METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ELECTRICAL CURRENT THERAPY OF BIOLOGICAL TISSUE
20210138241 · 2021-05-13 ·

A method and device for performing electrical current therapy on biological tissue. The device can operate continuously as a bio-energetic thermostat to continuously provide electrical current therapy, or based on sensing parameters and providing electrical current therapy only when the parameters indicate that the electrical current therapy is to be applied.

Systems and methods for mapping and modulating repolarization

This document describes methods and materials for mapping and modulating repolarization. For example, this document relates to methods and devices for mapping and modulating repolarization to target atrial and ventricular arrhythmias to deliver electrical stimulation pacing, ablation and/or electroporation.

System and method for stimulating the heart in combination with cardiac rhythm management pharmaceuticals
10549102 · 2020-02-04 · ·

Sensors are applied to the heart and sensor data is supplied to a rules engine. The rules engine applies rules that reflect a CRM pharmaceutical regime of the patient to the sensor data to determine whether an electrical waveform should be applied to the heart. When electrical stimulation is warranted, the drug awareness rules are used by the rules engine to instruct a multi-phase cardiac stimulus generator to generate an electrical waveform that improves the performance of the drugs administered to the patient, allow the patient to be administered a lower dose of a particular drug, and/or reduce or eliminate side effects from the drugs.

COMBINED IMPLANTABLE PULSE GENERATOR DEVICE

A method of treating a heart, the method including providing an Implantable Pulse Generator (IPG) adapted to provide a combination of at least two treatment modalities including Cardiac Contractility Modulation therapy and one more modality selected from a group consisting of Cardiac pacing, Cardioversion, Defibrillation, Cardioversion and Defibrillation, and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT), detecting a patient's physical condition, and selecting a combination of Cardiac Contractility Modulation therapy and at least one treatment modality from the group, and providing the combination of the Cardiac Contractility Modulation therapy and the at least one treatment modality. Related apparatus and methods are also described.

PROTEIN ACTIVITY MODIFICATION

A method of modifying tissue behavior, comprising: determining a desired modification of tissue behavior for at least one of treatment of a disease, short or long term modification of tissue behavior, assessing tissue state and assessing tissue response to stimulation; selecting an electric field having an expected effect of modifying protein activity of at least one protein as an immediate response of a tissue to the field, said expected effect correlated with said desired modification; and applying said field to said tissue.

Localization for electrocardiographic mapping

A system (10) can localize an object in a patient's body. The system (10) can include a pulse generator (18 or 30) configured to provide a localization signal to at least one electrode that is fixed to the object in the patient's body. A sensor array (22) can be configured to detect an electrical field produced in response to the localization signal and provide respective sensor signals. A map generator (42) can be configured to reconstruct electrical signals based on the respective sensor signals and geometry data representing a geometric relationship between patient anatomy and the sensor array. A location calculator (50) can determine a location where the localization signal was applied based on the reconstructed electrical signals.
