SKIN TREATMENT SYSTEM
20190015661 · 2019-01-17 ·

Described is a skin regeneration therapy. The described therapy combines precise bioelectric signals, light, and biologics for skin treatment and regeneration. Precise bioelectric signals give clear instructions to the stimulated cell DNA/RNA to produce specific regenerative proteins on demand. Bioelectric signals give clear instructions to cell membranes on what to let in and what to let out and serve as an equivalent or surrogate of environmental stimuli to cause a cell action in response.

Method for the production of structured cellulose patches or elements and devices made using such a method

A method for the self-assembled production of a topographically surface structured cellulose element. First, a mold is provided having on one side a first surface which is in a complementary manner topographically structured and which is permeable to oxygen. Next, a liquid growth medium containing cellulose producing bacteria is provided. Then, the mold is placed to form a interface such that the side of the mold with the first surface is in direct contact with the liquid growth medium, and an opposite side is facing air or a specifically provided oxygen containing gas surrounding. This allows bacteria to be produced and deposit cellulose on the first surface and developing on the interface a surface structured surface complementary thereto, until a cellulose layer with a thickness of the element of at least 0.3 mm is formed. Finally; the element is removed from the mold.

High purity lithium and associated products and processes

High purity lithium and associated products are provided. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a lithium metal product in which the lithium metal is obtained using a selective lithium ion conducting layer. The selective lithium ion conducting layer includes an active metal ion conducting glass or glass ceramic that conducts only lithium ions. The present lithium metal products produced using a selective lithium ion conducting layer advantageously provide for improved lithium purity when compared to commercial lithium metal. Pursuant to the present disclosure, lithium metal having a purity of at least 99.96 weight percent on a metals basis can be obtained.

VENTRICULAR PACING TO AUGMENT ATRIAL NATRIURETIC HORMONE PRODUCTION

Intermittent delivery of ventricular pacing pulses synchronized to occur during an atrial diastole time period can be used to provide atrial stretch therapy and augment the production and release of atrial natriuretic hormone.

Active cardiac electrical lead

An active bipolar cardiac electrical lead includes a distal electrode (108), an intermediate connection mount (109), a ring electrode (103), and a tip housing (110). The intermediate connection mount (109) defines a proximal fitting (370) and a distal fitting (374). The ring electrode (103) has an exposed section (356) that sleeves over and engages the proximal fitting (370) of the intermediate connection mount (109) with a snap-fit connection. The intermediate connection mount (109) may connect the ring electrode (103) to the tip housing (110) and provide electrical insulation between the ring electrode (103) and the distal electrode (108).

Wireless midfield systems and methods

Implantable devices and/or sensors can be wirelessly powered by controlling and propagating electromagnetic waves in a patient's tissue. Such implantable devices/sensors can be implanted at target locations in a patient, to stimulate areas such as the heart, brain, spinal cord, or muscle tissue, and/or to sense biological, physiological, chemical attributes of the blood, tissue, and other patient parameters. The propagating electromagnetic waves can be generated with sub-wavelength structures configured to manipulate evanescent fields outside of tissue to generate the propagating waves inside the tissue. Methods of use are also described.

COMMUNICATIONS IN A MEDICAL DEVICE SYSTEM WITH TEMPORAL OPTIMIZATION

Systems and methods for managing communication strategies between implanted medical devices. Methods include temporal optimization relative to one or more identified conditions in the body. A selected characteristic, such as a signal representative or linked to a biological function, is assessed to determine its likely impact on communication capabilities, and one or more communication strategies may be developed to optimize intra-body communication.

ACTIVE CARDIAC ELECTRICAL LEAD
20180311495 · 2018-11-01 ·

An active cardiac electrical lead is disclosed, including a tip housing having a lumen, a soft tip plug and a marker band. The tip housing includes a body and an extension extending from a distal end of the body, and the body is of greater outer diameter than the extension. The soft tip plug fits over the extension and engaging the extension. The marker band is attached to an outer surface of the body or to an inner surface of the lumen.

Implantable medical device fixation

An assembly includes an implantable medical device (IMD) including a conductive housing, and a fixation element assembly attached to the IMD. The fixation element assembly includes a set of active fixation tines and an insulator to electrically isolate the set of active fixation tines from the conductive housing of the implantable medical device. The active fixation tines in the set are deployable from a spring-loaded position in which distal ends of the active fixation tines point away from the implantable medical device to a hooked position in which the active fixation tines bend back towards the implantable medical device. The active fixation tines are configured to secure the implantable medical device to a patient tissue when deployed while the distal ends of the active fixation tines are positioned adjacent to the patient tissue.

Receptacle for pacemaker lead

A lead receptacle having a lumen configured to traverse from an outer side of an outermost intercostal muscle to an inner side of an innermost intercostal muscle of an intercostal space of a patient and to support a lead traversing through the lumen. The lumen being configured to support one or more cardiac leads traversing through the intercostal space.
