An exemplary hearing system that is configured to assist a user in hearing includes an in-the-ear (ITE) component configured to fit at least partially within an ear canal of the user while the hearing system is worn by the user, a first sensor electrode provided on a surface of the ITE component and configured to contact, while the hearing system is worn by the user, outer ear tissue of the user, and a second sensor electrode configured to be located, while the hearing system is worn by the user, at an entrance to or outside of the ear canal of the user. The first sensor electrode and the second sensor electrode may be configured to be used to detect a physiological attribute of the user while the hearing system is worn by the user. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.
MULTI-DEVICE INTEGRATION WITH HEARABLE FOR MANAGING HEARING DISORDERS
Hearing management, using a portable device or integrated portable devices, can include generating during a hearing diagnostics phase an audiogram based on responses of a user to signals conveyed to the user. In response to detecting ambient noises during the hearing diagnostics phase, noise cancellation can be performed to cancel the ambient noises in conjunction with conveying the signals to the user. During a hearing enhancement phase, sounds can be captured with the portable device. The captured sounds can be enhanced in real-time during the hearing enhancement phase by amplifying select frequencies of the captured sounds using signal gain. The frequencies can be selected, and the signal gain determined based on the audiogram. The captured sounds, now enhanced, can be conveyed to the user as frequency-enhanced sounds.
Wearable devices for physiological monitoring
A wearable device for detecting and/or measuring physiological information from a subject includes a housing, at least one optical emitter supported by the housing, at least one optical detector supported by the housing, a first light guide supported by the housing, a second light guide supported by the housing, a motion sensor supported by the housing, and a processor supported by the housing. The processor is configured to calculate footsteps, distinguish footsteps from heart beats, and to remove footstep motion artifacts from signals produced by the at least one optical detector. Also, the processor is configured to process signals produced by the at least one optical detector to determine subject heart rate and to produce integrity data about the subject heart rate. The process is further configured to generate a multiplexed output serial data string comprising the subject heart rate and the integrity data.
Ear thermometer with a probe cover ejection device
The application provides an ear thermometer with a probe cover ejection device. The ear thermometer comprises a holding body and a measuring assembly disposed at one end of the holding body, which comprises a probe, a rotating member, and a socket. The rotating member includes a ring cover with an opening formed in a middle of the ring cover, at least one first abutting portion axially extended from a lateral side of the ring cover, and a lever portion radially extended from the lateral side of the ring cover. The socket includes a circular bottom surface and a closed section and an open section defined on a periphery of the circular bottom surface, a side wall surface vertically provided on the closed section, an accommodating space sandwiched between the side wall surface and the circular bottom surface, and at least one second abutting portion formed on the circular bottom surface. In this way, the dual motions of the radial and axial directions can be used to ensure that the probe cover can be reliably ejected and removed from the probe.
