BENDABLE HANDHELD MEDICAL ACTUATOR
A handheld medical device with a distal implement is disclosed. The handheld rotary medical device may include an inner drive shaft, an elongated, tubular, outer housing encapsulating the inner drive shaft such that the inner drive shaft is positioned within the outer housing. The inner drive shaft may include one or more inner drive shaft bendable sections, and the outer housing may include one or more outer housing bendable sections. The inner drive shaft bendable section may be heated to anneal the material forming the inner drive shaft bendable section such that during use the inner drive shaft bendable section may be bent into a desired position and, once bent, the inner drive shaft bendable section remains in the desired position and does not bind against the elongated, tubular, outer housing.
Nested forceps subassemblies and methods of assembly
Methods of assembling a medical device including pivotably connecting a coupling link to a first lever. The coupling link including a main body and a tab extending away from the main body. The first lever having a first pivot and a boss. The method further including nesting the first lever and the coupling link with a second lever such that a recess in the second lever is supported by the boss, and such that an inner surface of the second lever is supported by the coupling link to provide a portion of the medical device in a sub-assembled state.
Hemostatic clamp
The present disclosure discloses a hemostatic clamp. Two clamping pieces are opened and closed through a ball head pull rod, and a clamping portion at a front end of the hemostatic clamp and a control portion at a rear end are separated through fit of the ball head pull rod with a plastic sleeve and a steel sleeve. Therefore, the hemostatic clamp has the advantages of simple structure, simple operation and high operation stability.
SYSTEMS FOR PERFORMING ENDOSCOPIC PROCEDURES
A system for performing an endoscopic procedure is provided. The system includes an actuation assembly having a handle assembly and a shaft assembly. The system also includes an end effector configured for selective and operative connection to a distal end of the shaft assembly. The system further includes a holder for selectively engaging the end effector and facilitating attachment of the end effector to the shaft assembly.
Apparatus for performing an electrosurgical procedure
A forceps includes a housing having a shaft. An end effector assembly operatively connects to a distal end of the shaft and includes a pair of first and second jaw members. One or both of the first and second jaw members is movable relative to the other jaw member from a clamping position to an open position. A resilient member operably couples to the first and second jaw members. The resilient member is configured to bias the first and second jaw members in the clamping position and provide a closure force on tissue disposed therebetween.
Instrument for grasping, dissecting and/or coagulating biological tissue
A tool (16) for the coagulation and dissection of biological tissue including a counter-bearing (35) that has at least one recess (37) open toward the outside and/or one or more hollow chambers (63). The recess (37) or the hollow chamber (63) is configured to provide a force/path elasticity characteristic curve with a plateau-like region II, V, during compression and reexpansion. The path section x in which the elasticity characteristic curve indicates the plateau II, IV preferably is as long as the tissue to be dissected is thick, and is, for example, in the range of 0.2 to 1.5 mm. As a result, the force exerted on the tissue during the cutting operation remains substantially constant in the effective work region.
Surgical instrument with a separable coaxial joint
A surgical instrument includes an elongated shaft having a proximal structural member and a proximal drive member that is selectively movable with respect to the proximal structural member. A modular end effector is removably coupled to the elongated shaft, and has a distal structural member and a distal drive member that is operatively coupled to a pair of jaw members. A separable joint is defined between the elongated shaft and the end effector. The separable joint includes laterally prominent and laterally indented portions of each of the proximal and distal structural members and of each of the proximal and distal drive members. The structural members are interlocked to resist longitudinal separation and permit lateral separation. The drive members are movable relative to structural members to move the separable joint to a locked configuration wherein the drive members prohibit lateral separation of the structural members.
ENDOSCOPIC DEVICE
The present application provides an endoscopic device with a shaft which has at least one portion which can be deflected in at least one plane, and having at least one deflection mechanism which is designed for deflecting the deflectable portion and includes, arranged in series, a first connecting link and at least a second connecting link which cooperates with the first connecting link and at least one control element which is coupled to the connecting links to adjust a deflection of the deflectable portion and is connected to an end portion of the shaft. At least part of the control element is arranged in the region of the end portion of the shaft, embodying a loop.
CAM DRIVER FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
An end effector assembly includes first and second jaw members movable between an open and closed position to grasp tissue therebetween. First and second proximal flanges extending proximally from the second jaw member and defining a space therebetween, a proximal flange extend proximally from a proximal portion of the first jaw member and define a cam slot. A cam driver operably is coupled to the proximal flange of the first jaw member to define a space between the cam driver and the proximal flange of the first jaw member. A cam bar is disposed within the space defined between the cam driver and the proximal flange of the first jaw member. The cam bar includes a cam pin configured to move within a cam slot of the cam driver to move the first jaw member relative to the second jaw member between the open position and the closed position.
Trigger mechanisms for surgical instruments and surgical instruments including the same
A trigger assembly of a surgical instrument includes a trigger, a first linkage, a second linkage, and a slider block configured such that moving the manipulation portion in a first direction relative to a housing of the surgical instrument translates the slider block along a longitudinal axis relative to the housing. Another trigger assembly of a surgical instrument includes a trigger and a coupling sphere rotatably captured within a cavity of a retention portion of the trigger such that movement of a manipulation portion of the trigger relative to the housing translates the coupling sphere along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing.
