Orthopaedic fixation device, system and method
An implantable fixation device for rejoining opposed portions of a separated bone. The device including two corresponding plates that are configured to be aligned and coupled to a bone, such as a sternum, pre-resection of the bone or prior to cutting/separating the bone. The placement of the corresponding plates provides a gap between the edges of the plates that face one another allowing for and guiding a cutting tool for separating the bone. After the bone has been cut and the desired surgical procedure performed, the plates also assist in realigning and fixation of the bone portions. At least one plate includes a ratchet mechanism that is configured to tighten a locking element and draw the two plates together and into alignment with one another.
Bone plating kit for foot and ankle applications
A bone plate kit may be provided for a foot or ankle orthopedic procedure, such as a lapidus procedure. In some examples, the bone plate kit includes a sterile container that holds multiple unicortical bone plate fasteners and one or more bone plates. For example, the kit may contain two bone plates configured to be used together during a tarsal-metatarsal fusion procedure. Each of the two bone plates may be configured to span different regions of a tarsal-metatarsal joint. The unicortical bone plate fasteners can be used to secure the two bone plates to the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform of a patient undergoing a procedure. In some configurations, one of the bone plates is a helical bone plate while the other bone plate may or may not be a helical bone plate.
Proximal femur hook plate
A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion to be positioned along a greater trochanter of a bone. The head portion includes pairs of bone fixation element receiving openings extending therethrough from a first surface of the plate which, when the plate is in an operative position, faces away from the bone, and a second surface which, when the plate is in the operative position, faces toward the bone. A pair of cable holes extend through the head portion from a first longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces to a second longitudinal side connecting the first and second surfaces. The head portion includes a pair of hooks for engaging a superior ridge of the greater trochanter. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion to extend along a portion of the bone distal of the greater trochanter.
DISTAL RADIUS STABILIZATION SYSTEM
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially ulna head stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and a distal end. The bone plate defines a plurality of through holes extending through the elongated portion. A plurality of fasteners are configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and configured to secure the bone plate to the bone. The proximal end of the elongate portion has an arcuate configuration.
PROXIMAL HUMERAL FIXATION PLATE AND METHOD FOR PLACING SUCH A FIXATION PLATE
The invention concerns a fixation plate (2) for fixing to a proximal humerus, comprising a head part (3) for attachment distally from the foot plate of the major tubercle (26) of the humerus (25), which is provided with first screw holes (5) with internal screw thread for angularly stable screws (24), of which two arranged furthest from the shaft part (4) are provided as upper screw holes (11) for a downwardly directed screw (29), and suture holes (7), of which one anchoring suture hole (10) for anchoring thereto, by means of suture material (28), a bone anchoring element (9) attached in the apex (31) of the humeral head (32), and a shaft part (4) adjoining this head part (3) at the bottom for being attached to the humeral shaft (27). In addition, the invention concerns a set of such a fixation plate (2) and a side arm (16), and a method for treating a shoulder fracture using such a fixation plate (2).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INSERTING A FASTENER INTO BONE
An insertion guide for guiding a fastener having a head and a shaft. The insertion guide includes a sidewall constructed of a biocompatible material having an entrance end, an exit end, and a cavity extending from the entrance end to the exit end. The sidewall has a guide portion and a fastener connector portion. The guide portion of the sidewall extends from the entrance end toward the exit end, and the fastener connector portion of the sidewall extends from the exit end toward the guide portion. The sidewall in the guide portion is configured such that the cavity has a first cross-sectional distance greater than the head of the fastener. The sidewall in the fastener connector portion has a second cross-sectional distance greater than the shaft, and less than the head.
Osteotomy plate, plate driver and method for their use
An orthopedic plate is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the plate extends into a portion of a first bone segment and part is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The plate has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the plate, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the plate includes a locking screw hole and optionally including a compression slot extending in a direction toward a screw hole in the opposing end. Optionally, the non-locking hole has a shroud that forms an arc or portion of a cylinder over the hole. A plate driver having a recess that holds the plate is used to insert the plate into the bone.
Multiplanar fixation plate for fracture repair
Bone surgical plate devices and methods for use in bone fracture surgeries, for example, clavicle fracture surgery. The systems and methods can include a plate device with specific design features including but not limited to differing designs, geometries, and configurations in multiple segments of the device.
Surgical screw system
A surgical screw according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a shaft portion that extends between a proximal end and a distal end, the shaft portion including a first thread having a variable pitch and a head portion extending from the proximal end of the shaft portion. The head portion includes a second thread having a pitch that is equal to a pitch of at least a portion of the variable pitch.
Systems and methods for fusion of anatomical joints
The present disclosure relates to improved plate and screw systems for use in fusion and other surgical procedures, which improve the ability to effectively affix adjacent bodies without gapping or experiencing loss of compression over time. The systems include plates having armatures configured to receive bushings, the bushings configured to pivot and rotate and thereby permit a greater degree of orientation of corresponding screws placed through the bushings. In embodiments, the bushings comprise anti-rotation elements which lock the bushings in a desired orientation. Methods for use of the components described herein are also disclosed.
