11491080 · 2022-11-08 ·

A system for generating stimulations in relation to medicines, and meridians, organs and tissues of a human body includes a control device, a pulse examining device and a stimulation device. Based on a pulsation signal obtained from a user, the stimulation device obtains a meridian-related spectrum. Based on operation input to the control device, the stimulation device obtains an organ-tissue-related spectrum and a medication-related spectrum. The stimulation device obtains a stimulation spectrum by making a linear combination of these spectrums, and stimulates a sensory system of the user based on the stimulation spectrum.

Reducing Electrosensation Whilst Treating A Subject Using Alternating Electric Fields
20230098801 · 2023-03-30 · ·

When treating a subject using alternating electric fields (e.g., using TTFields to treat a tumor), some subjects experience an electrosensation effect when the alternating electric field switches direction. This application describes a variety of approaches for reducing or eliminating this electrosensation. More specifically, during the course of treatment using alternating electric fields, additional electrical signals that reduce the subject's sensation are applied during each of a plurality of time intervals, and these additional electrical signals interact with the relevant nerve cells to reduce the sensations.

Systems and methods for the treatment of pain through neural fiber stimulation

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for the treatment of pain through activation of select neural fibers. The neural fibers may comprise one or more afferent neural fibers and/or one or more efferent neural fibers. If afferent fibers are stimulated, alone or in combination with efferent fibers, a therapeutically effective amount of electrical stimulation is applied to activate afferent pathways in a manner approximating natural afferent activity. The afferent fibers may be associated with primary receptors of muscle spindles, golgi tendon organs, secondary receptors of muscle spindles, joint receptors, touch receptors, and other types of mechanoreceptors and/or proprioceptors. If efferent fibers are stimulated, alone or in combination with afferent fibers, a therapeutically effective amount of electrical stimulation is applied to activate intrafusal and/or extrafusal muscle fibers, which results in an indirect activation of afferent fibers associated therewith.

Device and means to ameliorate discomfort and pain during visual inspections of inner body parts and similar procedures

A device and means to decrease the pain associated with colonoscopy and similar procedures to examine the oesophagus, the stomach, etc. The device uses electrical currents of both positive and negative polarity, or alternating current. The improvement described can be incorporated into existing bodies of existing devices. Application on colonoscopy screenings and intestine polyp collection and other types of biopsies.

The invention provides an EPG system and lead configuration which boasts both a novel optical folding assembly and compact package size. The percutaneous leads provided offer additional advantages over the prior art including integral formation of optical and electrical components in a compact size.

DEVICE AND METHOD TO SELECTIVELY AND REVERSIBLY MODULATE A NERVOUS SYSTEM STRUCTURE TO INHIBIT THE PERCEPTION OF PAIN

The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for selectively and reversibly modulating targeted neural and non-neural tissue of a nervous system for the treatment of pain. An electrical stimulation is delivered to the treatment site that selectively and reversibly modulates the targeted neutral- and non-neural tissue of the nervous structure, inhibiting the perception of pain while preserving other sensory and motor function, and proprioception.

METHOD OF OPERATIING AN ELECTRICAL STIMULATION DEVICE WITH TWO OR MORE STIMULATION ENERGY SUPPLIES, AND A STIMULATING DEVICE

Conventional devices deliver a degree of electrical charge into biological tissues; —to satisfy regulatory and safety concerns, measures are taken to maintain a zero-charge residual at the stimulation site.

Disclosed herein is a method of controlling electrical energy provided by a stimulation device to one or stimulation electrodes comprised in the device, the device including: a first stimulation electrode; a pulse energy controller for transferring electrical energy as one or more electrical stimulation pulses to the first stimulation electrode; the pulse energy controller further including two or more stimulation energy supplies for each supplying electrical energy substantially concurrently to the first stimulation electrode as a first pulse; and each supplying electrical energy separately to the first stimulation electrode as a second pulse.

A simpler, more accurate and less-expensive control of stimulation may be provided by considering each energy supply as an energy building block, which may be selected as required.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF PAIN WITH BODY IMPEDANCE ANALYZER
20230080790 · 2023-03-16 ·

A patient treatment unit and method analyzes and treats pain in tissues by applying an electrical pulse train to the affected tissue. The impedance of the affected tissue is measured, and the measured impedance is correlated to a level of pain in the patient. The pulse train is further applied in response to the measured impedance to reduce the patient's pain. The patient treatment unit includes a probe stimulus generator that outputs the pulse train. The treatment unit also includes a pair of probes for contacting the patient's body and receiving the pulse train. The pulse has improved shaping based on isolation of high voltage from a low voltage control. The unit further includes a body impedance analysis circuit that senses voltage and current via the probes when the probes are contacting the patient and observe the impedance. A monitor is electrically coupled to the body impedance analysis circuit and provides an indication of the measured impedance indicative of the patient's level of pain in real-time.
