20230190344 · 2023-06-22 ·

An orthopedic tension band plate includes proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion includes a first proximal aperture configured to receive a first securing member, and a second proximal aperture disposed distal of the first proximal aperture and configured to receive a second securing member. The distal portion includes first and second tines extending distally to first and second distal ends having first and second distal apertures configured to receive third and fourth securing members. At least the first and second tines are configured to wrap around and conform to portions of the bone proximate to the fracture and, thereby, convert tensile forces at the fracture into compressive forces when the first through fourth securing members are secured through their respective apertures and into the bone.

A radially compressive implant, which includes a central vertical axis, is configured to transition between a natural shape and an insertion shape. A transition of the implant from the natural shape to the insertion shape facilitates the implant storing energy deliverable radially relative to the central vertical axis. A transition of the implant from the insertion shape toward the natural shape facilitates the implant delivering the energy stored therein radially relative to the central vertical axis. An implant delivery device in an implant engagement position is configured to engage the implant and constrain the implant in the insertion shape. The implant delivery device in an implant release position is configured to release the implant.

PLANTAR BONE FUSION PLATE

A plantar bone plate and a method are provided for treating fractures of metatarsal bones. The plantar bone plate comprises a generally elongate member having an upper surface and a lower, bone contact surface. Two or more fixation apertures and a compression slot are disposed along a longitudinal dimension of the elongate member. The fixation apertures receive fasteners suitable for fastening the plantar bone plate to a metatarsal bone. The compression slot receives a fastener at an oblique angle for compressing adjacent portions of the metatarsal bone so as to encourage bone fusion. A curvature along the elongate member is configured to mate the plantar bone plate with the anatomy of the plantar aspect of the metatarsal bone. In one embodiment, the curvature is comprised of at least a first bend and a second bend, such that the plantar bone plate mates with the plantar anatomy of the 5.sup.th metatarsal.

ORTHOPEDIC PLATE, ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE, METHOD OF COUPLING BONE SEGMENTS, AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AN ORTHOPEDIC PLATE

An orthopedic plate comprising a frame portion having a longitudinal body defining a longitudinal axis. The longitudinal body having at least one side arm extending from the longitudinal body transverse to the longitudinal axis. The frame portion also having a bearing rotatably coupled with the at least one side arm, wherein the bearing defines an opening configured to receive a fastener for fastening the orthopedic plate to a body. The bearing includes an outer surface that is eccentric to the opening such that a position of the opening with respect to the frame portion is adjustable as the bearing rotates.

BONE PLATE

The present invention relates to an internal fixator device (1) of the bone plate type to be used as synthesis means in anatomical regions or epiphyses/metaphyses with poor coating of soft tissue, of the type comprising a two-lobe or eight-shaped bone plate (2) comprising a pair of lobed portions (23, 24) which are linked by a central linking portion (15) and in each of which at least one through-hole (3, 4) is formed to receive a corresponding bone fixation screw (5). Advantageously, each of the pair of lobed portions (23, 24) of the bone plate (2) has an upper surface (7) inclined relative to a reference plane (X) coinciding with a second upper surface of the linking central portion (15) of the bone plate (2), and a lower surface (6) configured for contact with the bone and inclined relative to the same reference plane (X) with a smaller inclination.

SURGICAL REDUCTION TOOLS AND METHODS FOR ACHIEVING BONE COMPRESSION

Surgical reduction tool assemblies may be used for achieving compression between bone fragments or across joints when performing arthrodesis procedures, bone fracture procedures, etc. The reduction tool assemblies may be used to reduce a gap between bone fragments or between bones of a joint prior to attempting to achieve final compression with a bone plate.

Pars Interarticularis Fracture Device

This device is intended for orthopedic applications, particularly to treat a pars interarticularis fracture. The device is highly specialized to treat a common pars fracture with a uniquely contoured device that stabilizes the inferior fractured element with a generally conforming and non-linear hooked surface then transcribing the pars fracture to rigidly attach to the cortical bone between the facet and pedicle bones while applying compression across the fraction for fracture healing and stabilization.

Apparatus for the constant-angle fixation and compression of a fracture or osteotomy of a bone

Apparatus for the fixed-angle fixation and compression of a fracture site or osteotomy of a bone includes a bone plate having a plurality of holes and bone screws with a threaded head. The bone screws accommodated in the holes are screwed into the bone. At least one of the holes is a combination of two circular holes of different diameter. As screwing of the bone screw into the bone proceeds through a final stage, engagement of the threads on the head with threads in the combination hole effects relative longitudinal displacement between the plate and the bone whereby it is possible to simplify simultaneous fixed angle fixation and compression of the fracture or osteotomy with use of a single screw. Threads on the head of the bone screw engage threads in the hole which is a combination of the two hole to effect relative motions.

Bone plate system

The invention relates to a bone plate system with a bone plate, a pressure plate, and a bone screw. The bone plate comprises a through-hole, said through-hole having a seat surface with a variable angle for the bone screw. In the connected state of the system, the bone screw is inserted into the through-hole. The head of the bone screw is enclosed between the bone plate and the pressure plate. The pressure plate is fixed to the bone plate via a screw connection which has two securing screws. The axes of the securing screws spread apart such that the distance between the axes of the securing screws increases in the screw-in direction. The head of the bone screw is thereby reliably fixed between the pressure plate and the bone plate.

DISTRACTION PLATE SYSTEM

The present invention provides plate systems for distracting and fixating vertebral bodies of animal (preferably human) spines. In some embodiments, the system includes: a biocompatible plate with at least two holes, at least two biocompatible distraction screws for insertion through the holes, each screw having an expandable head, a bore and a threaded shank, and at least two biocompatible fixating screws with threaded shanks. Insertion of the fixating screws into the distraction screws causes the expandable heads to expand and lock to the biocompatible plate. Optionally, the plate and the expandable heads comprises mating teeth configured to lock the expandable heads to the plate upon expansion of the expandable heads. The present invention also relates to use of the plate system to distract and fixate vertebral bodies.
