Rib Plate And Rib Plate System
A monolithic rib plate is described. The rib plate comprises multiple first screw orifices located substantially along a first line and connected by first bridges, multiple second screw orifices located laterally on one side of the first line and connected by second bridges, wherein one or more of the second bridges have a smaller cross-section than the first bridges, and third bridges, each connecting one of the second screw orifices with one of the first screw orifices. Also described is a rib plate system comprising the monolithic rib plate and at least one of one or more polyaxial locking screws, a tool for removing the second bridges, a tool for bending the monolithic rib plate, and one or more orifice bridge plates.
BONE REPAIR DEVICES AND METHODS
A tensioning tool is provided for applying tension to a band. The tensioning tool includes a handle. The tensioning tool also includes a barrel having a channel at an end of the barrel. The channel is configured to receive a portion of the band. The tensioning tool also includes a cutting blade that is configured to remove an excess portion of a band. The tensioning tool has a tension limit that is the maximum tension that can be applied to a band, and the tensioning tool is configured to apply tension to the band until the tension limit has been reached. The tensioning tool is configured to actuate the cutting blade to cut the band upon at least one of the tension limit being reached or upon a user command.
Temporary sternal stabilization device to prevent right ventricular rupture
The invention relates to a sternal closure device for temporarily closing and stabilizing a sternum in between surgeries of the thoracic cavity wherein a C-shaped hook attaches to the outside of the portion of one side of a dissected sternum which is connected to an opposing C-shaped hook by a wire which may be readily cut with surgical scissors to allow physicians quick access to the thoracic cavity for surgical treatment. The device includes a stress measurement dial that allows physicians to evaluate the force needed for permanent closure fixation. The new and unique aspect of this invention is that it gives surgeons easy access to the thoracic cavity without worrying about the sternal bones fusing together between operations.
ANTEROLATERAL CLAVICLE FRACTURE FIXATION PLATE
The present application provides new and innovative anterior clavicle plates and systems for clavicle fracture fixation. The provided anterior clavicle plate is shaped to better conform to or fit the anterior and lateral surfaces of a patient's clavicle as compared to typical anterior clavicle plates. This improved conformance can help reduce the incidence of tissue irritation, which reduces the chances of a second surgery being needed for removal of the anterior clavicle plate. The improved conformance can also result in an anatomically better fracture reduction than typical anterior clavicle plates and an increased fixation strength. Additionally, an instrument provided by the present application can help a surgeon install the provided anterior clavicle plate more quickly and with increased flexibility and consistency than typical systems.
STERNAL PLATES AND METHODS OF USE
A plate system for securing a first sternal portion and a second sternal portion of a separated sternum can include a first plate and a second plate. The first plate can include a first body and a first hook. The first body can include a first reduction bore. The first hook can extend from the first body. The first hook can be engageable with a lateral portion of the first sternal portion. The second plate can include a second body and a second hook. The second body can include a second reduction bore. The second hook can extend from the second body. The second hook can be engageable with a lateral portion of the second sternal portion opposite the first hook.
Systems and methods for bone stabilization and fixation
Systems for the minimally invasive repair, stabilization and/or fixation of a fractured bone, such as a rib, are disclosed. The systems include one or more rods/support members that are designed to extend along a dimension of a bone being repaired and secure the fractured bone. The support members can be photodynamic and are formed using an expandable member that is filled with a light-sensitive liquid that is cured to form the rigid support member. Two or more clamps are used to secure the support member(s) to the rib or other bone. Minimally invasive surgical methods for securing the systems to a fractured bone are also disclosed.
Driven universal screw guide
A driven fastener guide for guiding a fastener into a hole of a bone plate. The driven fastener guide includes an elongated driver configured for connecting to a drill and a fastener guide member operably connected to the elongated driver. The fastener guide member includes a split body and a through-bore configured for receiving the fastener. The fastener guide member is configured for aligning the fastener relative to the hole of the bone plate.
Apparatus and Methods for Treating Pectus Excavatum
Various embodiments provide an apparatus for treating pectus excavatum. A pectus bar apparatus includes at least one elongated bar having an offset bend between a first end and a second end, at least one aperture near the first end and at least one aperture near the second end, a planar stabilizer extending orthogonally from the elongated bar, and a pair of opposing rib reveals located between the first end and the planar stabilizer. A pectus excavatum treatment kit and a method for utilizing that kit are also provided.
FLEXIBLE BONE FIXATION DEVICE
One embodiment of the disclosure relates to a flexible bone fixation device including two first fixation parts and a first flexible spanning part, connected between the two first fixation parts. The first flexible spanning part has a plurality of first cuts spaced apart by one another.
