TORQUE-LIMITING SCREWDRIVER DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Various torque-limiting screwdriver devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. The screwdriver can include a body, a motor that is configured to rotate a screw engaged with the screwdriver, and a processor configured to control operation of the screwdriver. The screwdriver can have torque-limiting functionality, such as by monitoring the amount of torque applied to the screw and reducing or stopping rotation of the screw when certain torque-limiting criteria are met. In some embodiments, the screwdriver can be switched between manual operation by a user, and automated operation by a motor within the screwdriver. In some embodiments, the screwdriver can be attached to a robotic arm.
BOWED PLATE FOR FIXATING OSTEOTOMIES AND JOINT ARTHRODESES
An apparatus and methods are provided for a bowed plate for fixating osteotomies and joint arthrodeses. The bowed plate includes a backplate comprising a support portion and an aperture portion that share an intervening central portion. The central portion angles the support portion and the aperture portion toward a midline of the bowed plate. A leg extends from the support portion and includes fixation features that enable the leg to grip an inner wall of a hole drilled in bone. A slanted aperture in the aperture portion is configured to countersink a bone screw. The central portion is configured to be straightened by way of a surgical bending instrument and implanted at a bone fixation or fusion site of a patient. Upon relaxing the surgical bending instrument, the leg and the bone screw compress the fusion site.
VARIABLE ANGLE BONE PLATE SYSTEM
The invention concerns a bone plate system comprising: a bone fastening element comprising a shaft with a first thread with a first lead length, the fastening element further comprising a head with a second thread on its outer surface, the second thread having a second lead length, the outer surface having a first hardness; and a bone plate with a second hardness which is smaller than the first hardness, the bone plate comprising a non-threaded through hole in a non-assembled state for receiving the bone fastening element, the hole comprising a first hole portion with a first three-dimensional shape and a second hole portion with a second, different three-dimensional shape. The first lead length substantially equals the second lead length, and the second thread is arranged to irreversible deform the wall of the hole to form a female thread on the wall.
BONE SCREW LOCKING RECEIVER AND BONE SCREW SYSTEM
Various implementations described herein include a screw locking receiver. The screw locking receiver includes a receiver frame which has a first surface, a second surface opposite and spaced apart from the first surface, and an inner surface which extends between the first surface and the second surface. The receiver frame defines a cylindrical inner channel having a central axis. The receiver includes a counterbore which extends along a first portion of the inner surface. The receiver includes a plurality of threads extending helically about a second portion of the inner surface. The counterbore has a diameter that is sufficient to accept a screw head having a non-parallel central axis with respect to a central axis of the inner channel when in a fastened position.
Artificial spinal disk prosthesis
Intervertebral endoprosthesis discs suitable for surgical implantation between two vertebrae having and methods thereof. The prosthetic disc may have an endoprosthesis body including an anterior region and a posterior region designed to be positioned between a first vertebra and a second vertebra with a first and second movable insert positioned rotatably in anterior cavities and is rotatable to adjust the fasteners.
Navigation systems and methods for indicating and reducing line-of-sight errors
Navigation systems and methods used to track objects moving in space. One navigation system and method employs trackers each having a light emitting diode that emits a colored light when obstruction of line-of-sight between tracking elements on the trackers and sensors or other errors are absent. When obstruction of line-of-sight between tracking elements on the trackers and sensors or other errors are generated, the light emitting diode is deactivated. Another navigation system and method employs trackers each having a light emitting diode that emits a colored light when obstruction of line-of-sight between tracking elements on the trackers and sensors or other errors are generated. When obstruction of line-of-sight between tracking elements on the trackers and sensors or other errors are absent, the light emitting diode is deactivated.
Implant positioning devices and methods
Implant positioning devices and fastener guides for implant positioning devices are disclosed for assisting in positioning orthopaedic fixation devices (such as bone plates, etc.). A fastener guide may include a body with slits in a first end of the body that form a guide arm proximal to the first end of the body. The guide arm is configured to releasably hold a fastener in the fastener guide. The fastener guide may also be coupled to a bone plate to facilitate ease of alignment and insertion of the fastener into a fastener apertures of the bone plate.
Extremity Fusion Plate Assembly
A bone fusion assembly includes a bone plate having a plurality of through openings extending therethrough. The through openings include at least one fusion screw opening sized to allow a screw guide to be at least partially inserted therein and a plurality of fixation screw through openings. The screw guide includes a body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a through-passage extending between the proximal end and the distal end. A K-wire a sized to extend through the through-passage in the body of the screw guide.
Orthopaedic apparatus
A plate for securing two bone segments in a tibial plateau levelling osteotomy procedure having a body with an elongate distal portion and a proximal portion extending laterally and a plurality of apertures for receiving fixing means wherein at least two of the apertures are adapted to receive fixing means and at least one of the said apertures is adapted to receive a removable plug which extends proud of the bone-facing surface. One of the apertures has a camming surface configured such that upon insertion of the fixing means the bone fragments are urged together thereby promoting healing without deleterious compression of the surface of the bone.
Clavicle fixation system
Clavicle fixation devices and methods thereof. A clavicle fixation device includes an elongated plate extending between first and second ends, the elongated plate defining a plurality of spaced apart screw holes. At least one pair of relief cuts extends into the elongated plate on opposite sides thereof, the at least one pair of relief cuts axially positioned between a pair of the spaced apart screw holes and at least one pair of suture holes along opposite sides of the elongated plate, the at least one pair of suture holes axially positioned between a pair of the spaced apart screw holes. At least one pair of relief cuts is axially aligned with a pair of suture holes to define combined holes on opposite sides of the elongated plate.
