Bone stabilization systems

Bone plates for engaging bone members are described herein. The bone plates can receive one or more screws to secure the bone plates to an underlying bone member. The one or more screws can be inserted into bone plate holes that can be considered locking or non-locking. The bone plates described herein can have particular combinations of locking and/or non-locking holes. The bone plates can include features that accommodate the underlying anatomy of different types of bone, such as the condylar region of a femur.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RADIALLY COMPRESSIVE SHAPE MEMORY IMPLANTS

A radially compressive implant, which includes a central vertical axis, is configured to transition between a natural shape and an insertion shape. A transition of the implant from the natural shape to the insertion shape facilitates the implant storing energy deliverable radially relative to the central vertical axis. A transition of the implant from the insertion shape toward the natural shape facilitates the implant delivering the energy stored therein radially relative to the central vertical axis. An implant delivery device in an implant engagement position is configured to engage the implant and constrain the implant in the insertion shape. The implant delivery device in an implant release position is configured to release the implant.

BONE LOCKING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A bone locking system is applied to join multiple broken bone fragments, including a self-tapping nut having a cylindrical structure, the self-tapping nut having an outside surface including an external threading portion, the external threading portion being formed, through recessing, a tapping notch, the self-tapping nut having an inside surface including an internal threading portion, a tool portion being formed in the inside surface of the self-tapping nut at an upper end thereof, the self-tapping nut being embedded in a cortical bone portion of each broken bone fragment; and a fixing bolt corresponding to the internal threading portion of the self-tapping nut, the fixing bolt being screwed into and fixed in the self-tapping nut to join each of broken bone fragments. A bone plate having a fixing hole is selectively provided. The fixing bolt penetrates through the fixing hole of the bone plate and is screwed into the self-tapping nut.

Orthopedic Implant In The Form Of A Plate To Be Fixed Between Two Bone Parts

The invention relates to a plate fixed between two bone parts by way of screws engaged in holes formed in the thickness of said plate. The plate comprises an angled member or rib which is inclined according to an angle of between about 30° and 60° in relation to the plane defined by the plate. The angled member or rib has a hole for engaging a screw and is located in the central part of the width, over a determined part of the length of the plate, so that the screw brings the two bone parts into a compressive position.

Self-contouring plate for bone fractures

The self-contouring plate for bone fractures allows a surgeon to bridge a bone fracture, primarily in bones of complex shape where the use of plates or screws is difficult. The self-contouring plate is formed from a series of similar or identical rigid elements, the elements able to bend and rotate with respect to each other. This flexibility is initially helpful as the surgeon contours the device to the shape of the bone. When the desired shape is reached, the elements are locked into place. The length of device is adjusted by adding or removing elements, much like a necklace. Each element of the self-contouring plate includes a ball that extends away from a body, a cavity for receiving the ball of the neighboring plate, and a screw to compress the ball within the cavity.

BONE FUSION PLATE AND SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ITS USE IN THE WRIST

The present invention relates to a crescent or tri-corner shaped orthopedic plate with at least a first and a second end, and generally coextensive top and bottom surfaces joined directly or indirectly by an edge. The plate includes a plurality of fixation holes the first end of the plate and a second end of the plate that receives locking screws and intermediate the two holes, the plate includes a recess that defines a screw hole edge at an angle relative to the top surface of the plate so as to receive and support a screw in the recess. The invention further relates to a method of fusion using the plate and a clamp designed for the method.

Bone plating system clamp sizing instrument and installation instrument

A measuring instrument configured to measure a bone and a plate to determine the size of an attachment clamp, including: a medial clamp configured to engage a medial portion of the bone; a medial gauge connected to the medial clamp, the medial gauge including: a key along a portion of the medial gauge adjacent the medial clamp; a gauge indicator configured to indicate the size of attachment clamp; and a threaded portion; a lateral clamp configured to engage a plate on the bone, where the lateral clamp has a hollow portion with a channel, wherein the gauge indicator is positioned in the hollow portion and wherein the channel is configured to engage the key of the gauge indicator to prevent the lateral clamp from rotating about the gauge indicator; and a tightening knob threaded onto the thread portion of the of the medial gauge, wherein one end of the tightening knob indicates on the gauge indicator the size of the attachment clamp.
