System for deploying a shape memory catheterization device with strain feedback and methods for use therewith

A system for deploying a shape memory catheterization device within a patient, includes a catheter for endovascular insertion of the shape memory catheterization device. A heat source heats the shape memory catheterization device above the transition temperature. A transformation data generator includes a circuit driver for driving a circuit that includes at least one strain gage of the shape memory catheterization device and a detection circuit for generating transformation data based on a strain indicated by the at least one strain gage, wherein the transformation data indicates a shape transformation of the shape memory catheterization device from a catheterization shape to a transformed shape.

Aneurysm Neck Bridge with a Closeable Opening or Lumen Through Which Embolic Material is Inserted into the Aneurysm Sac

This intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device includes a neck bridge with a closeable opening through which embolic material is inserted into an aneurysm sac. After the neck bridge has been expanded within the aneurysm sac, a catheter is inserted through the opening and embolic material is delivered through the catheter into the aneurysm sac. After the aneurysm sac has been filled with embolic material, the catheter is then withdrawn and the opening is closed so that embolic material does not escape out of the aneurysm sac.

DELIVERY AND DETACHMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VASCULAR IMPLANTS

A system for delivering an implant device to a vascular site in a patient a delivery pusher apparatus, an implant device detachably connected to the delivery pusher apparatus by a tether having a distal end connected to a proximal end of the implant device, wherein the tether is substantially non-tensioned when connecting the implant device to the delivery pusher, and an electrical heating element configured coaxially around at least a portion of the tether, wherein heat generated by the heating element severs the tether at a point near the proximal end of the implant device.

Expandable body device and method of use

Disclosed herein are medical devices comprising a single-lobed, thin-walled, expandable body (“ballstent” or “blockstent”) and a flexible, elongated delivery device (“delivery catheter”) and systems and methods of use for treating saccular vascular aneurysms and methods of use for occluding segments of blood vessels and other biological conduits. Expandable bodies comprising gold, platinum, or silver that can be compressed, positioned in the lumen of an aneurysm or blood vessel, and expanded to conform to the shape of the aneurysm or segment of blood vessel or biological conduit are disclosed.

Treatment of an aneurysm or other vascular defect can be facilitated or enhanced by an implant delivered with a thermally activated detachment system. A delivery system can include an implant with a proximal portion that defines a port. A pusher device can include arms extending distally from a junction of the pusher device and through the port, with distal sections of the arms disposed within the implant. The arms can, at a certain temperature, transition from engagement with the implant to a shape that facilitates release of the implant. Additionally or alternatively, a coil can engage an outer surface of the implant at the proximal portion and transition to a shape that facilitates release of the implant.

STENT WITH EXPANDABLE FOAM

A stent for treating a physical anomaly. The stent includes a skeletal support structure for expanding in the physical anomaly and a shape memory material coupled to the skeletal support structure.

A medical device is disclosed and may have a spiral shape structure that can function as a stent, such as a flow diversion stent to treat aneurysms. The medical device may have a spiral shape structure that can function as an occlusive device, for instance to occlude aneurysms. The medical device may include a shape setting structure to selectively adjust the shape of the medical device.

Stent with expandable foam

A system comprising first, second, and third shape memory polymers (SMPs); wherein (a) the first SMP is a biodegradable open cell foam that includes a first channel; (b) the second SMP includes a second channel and is included in the first channel; (c) the foam is in a first state and is configured to expand to a second state, radially outward from the second foam, in response to thermal stimulus; (d) the third SMP is between the first and second SMPs and includes a stent having a first strut that includes the third SMP and a second strut that includes the third SMP; and (e) each of the first, second, and third SMPs is coupled to a wire.
