Hybrid radiolucent screw with radiopaque components and radiolucent components and method of manufacture

A hybrid radiolucent screw having radiopaque components and radiolucent components, which collaboratively define a tip of the screw and a head of the screw. In this manner, distortion is minimized during fluoroscopy or radiography of the screw while visualization of the screw and surrounding area is enhanced.

A bone marrow access apparatus includes a bone penetrating member and a cap. The bone penetrating member includes a tubular insertion portion, and a head portion provided at a proximal end of the tubular insertion portion. A cross-sectional shape of the head portion is wider than a cross-sectional shape of the tubular insertion portion. A recess is provided in the head portion, and an internal channel is provided through the head portion and the tubular insertion portion. The cap accommodates the head portion of the bone penetrating member therein. The cap includes a lower wall which covers at least a part of a distal side of the head portion, and a projection which projects into the recess of the head portion.

Driver and system for threaded intramedullary nail retaining endcaps

A driver for engaging an endcap of an intramedullary nail. The driver includes a handle extending along a longitudinal axis of the driver from a proximal end to a distal end. The handle having a handle channel extending longitudinally therethrough. The driver also includes a shaft extending through the handle channel from a proximal end to a distal end along the longitudinal axis. The shaft having a shaft channel extending longitudinally therethrough. The distal end of the shaft extends distally from the handle. The distal end of the shaft forms a driving element to be inserted into a head portion of the endcap. The driver further includes a retention pin slidably received in the shaft channel. The retention pin extends also extends along the longitudinal axis. The distal end of the retention pin is configured to reversibly lock the shaft to the head portion of the endcap.

BONE FUSION DEVICE

A bone fusion device includes: a shaft including a porous section and a threaded proximal section configured for facilitating a compression.

Fixation device and method of using the same

A fixation device includes a tapered cannula defining a bore therethrough, a shaft, and a post. The shaft includes a proximal portion disposed within the bore, and central and distal portions extending distally from the tapered cannula. The proximal portion includes a threaded inner surface defined therein. The shaft includes blades disposed within the central portion, the blades movable between a closed position in which the blades are disposed within the shaft and an open position in which the blades extend laterally through the shaft. The post includes a threaded outer surface threadingly engaged with the threaded inner surface of the shaft. The post is movable longitudinally within the shaft to transition the blades between the closed and open positions.

BIDIRECTIONAL FIXATION STEEL PLATE AND A BONE SHAFT FIXATION SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a bidirectional fixation steel plate and a bone shaft fixation system. The bidirectional fixation steel plate comprises a steel plate body, wherein the steel plate body is used to be implanted from a front side of a bone shaft and has a structure matched with the front side of the bone shaft to fixedly fit with a fracture end, the steel plate body is provided with at least two pairs of guide holes for first locking screws to pass through respectively in the structure matched with the front side of the bone shaft, and angles of the guide holes enable the first locking screws passing through to clamp an intramedullary nail together to control rotation and axial stability of the intramedullary nail. The bidirectional fixation steel plate proposed by the present invention may achieve support, anti-rotation and axial stability of the bone shaft fracture end through the cooperation of the first locking screws and the guide holes of the steel plate body provided with specific angles, to further enhance the reliability of fixation after reduction, thereby effectively guaranteeing to assist in stable reduction and healing of the fracture site.

STYLET SCREW DRIVER

A stylet screw driver assembly having a screw driver/ratcheting handle assembly which houses a stylet, pre-assembled to a set length based on the screw length in use, fixed in place by a spring loaded button mechanism located on the proximal end of the ratcheting handle. The spring loaded button mates with the stylet assembly, providing various stylet protrusion lengths.

IMPLANT

An implant including an implant body to be inserted into biological tissue, the implant body having a hollow portion that penetrates the implant body, and an antibacterial property-imparting means that imparts an antibacterial property to at least the hollow portion of the implant body.

Compression device, kit, and method

A compression device made of a superelastic material having a peripheral portion with an upper surface, a lower surface, and a central opening extending therethrough is provided. One or more resilient teeth project inward of the peripheral portion into the central opening and are configured to exert a biasing force in an axial direction when deformed in a direction opposite the axial direction.

Method of fastening a tissue or a corresponding prosthetic element in an opening provided in a human or animal bone and fastener suitable for the method

A graft or prosthetic element suitable, e.g., for replacing a tendon or ligament is fastened in a bone tunnel or blind opening with the aid of a fastener. In a first step, the graft or prosthetic element is press-fitted in the tunnel or opening by forcing the fastener into the opening or by positioning the fastener in the opening and then expanding it, wherein the fastener is in contact with the graft or prosthetic element and with the bone wall of the tunnel or blind opening. In a second step, the fastener is anchored in the bone wall of the tunnel or blind opening with the aid of a liquefiable material which is liquefied in the vicinity of the bone wall where it is in contact with the fastener and by making the liquefied material penetrate into the bone wall.
