Anchor
An anchor including shape memory metals, shape memory polymers or a combination thereof. The anchor has surgical and nonsurgical uses.
POSTERIOR STABILIZATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An implantable body for a posterior stabilization system includes a lateral end, a medial end, an inwardly facing surface configured to abut against a lamina when the body is implanted along a vertebra. A lateral bone outrigger extends from the inwardly facing surface and may include a bone-abutting surface along a medial portion disposed to abut against a lateral mass of the vertebra when the body is implanted along a vertebra. The lateral bone outrigger may have a first height. A penetrating feature extends from the inwardly facing surface between the bone-engaging portion of the inwardly facing surface and the lateral bone outrigger. The penetrating feature may have a second height less than the first height. A fastener bore extends through the body at an angle toward the lateral bone outrigger.
FENESTRATED PEDICLE NAIL
Embodiments are directed to spinal treatments and, more particularly, to a fenestrated pedicle nail, wherein the pedicle nail performs as an anchored system for pedicle instrument constructs that prevents fracturing from over-compressing of bone of poor quality. Embodiments include a pedicle nail comprising a shank and a nail head. The shank may comprise a proximal end and a distal bone engagement end. The nail head may be disposable on the proximal end of the shank, wherein the nail head may threadably engage the proximal end thereof. The nail head may have external bone threads.
Expandable polyaxial spinal system
A spinal pedicle screw system includes distractions rods and has the ability to be distracted after the screws are inserted into the pedicle and maintain polyaxial motion via polyaxial joints.
Intraoperative alignment assessment system and method
Some embodiments provide systems, assemblies, and methods of analyzing patient anatomy including providing an analysis of a patient's spine. The systems, assemblies, and/or methods can include obtaining initial patient data, and acquiring spinal alignment contour information. Further, the systems, assemblies, and/or methods can assess localized anatomical features of the patient, and obtain anatomical region data. The system, assemblies, and/or method can analyze the localized anatomy and therapeutic device location and contouring. Further, the system, assemblies, and/or method can output localized anatomical analyses and therapeutic device contouring data and/or imagery on a display.
Orthopedic fixation devices and methods of installation thereof
Orthopedic fixation devices and methods of installing the same. The orthopedic fixation device may include a coupling element and a bone fastener, whereby the bone fastener can be loaded into the coupling element through the bottom of a bore in the coupling element and a retention member is configured to allow polyaxial rotation of the bone fastener and also to lock the bone fastener in place upon application of a force on a saddle and clamp in the coupling element.
Corrective angle pedicle screw technology
A pedicle screw system applicable to affixation medical systems is provided. The system comprises a screw tulip comprising a rod receiving channel configured to receive a spinal rod, a shank configured to anchor the screw tulip and spinal to a pedicle. A bushing disposed between an interior surface of the screw tulip and a first end of the shank, wherein the first side of the bushing channel is defined by a top edge of a first wall of the bushing, a second side of the bushing channel is defined by a top edge of a second wall of the bushing, and the bushing channel is set at an angle defined by the top edge of the first wall and the top edge of the second wall.
SPINAL HOOK
A hook anchor for anchoring a fixation rod to a bone is disclosed. The hook anchor includes a hook body shaped in a curve of diminishing radius and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is to securely fix the hook anchor to the fixation rod. The curve of diminishing radius may be the shape of at least a portion of a Fibonacci curve. The bone can include at least one of a rib, a pelvis, and a vertebra. The hook body can be configured to engage with at least one of a spinous process a transverse process, and a pedicle of the vertebra.
Fixation device and method of using the same
A fixation device includes a tapered cannula defining a bore therethrough, a shaft, and a post. The shaft includes a proximal portion disposed within the bore, and central and distal portions extending distally from the tapered cannula. The proximal portion includes a threaded inner surface defined therein. The shaft includes blades disposed within the central portion, the blades movable between a closed position in which the blades are disposed within the shaft and an open position in which the blades extend laterally through the shaft. The post includes a threaded outer surface threadingly engaged with the threaded inner surface of the shaft. The post is movable longitudinally within the shaft to transition the blades between the closed and open positions.
Device and treatment of abnormal spine curvature
A magnetic screw device that includes a fastening stem, a housing, a magnet assembly, and one or more magnets. The housing is configured to receive the fastening stem, such that the housing can rotate and angulate relative to the fastening stem. The housing is also configured to secure the magnet assembly. The magnet assembly contains two magnet holders that are each configured to receive one of the two magnets. The magnetic screw device can be used in a method of treating a spine with an abnormal curvature.
