Termination of a shield within an implantable medical lead
A shield located within an implantable medical lead may be terminated in various ways. The shield may be terminated by butt, scarf, lap, or other joints between insulation layers surrounding the lead and an insulation extension. For lap joints, a portion of an outer insulation layer may be removed and a replacement outer insulation layer is positioned in place of the removed outer insulation layer, where the replacement layer extends beyond an inner insulation layer and the shield. The replacement layer may also lap onto a portion of the insulation extension. The barbs may be located between the replacement layer and the inner insulation layer or the insulation extension. The shield wires have ends at the termination point that may be folded over individually or may be capped with a ring located within one of the insulation layers of the jacket.
WIRELESS ELECTRICAL STIMULATION SYSTEM
An electrical stimulation system and a method for controlling the electrical stimulation system are provided. The electrical stimulation system includes an electrical stimulation unit including at least one first fastener and an electrode pad configured to attach to the at least one first fastener via at least one second fastener located within the electrode pad, where the electrode pad includes at least one electrode. Further, the electrical stimulation system includes a controller remotely controlling the electrical stimulation unit to deliver electrical pulses to the electrode pad connected to the electrical stimulation unit.
Strain relief coupler and method
A lead body for implantation includes a first set of conducting sections, a second set of conducting sections, a strain relief coupler having a axial length with a plurality of tines extending along the axial length and extending radially thereby defining a plurality of axially-extending channels, a plurality of joints located within the plurality of channels, each joint coupling one conducting section from the first set of conducting sections to one conducting section from the second set of conducting sections, and an outer layer at least partially surrounding the first and second set of conducting sections, the plurality of joints and the strain relief coupler.
Electrodes and Method of Producing the Electrodes
An electrode includes a backing. The backing includes a first backing side and a second backing side. The backing has a planar surface and a portion of the backing forms a raised section on the first backing side and an indented section on the second backing side opposite the raised section. The indented section forms a cavity therein. Further, the backing is not electrically conductive. The electrode also includes an electrically conductive gel disposed at least partially within the cavity. The electrode further includes an eyelet penetrating the backing and electrically coupled with the electrically conductive gel. The electrode includes a stud adapted to detachably couple the electrode to a lead wire and configured to attach to the eyelet.
SKIN TREATMENT DEVICE USING RADIO FREQUENCY
The present invention provides a skin treatment device using radio frequency, the device including: a pair of electrodes including a first electrode and a second electrode and forming a bipolar electrode structure; an RF generation unit which has an output power of 100-500 W, and produces a radio frequency current of 4-15 MHz and supplies same to the first electrode and the second electrode so as to cause a discharge therebetween; a dielectric sheet on which the pair of electrodes is integrally formed and which is disposed to cover a skin portion to be treated, in a contact or non-contact type in the middle of a discharge path between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a cooling part including a nozzle for spraying a cooling fluid so as to cool the dielectric sheet.
ELECTROCONDUCTIVE RUBBER SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ELECTROCONDUCTIVE RUBBER SHEET
An electroconductive rubber sheet includes a sheet-shaped rubber base material having electrical conductivity and an electroconductive sheet embedded in the rubber base material. This electroconductive rubber sheet can be obtained according to a method for producing an electroconductive rubber sheet that includes, for example, a step of placing an electroconductive sheet and a sheet-shaped rubber material, which has electrical conductivity and an opening in a central portion of the sheet-shaped rubber material, on a mold and a step of pressing the electroconductive sheet and the rubber material at a temperature at which the rubber material is softened.
Conductive Member For Use In Radiofrequency Ablation
A conductive member such as conductive pad (1) for use in radiofrequency ablation, the conductive member being flexible so as to conform to a subject's skin, the conductive member comprising a conductive skin contact layer (5) arranged for contact with the subject's skin and a conductive layer (4) over the conductive skin contact layer, in which the conductive skin contact layer (5) and the conductive layer (4) are both conductive to DC electrical signals.
Terminal tool for continuous electrical monitoring during lead implant
A terminal tool includes a main body, an electrical connector body, and an electrical connector. The main body includes a distal clamping section and a shaft. The shaft includes a window and a first lumen extending through the shaft for receiving a terminal end of an implantable lead. The electrical connector body includes a second lumen and is independently rotatable with respect to the main body. The shaft at least partially extends through the second lumen. The electrical connector is coupled to the electrical connector body and extends at least partially through the window of the shaft.
Neurostimulation method for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic nociceptive pain in knee osteoarthritis
A method for treating chronic nociceptive pain of knee osteoarthritis comprising the steps of: placing a first set of electrodes in contact with the skin on the inner side of the knee on the path of the infrapatellar nerve; and generating a first electrical signal with a signal generator and applying said first signal to the first set of electrodes so as to produce external, i.e. non invasive, electrostimulation of the infrapatellar nerve of the knee.
PESSARY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PELVIC FLOOR LIGAMENT SUPPORT
A pessary system for providing pelvic floor support for USL and other ligaments. The pessary has an elongated probe with independently inflatable balloons each located substantially the same distance from the insertion end of the probe and which inflate into separate radial sectors. The probe can be inserted into a vaginal cavity and the balloons inflated provide mechanical support to the USLs. Independent inflation of each balloon allows the mechanical USL support provided to be varied on left and right sides to compensate for differences in the degree of degradation and positioning of the USL ligaments on either side.
