In-the-ear hearing aid device, a hearing aid, and an electro-acoustic transducer
An in-the-ear hearing aid device is disclosed. The device at least one electro-acoustic transducer, and at least one sensor or at least one active electronic component. The at least one electro-acoustic transducer comprises a capsule enclosing a transducer sound active part and a transducer air volume. The transducer air volume is air volume which is enclosed by said capsule and which is in fluid-connection with said transducer sound active part. At least a portion of said at least one sensor or of said at least one active electronic component is provided within said transducer air volume.
Hearing device with optical sensor at spout
An in-ear hearing device includes a light source configured to emit light, a photodetector configured to detect the emitted light after the emitted light passes through tissue of a subject, a spout; an audio receiver configured to deliver a sound to the subject through the spout, and a dome configured to conform to a shape of a subject's ear canal when the hearing device is in the ear canal. An output of the light source and an input of the photodetector are separated by the dome, and the dome absorbs and/or reflects at least part of the emitted light. The photodetector may be a forward biased photodiode. The sensor device can be realized with power levels, circuitry components, and in package sizes, of hearing devices.
Ear device for heat stroke detection
A method is presented for predicting heat stroke of a subject. The method includes an earbud covered with a waterproof moisture permeable membrane allowing for moisture penetration, the earbud including an infrared (IR) temperature sensor for measuring core body temperature of the subject, wherein the IR temperature sensor is covered with a waterproof IR transmittable film to inhibit water drops from contacting a detector of the IR temperature sensor, a first humidity sensor positioned within a sweat flow path within the earbud, a second humidity sensor positioned outside the earbud, and a sodium ion (Na.sup.+) concentration sensor for measuring hydration levels of the subject.
Avoidance of user discomfort due to pressure differences by vent valve, and associated systems and methods
Systems and methods are disclosed for avoidance of user discomfort due to pressure differences by vent valve. In one embodiment, a method for equalizing air pressure in ear canal includes sensing a pressure difference between a pressure in ear canal (P.sub.EC) and an ambient pressure (P.sub.AMB) by a sensor of a hearing device. Based on sensing the pressure difference, an active valve is set to a first position to open a vent through the hearing device or to a second position to close the vent through the hearing device.
Alertness mode initiation for non-alert detection using ear-worn electronic devices
Techniques to detect a non-alert state of a user may include receiving sensor data from an ear-worn electronic device worn by a user, automatically determining whether to initiate an alertness mode of the ear-worn electronic device based on the sensor data, and determining an alertness state of the user in response to determining to initiate the alertness mode.
Wireless Ear Bud System With Pose Detection
Ear buds may have sensors to gather orientation information such as accelerometer measurements during user movements. A host electronic device may communicate wirelessly with the ear buds and may form part of an ear bud system that supplies the user with coaching and feedback while evaluating user performance of a head movement routine or other exercise routine. During operation, the ear buds may gather accelerometer data in a first reference frame such as a reference frame associated with the ear buds and may use a rotation matrix to rotate the data in the first reference frame into a second reference frame such as a neutral reference frame with a fixed orientation to the earth. The data in the neutral reference frame may be analyzed using a user head pose look-up table to categorize measured user head positions as corresponding to respective user head poses.
Cough detection
A method of cough detection in a headset, the method comprising: receiving a first signal from an external transducer of the headset; receiving a second signal from an in-ear transducer of the headset; and detecting a cough of a user of the headset based on the first and second signals.
ELECTRODE INSERTION TOOL WITH ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY
An electrode array insertion tool, including an assembly configured to provide direct array insertion functionality and ancillary array insertion functionality to a user thereof. In an exemplary embodiment, the tool includes an extra-cochlea bone conduction actuator system, and the ancillary array insertion functionality is output of vibrations directly to the cochlea by the system.
Neural analysis system
A neural analysis system, including: a neural event extractor for generating Sp/Ap curve data and field potential data for background and initial response segments obtained from a person; a correlator for correlating the Sp/Ap curve data and field potential data with pathology data for a condition, and generating biomarker data points for axes of a biomarker display; and a display module for providing display data to generate the display with the points for use in assessing the person relative to the condition.
ELECTRO-MECHANICAL SEXUAL STIMULATION DEVICE
A sexual stimulation device for applying stimulus to an erogenous zone of the human body. The sexual stimulation device has a body and an interchangeable head that can be interchangeably coupled to the body. The body has a motor. The interchangeable head has a stimulation surface. A kit is also provided having two such bodies and four interchangeable heads. Each of the four interchangeable heads has a different stimulation surface.
