Prosthetic aortic valve pacing system
A method of assembling an electronic prosthetic aortic valve is provided. The method includes inserting an electronics component into a valve component, the electronics component including one or more electrodes and a prosthetic-valve coil, and the valve component including a frame and prosthetic leaflets coupled to the frame; and coupling the electronics component to the valve component. Other embodiments are also described.
CARDIAC PACING
A cardiac pacing system that includes an implantable pulse generator and electrical leads that include a lead body portion having a distal end and a proximal end, a connector configured to electrically connect the proximal end of the lead body to the pulse generator, and at least one electrode disposed at the distal end of the lead body for delivering electrical stimulation to a patient's heart, wherein the distal end of the lead body is configured to terminate within the mediastinum of the thoracic cavity of the patient, proximate to the heart.
DEPLOYMENT DEVICES AND RELATED ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS
Deployment devices include a locking mechanism configured to secure a medical device to the deployment device. Methods of operating a deployment device include securing a medical device positioned at least partially within at least one cannula of the deployment device with a locking mechanism and releasing the medical device and securing at least a portion of the at least one cannula of the deployment device with the locking mechanism.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation device includes an energy source; an electronics unit; an actuator that is coupled with the electronics unit and/or the energy source. The electronics unit includes a controller. The energy source, the electronics unit and the actuator are arranged in a housing. A fixing unit which is coupled with the housing and affixes the stimulation device on a heart or in a heart. The actuator emits electromagnetic waves for the stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue, and the controller controls the stimulation of the tissue by way of the electromagnetic waves of the actuator.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
An implantable device for implantation in a human body or animal body. The device includes an energy source, an energy storage device, and an electronics unit. Further, an actuator is coupled with the energy storage device and it is configured to emit electromagnetic waves by discharging the energy storage device.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation device contains an energy source, an electronics unit, and an actuator that is coupled with the electronics and/or the energy source. The actuator is configured to emit electromagnetic waves for stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue. The stimulation device is configured for at least temporary implantation in the human or animal body. The electronics unit has a controller configured to stimulate the tissue by use of the electromagnetic waves from the actuator.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation device has an energy source, an electronics unit with a controller, a fixing unit and an actuator that is coupled with the electronics and/or the energy source. The actuator is configured to emit electromagnetic waves for stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue. The stimulation device is configured for at least temporary implantation in a human or animal body. The controller is configured to control the stimulation of the tissue by use of the electromagnetic waves of the actuator. The stimulation device has a control unit that picks up data that characterizes the tissue activity and/or the success of a stimulation by a stimulation carried out through the electromagnetic actuator.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A device is described that is implantable in the human or animal body, this device comprising at least one substance that is designed to modify human or animal cell structures so that action potentials in the cell structures can be detected and/or evoked by irradiation with electromagnetic waves in the frequency range 10.sup.13-10.sup.20 Hz. The device comprises application means to deliver the substance to the tissue.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation system includes an energy source, an electronics unit with a controller, and an actuator that is coupled with the electronics unit and/or the energy source. The actuator emits electromagnetic waves for stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue. The electronics unit is disposed in a housing. The stimulation system is configured for at least temporary implantation in a human or animal body. The controller controls the stimulation of tissue in the body by way of the electromagnetic waves emitted by the actuator. A selector of the stimulation system selects the area of the said tissue for stimulation. The selector includes a masking device for masking certain areas of the tissue, so that an intensity of the stimulation for the masked areas is reduced or equal to zero.
DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A device has an energy source, an electronics unit and a pickup unit that is coupled with the electronics unit and is configured to measure electromagnetic waves in the frequency range 10.sup.13-10.sup.20 Hz. The device is configured for implantation in the human or animal body. The device is configured to detect that the electromagnetic waves were radiated from genetically manipulated tissue.
