Method and apparatus for atrial arrhythmia episode detection
Techniques and devices for implementing the techniques for adjusting atrial arrhythmia detection based on analysis of one or more P-wave sensing windows associated with one or more R-waves. An implantable medical device may determine signal characteristics of the cardiac signal within the P-wave sensing window, determine whether the cardiac signal within the sensing window corresponds to a P-wave based on the determined signal characteristics, determine a signal to noise ratio of the cardiac signal within the sensing window, update the arrhythmia score when the P-wave is identified in the sensing window and the determined signal to noise ratio satisfies a signal to noise threshold.
CARDIAC EPISODE CLASSIFICATION
A medical system includes communication circuitry configured to receive episode data for an episode sensed by a medical device of a patient, wherein the episode data comprises a cardiac electrogram sensed by the medical device during a period of time; and processing circuitry configured to generate an image based on the episode data, wherein the image is associated with an interval within the period of time; apply, by the processing circuitry, one or more machine learning models to the image, the one or more machine learning models configured to determine whether the image corresponds to an arrythmia type; and output an indication of whether the image corresponds to the arrythmia type.
Impedance sensing
In some examples, a medical device system includes an electrode. The medical device system may include impedance measurement circuitry coupled to the electrode, the impedance measurement circuitry may be configured to generate an impedance signal indicating impedance proximate to the electrode. The medical device system may include processing circuitry that may be configured to identify a first component of the impedance signal. The first component of the impedance signal may be correlated to a cardiac event. The processing circuitry may be configured to determine that the cardiac event occurred based on the identification of the first component of the impedance signal.

DEVICE AND METHOD TO ACTIVATE CELL STRUCTURES BY MEANS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
A stimulation system includes an energy source, an electronics unit with a controller, and an actuator that is coupled with the electronics unit and/or the energy source. The actuator emits electromagnetic waves for stimulation of genetically manipulated tissue. The electronics unit is disposed in a housing. The stimulation system is configured for at least temporary implantation in a human or animal body. The controller controls the stimulation of tissue in the body by way of the electromagnetic waves emitted by the actuator. A selector of the stimulation system selects the area of the said tissue for stimulation. The selector includes a masking device for masking certain areas of the tissue, so that an intensity of the stimulation for the masked areas is reduced or equal to zero.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING SEGMENTS FOR ABLATION
A method for selecting one or more targets for non-invasively treating a cardiac arrhythmia in a patient includes receiving a mapping associated with the patient's heart and generating a segmented model of the mapping associated with the patient's heart. The segmented model divides the mapping into a plurality of segments. The method includes identifying one or more abnormality in the segmented model of the mapping associated with the patient's heart, determining which segment or segments of the plurality of segments include the identified one or more abnormality, and selecting a target for non-invasive treatment of the cardiac arrhythmia based on the determined segment or segments of the plurality of segments that include the identified one or more abnormality.
Wearable Medical Device with Removable Support Garment
A patient-worn arrhythmia monitoring and treatment device includes at least two pads configured to affix to skin on a torso of a patient. At least one of a pair of sensing electrodes is disposed on each one of the pads and configured to sense surface ECG activity of the patient. At least one of a pair of therapy electrodes is disposed on each one of the pads and configured to deliver one or more therapeutic pulses to the patient. A controller is in communication with the pairs of sensing and therapy electrodes and is configured to monitor for cardiac arrhythmias based on the sensed surface ECG activity and cause the delivery of the one or more therapeutic pulses. The device includes a removable garment to be worn about the torso to immobilize on the torso the one of the at least two pads to which the controller is coupled.
STRETCHABLE ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG) APPARATUSES
In certain examples, methods and structures are directed to an apparatus having a plurality of stretchable leads, with each of the plurality of stretchable leads including an associated electrode which is to receive electrical signals generated in response to a subject-s heart and to pass the received electrical signals along a respective one of plurality of stretchable leads. The apparatus also includes a patch integrating the stretchable substrate with the plurality of stretchable leads and with the patch having an area for circuitry to reside for collecting the electrical signals passed along each of the plurality of stretchable leads, wherein each of the plurality of stretchable leads is to be on a subject side of the patch. In more particular examples, the circuitry is used to provide a multi-lead ECG based on the electrical signals.
