Spine alignment system
11419637 · 2022-08-23 ·

A spine alignment system is disclosed. The spine alignment system includes a pedicle screw having a longitudinal axis, the pedicle screw having a screw head. The screw head includes a slot having a longitudinal axis that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pedicle screw. An extension shaft is secured to the pedicle screw, such that a longitudinal axis of the extension shaft is substantially coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the pedicle screw. The spine alignment system also includes a cap having a slot that forms a substantially cylindrical passage with the slot of the pedicle screw head. The substantially cylindrical passage is configured to receive an alignment rod such that alignment of the spine occurs as the rod is translated along the extension shaft to the pedicle screw.

Rod reducing device

A rod reducer includes a housing, an anvil, a locking anvil configured to engage a locking plug of a bone screw assembly, an arm assembly, a reducing screw extending through the housing and rotatably coupled with the anvil, and a locking screw extending through the housing and rotatably coupled with the locking anvil. The arm assembly includes an arm hingedly coupled to the housing, and first and second grasping members configured to engage the bone screw assembly. The first and second grasping members are hingedly coupled to the housing and extend through the anvil. Rotation of the reducing screw transitions the arm assembly between an open position, in which, distal portions of the arm and the first and second grasping members are radially expanded, and a closed position, in which, the distal portions of the arm and the first and second grasping members are radially contracted.

Bone anchorage system

A bone anchoring system having a flexible member with a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A fastener provided at a first end of the flexible member for retaining the flexible member within a bone. A rigid member is provided to ensure movement or pull-through of the flexible member does not occur.

Modular offset screw

A modular screw includes a first assembly and a second assembly. The first assembly includes a base portion having a head portion, a securing portion defining a first bore, and a receiving portion defining a second bore. The second assembly includes a first post, a second post including an engaging portion, and an elongate screw threadably engageable with the second post. The second post is dimensioned to be received through the second bore of the receiving portion of the first assembly such that when a first set screw is received in the first bore, the first set screw secures the base portion of the first assembly to the second post. The elongate screw received in the second post causes radial expansion of the engaging portion of the second post, which, in turn, causes the engaging portion to be affixed to the cavity of the first post.

A bone fastener comprises a first member defining a plurality of grooves. A coupling member is disposed with the first member. A first band and a second band are disposable within the grooves. A second member is configured to penetrate tissue and includes a head engageable with the first band to provisionally connect the first member to the second member. The coupling member is engageable with a part to move the part relative to the first member into engagement with the second band to dispose the second band adjacent the first band to connect the first member to the second member. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

DEROTATION APPARATUS FOR TREATING SPINAL IRREGULARITIES

Treatment of spinal irregularities, including, in one or more embodiments, derotation apparatus and systems that can be used to reduce the rotation of vertebral bodies. Derotation apparatus that may comprise a tube assembly comprising an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve disposed over the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve may have a distal end for attachment to an implant. The tube assembly may further comprise a handle assembly. The tube assembly may further comprise a ball joint assembly disposed between the tube assembly and the handle assembly. The ball joint assembly may comprise a ball joint configured for attachment to a coupling rod. The ball joint assembly further may comprise a reducing extension below the ball joint, the reducing extension being sized to fit in a central bore of the inner sleeve. Orthopedic fixation devices comprising a ball joint are also disclosed.

Low profile connectors

Modular devices, assemblies, and methods for coupling one or more fixation elements, such as bone fasteners and/or elongate rods. The device includes at least one coupling element having a body portion for receiving a bone fastener and an extension portion extending transversely from the body portion. A locking assembly is received in the coupling element and includes a locking member, a clamp portion, and a ring portion, wherein the locking member is configured to contact an upper portion of the clamp portion and the ring portion is configured to at least partially surround a lower portion of the clamp portion. When unlocked, the bone fastener is moveable within the clamp portion to allow for polyaxial movement of bone fastener relative to the coupling element, and when locked, the bone fastener is fixed relative to the coupling element.

Spinal fixation assembly

Disclosed herein are a spinal fixation assembly and method to provide adequate rigidity and support for a vertebral column without requiring additional pedicle screws and spinal rods. The spinal fixation assembly includes a spinal rod loop with multiple sides configured to be attached to a vertebral body with two or more pedicle screws. Each pedicle screw is adapted to fit at various locations along the spinal rod loop.
