Lower back electrical stimulator
The electrical stimulation belt includes an electrical stimulator, a flexible substrate, a plurality of electrical connectors, a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of locators. The electrical stimulation is applied to the trunk or waist of a patient by the electrical stimulator belt through the placement of the plurality of electrical connectors in contact with the plurality of electrodes on the belt. A plurality of locators releasably fastened to the belt assist the user in locating the electrodes on the belt.
Methods and devices for activating brown adipose tissue using electrical energy
Methods and devices are provided for activating brown adipose tissue (BAT) using electrical energy. In general, the methods and devices can facilitate activation of BAT to increase thermogenesis. The BAT can be activated by applying an electrical signal thereto that can be configured to target sympathetic nerves that can directly innervate the BAT. The electrical signal can be configured to target the sympathetic nerves using fiber diameter selectivity. In other words, the electrical signal can be configured to activate nerve fibers having a first diameter without activating nerve fibers having diameters different than the first diameter. Sympathetic nerves include postganglionic unmyelinated, small diameter fibers, while parasympathetic nerves that can directly innervate BAT include preganglionic myelinated, larger diameter fibers. The electrical signal can be configured to target and activate the postganglionic unmyelinated, small diameter fibers without activating the preganglionic myelinated, larger diameter fibers.
Device and method for unattended treatment of a patient
An unattended approach can increase the reproducibility and safety of the treatment as the chance of over/under treating of a certain area is significantly decreased. On the other hand, unattended treatment of uneven or rugged areas can be challenging in terms of maintaining proper distance or contact with the treated tissue, mostly on areas which tend to differ from patient to patient (e.g. facial area). Delivering energy via a system of active elements embedded in a flexible pad adhesively attached to the skin offers a possible solution. The unattended approach may include delivering of multiple energies to enhance a visual appearance.
MUSCLE CONDITION MEASUREMENT SHEET
A pair of stimulating electrodes and a mechanomyography sensor come into intimate contact with a body surface of a muscle, appearing on a back surface of an insulating sheet and being spaced a predetermined distance apart; accordingly, an electrical stimulation position and a position to detect muscle sound are fixed, and the amplitude and frequency of an evoked mechanomyogram MMG can be quantitatively detected without depending on the electrical stimulation position and the muscle sound detection position.
Device and means to ameliorate discomfort and pain during breast cancer biopsies and similar procedures
A device and means to decrease the pain associated with cancer biopsies procedures The device uses anesthetic injections and electrical currents of both positive or negative polarity, or alternating current. The device can be incorporated into existing biopsiy devices. Application on breast cancer biopsies and other types of biopsies.
NASAL DISEASE TREATMENT AID DEVICE
The present invention provides a nasal disease treatment aid device, comprising: a nose cover which forms a dome so as to cover the nose of a user and covers the nose while being positioned on the nose of the user; a fixing member which is connected to the left and right sides of the nose cover and fixed to the head of the user so that the nose cover is fixed to the nose of the user; insertion members having, interposed therebetween, a support body provided in the inner space of the nose cover and extending outward from the left and right sides of the support body and are formed in tubular shapes each having a hollow inside that communicates back and forth so as to allow the user to breathe through the nostrils; LED light sources which are provided on one side of each of the insertion members and irradiate therapeutic light into the inside of the nose; and low-frequency stimulation units which are provided on each of the left and right sides of the nose cover and physically stimulate paranasal sinuses while in contact with the paranasal sinuses that are around the nose. Therefore, it is possible to provide necessary help for the treatment of rhinitis and paranasal sinusitis at the same time, and infrared treatment light of a corresponding wavelength using the LED light sources and heat treatment by radiation heat from the infrared light are carried out in parallel such that the resulting light and heat is propagated deep into a nasal cavity so as to be able to effectively improve blood circulation, thereby requiring a shorter treatment time and minimizing side effects such as skin rashes and so on caused by prolonged exposure to light and heat.
ELECTRODE SYSTEM FOR VISION TREATMENT AND METHOD
A system and method for electrical stimulation of the human body, and in particular, to systems and methods for electrode systems and signal delivery used in electrical-stimulation treatment, testing and monitoring of vision problems of a patient, analyzing the results of the treatments, and monitoring to determine, for example, whether a medical treatment for the patient needs to be continued and/or altered, wherein the design and placement of the electrode systems and adjustment of signals delivered to the electrodes facilitate adjustment of the geometry of signal flow through the tissues of the patient.
FUNCTIONAL PROTECTOR WITH ELECTRIC CONDUCTION AND HEAT CONDUCTION
The present disclosure discloses a functional protector with electric conduction and heat conduction including a body, a conductive cloth and at least one electrode connection part. The body is an elastic stretch cloth. At least one joint part is arranged on the body. The conductive cloth is arranged on one side of the body. A conducting wire and at least one electrode part electrically connected to the conducting wire are arranged on the conductive cloth. The electrode connection parts are arranged on the body, through the body and electrically connected to the conductive cloth. Moreover, the electrode connection part transmits signals onto the conductive cloth, so that the electrode part of the conductive cloth generates an effect of an electrotherapy or a thermotherapy, or both the electrotherapy and the thermotherapy simultaneously.
Pressure resistant conductive fluid containment
A conductive fluid reservoir can be used to dispense conductive fluid to increase electrical connectivity between an electrode of a defibrillator and a patient. The reservoir includes a container that holds the conductive fluid, one or more outlets on the container, and an inflatable pouch located at least partially within the container. The inflatable pouch is capable of being inflated from a deflated state to an inflated state. In the deflated state, a free end of the inflatable pouch covers the one or more outlets. In the inflated state, the free end of the inflatable pouch is removed from the one or more outlets such that the conductive fluid is allowed to flow out of the container via the one or more outlets. Inflating the inflatable pouch causes the conductive fluid to be dispensed from the reservoir.
Wearable cardiac defibrillation system with flexible electrodes
In embodiments, a wearable cardiac defibrillation (WCD) system includes one or more flexible ECG electrodes. The WCD system may have a support structure that is dimensioned to be worn so as to press the electrodes towards the body of the patient. The electrodes may be made from appropriate material so as to flex in order to match a contour of the body of the patient. An advantage over the prior art is that the flexible electrode may make better electrical contact with the patient's skin, and therefore provide a better ECG signal for the WCD system to perform its diagnosis.
