OF METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF HYPERHIDROSIS BY TAP-WATER IONTOPHORESIS AND ELECTROTHERAPY USING AN IMPROVED ELECTRODE
20220008721 · 2022-01-13 ·

In one embodiment of the present invention, a method and system for the safe use of a tap-water iontophoresis machine is provided. The method is based on the specific treated zone by establishing several different treatment safety parameters according to which treated body zone is selected, such as the hands, feet, or armpits. The system includes a microcontroller, a voltage measuring module, current measuring module, polarity inversion module, and an optional resistance measuring module. The microcontroller adjusts the treatment based on the following: (a) the profile selected; (b) the values embedded in the microcontroller that is associated to the profile selected; and, (c) the values measured by the different modules and the time kept by the microcontroller. By simply choosing the treated zone, the device automatically adjusts these parameters to better reflect the specific particularities of that zone and establish often narrower ranges of values and increase safety and comfort for the patient.
