The electronic device captures an image of the graphic of the control card, conducts a machine learning algorithm based on the image to obtain the instruction, and transmits the instruction to the robotic device. The robotic device obtains a road-piece signal value that is generated by scanning one of the road pieces, and performs movement based on the instruction and the road-piece signal value.

The pack has a side face defined by the stacked first side edges of the tickets in the stack, wherein the marking pattern on the lottery ticket side edges align so as to form a unique identification image on the side face of the pack. The marking pattern on each lottery ticket is unique to the respective ticket such that each lottery ticket in the pack can be separately authenticated at a later time by comparing its marking pattern to a retrieved or replicated image of the marking pattern based on the pack identification and order of the lottery ticket in the pack provided by the ticket code.

The device recognizes sequence of every card in a deck by scanning a unique barcode which is inscribed on each playing card. The barcode represents characteristics of the playing cards, including value, suit, color, orientation, and the like. The device uses an IR camera to scan the barcodes of the playing cards; uses a processor to analyze and decode the encoded information in the barcodes and determine the characteristics of the playing cards. This further determines the sequence of the playing cards in the deck. Hence, the card reading device allows a performer a myriad of magic tricks. Also, the device communicates with a user device installed with a scanning application that executes instructions to control the device for scanning and perform various effects.

Accordingly, the orientation of the playing cards may be monitored by the automatic playing card shuffler. The orientation data can be analyzed by a processor of the automatic playing card shuffler to determine unusual orientation patterns indicative of advantage play or cheats. Another version utilizes two distinct marks to identify important cards and less important cards.
