11160323 · 2021-11-02 · ·

A visor carrier assembly for a safety helmet includes a double-pivot mechanism attachable to each side of a safety helmet and configured to enable a visor to be selectively pivoted. An elongate arm of the double-pivot mechanism includes first and second pivotal couplings, each including a coupling member being a fixed elongate pin having rounded portions at each end, and a coupling region including an aperture defining, along its inner edge, a first notch or aperture within which one of the rounded portions of a respective coupling member is received to define a fixed pivot point, and an arcuate guide wall with which the opposite rounded portion of said respective coupling member engages and having ridges defining grooves or notches for receiving the opposite rounded portion as a respective pivotal coupling is pivoted about the fixed pivot point, each groove or notch defining a respective said visor position.

A closed face motorcycle helmet includes a shell with an eyeport and a shield attached for hinged or pivoted motion between a closed or lowered position covering and sealing the eyeport and an open position or raised position displaced above the eyeport. A hinge plate is attached to the shell on each side and includes a moving pivot socket into which a hub of the shield is rotatably disposed for hinged movement and rearward movement of the shield between the raised and lowered positions.

VISOR WITH MULTI-POSITION LOCKING SYSTEM
20230140620 · 2023-05-04 ·

A multi-positional helmet visor system in which the visor can be repositioned to a plurality of positions. Cooperating structures in the visor and helmet inhibit the unwanted changes in visor position. The helmet uses a magnetic source disposed on a boss in a sliding element of the visor, which cooperates and mates with a series of ferromagnetic elements disposed in detents along the medial front to assist in holding the visor in place. The magnetic force and boss-detent structures inhibit unwanted movement of the visor. The visor may be inhibited from being lowered into the cyclist’s field of view by sets of cooperating stops on the visor and helmet.

A pivoting shield assembly for hats is revealed. The pivoting shield assembly includes mounting slots arranged at two sides of a hat, a pivot base mounted to each mounting slot, a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod each of which having one end pivotally connected to the pivot base and the other end pivotally mounted to a shield, and a pathway groove disposed on an inner side of the first connecting rod. The pivot base includes an elastic locking piece which is mounted and moveable in the pathway groove correspondingly. Thereby lifting up and pulling down of the shield are more precise and having different stages. The pivoting shield assembly for hats is practical.

IMPROVEMENTS INTRODUCED IN A CRANIAL PROTECTION CELL, formed by an outer shell (11, 20) internally coated by absorbent material (12, 12′), said material comprising a first layer (21) immediately below the shell, of closed cell foam, rigid or semi-rigid in contact with a second layer (22) of open cell viscoelastic foam, the interface between said first and second layers being provided with interdigitations comprising cavities (24) in said first layer in which protrusions (23), provided in said second layer, fit in a complementary and cooperative manner. Absorbent supporting material are further provided in the jaw region (32), maxillary regions (33, 34) and mastoid regions. When closed, the visor (37) is embedded in the corresponding opening of the cranial protection cell, and its opening occurs in two steps, the former comprising forward movement, and the latter upward rotation. The cranial protection cell (CPC) further comprises a removable chin guard (54) whose unlocking mechanism is driven by buttons (51) located on either side of the shell.

A helmet with a visor includes structures that engage to prevent inadvertent retraction of the visor. The visor may be pressed against a shoulder formed around the face opening of the helmet responsive to an inward force. Arms securing the visor the helmet may be include a slot permitting sliding to facilitate this movement. The arms may include an arcuate slot and a radial slot engaging a guide pin mounted to the helmet. With the visor down, the guide pin slides within the radial slot. A protrusion on the visor may be urged into a receptacle on the helmet in response to an inward force. A latch may engage the helmet when the visor is down and be releasable manually.

Hard Hat Face Shield Attachment System

Various face shield assemblies for hard hats are described. The face shield assemblies actuate between stowed and operating positions such that the face shield can avoid objects near a front of the hard hat, such as a bill and/or lamp. In various aspects, aspects of the face shield assemblies rotate and/or slide when actuating between the stowed and operating positions.
