BLOOD GLUCOSE MANAGEMENT
20200375517 · 2020-12-03 ·

This disclosure provides equipment and processes for blood glucose management. Embodiments may comprise a lancet device that includes a base that supports a lancet and a cover. The cover can move controllably from an un-depressed position to a depressed position when a predetermined force is applied. The cover can provide access to the lancet in the depressed position. In another aspect, a biological test kit may include a reusable module and a disposable module. The disposable module may include one or more lancet devices such as that described above to collect a biological sample, one or more strip stations supporting biological strips and a disposable module connector. The reusable module may support measuring equipment to measure a property of the biological sample and a reusable module connector that engages removably with the disposable module connector.

Body fluid sampling arrangements

An arrangement for producing a sample of body fluid from a wound opening created in a skin surface at a sampling site includes at least one skin-penetration member having a first end configured to pierce the surface of the skin, and a inner lumen in communication with the first end; at least one actuator operatively associated with the at least one skin-penetration member; and at least one catalyst device configured to cause perfusion of body fluid at the sampling site; wherein the at least one actuator is configured to locate the at least one skin-penetration member so as to obstruct the wound opening while transporting body fluid through the inner lumen. Associated methods are also described.

LANCET NEEDLE WITH ALIGNMENT AND RETENTION NOTCH
20200221988 · 2020-07-16 · ·

A lancet needle with an alignment and engagement notch, with material of the lancet body extending into the notch to more securely retain the needle to the lancet body, whereby a shorter needle can be utilized than with typical lancets. The notch optionally also provides a registration point for rotational and/or axial alignment of the needle during overmolding to form the lancet body, for example to maintain consistent positioning of the needle's beveled point.

LANCET DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE COVER

The biological test kit is a device for drawing and, optionally, testing biological samples. The biological test kit is an array of lancets set in wells in a rigid base. Each lancet well is covered by a protective cover which when deformed permits the lancet to puncture a user or other patient. In one embodiment the biological test kit employs distinct covers for each lancet and in another the covers are formed from sheet material formed into blisters which cover the lancet.

BLOOD GLUCOSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A biological property testing device includes a base comprising a primary surface extending in a base plane, and a first lancet station supported by the base. A first test strip channel provided in the base can have a main channel portion extending generally parallel with the base plane, and an angled channel portion that forms an angle with the main channel portion between 5 degrees and 90 degrees. The first test strip channel can house a biological test strip oriented so that a meter connecting end of the biological test strip is adjacent to the main channel portion and a sample end of the biological test strip is adjacent to the angled channel portion.

MULTI-SITE BODY FLUID SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS CARTRIDGE

An arrangement includes a housing, a plurality of sampling and analysis sites contained within the housing, each of the sampling and analysis sites having a skin-penetration member having a first end configured to pierce the skin, and an inner lumen in communication with the first end, an actuator operatively associated with the skin-penetration member, and an analyte quantification member in fluid communication with the inner lumen of the skin-penetration member. Integrated devices including such arrangements are also described.

Glucose test device

A glucose test device includes a casing, a carrying unit, consumables, a first push rod, a locking component, a first driving unit and a control unit. The carrying unit is disposed at the casing. The consumables are disposed in the carrying unit. The first push rod is movably disposed at the casing. The first push rod is suitable for moving to push one consumable out of the carrying unit. The locking component is movably disposed at the casing. The first driving unit is connected to the locking component. The control unit is electrically connected to the first driving unit. The control unit is suitable for controlling the first driving unit to drive the locking component to lock the first push rod as unmovable. The control unit is suitable for controlling the first driving unit to drive the locking component to release the first push rod.

Compact blood hematocrit sensing device

Compact devices are provided to measure hematocrit of a blood sample. These devices include first and second chambers that receive respective portions of a blood sample via respective filters. The material of the filters prevents passage of red blood cells while permitting passage of blood plasma. One of the filters has one or more holes to permit the passage of whole blood. Thus, when an example device is presented with a sample of blood, one of the chambers contains whole blood and the other contains blood from which the red blood cells have been filtered. Electrodes in each of the chambers can then be used to detect the impedances of the whole blood and the filtered blood, and the detected impedances can be used to determine a hematocrit of the sample of blood.
