System and method for robotically assisting a surgical procedure
Methods and systems are provided for robotic assisted surgery. A robotic system includes a localizer, a surgical robotic manipulator, an end effector configured to be removably coupled to the manipulator, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive signals from the localizer, determine a final position of a cavity creation tool used to penetrate a portion of a patient's anatomy based on the signals received from the localizer, and determine an implant insertion path for an implant to be inserted into a final implant position within the portion of the patient's anatomy, wherein the final implant position corresponds to the final position of the cavity creation tool. The controller is also configured to move the end effector with the implant coupled thereto such that the implant moves along the implant insertion path, and terminate the movement of the end effector when the implant reaches the final implant position.
Methods and devices for less invasive glenoid replacement
The invention relates to a glenoid (shoulder socket) implant prosthesis, a humeral implant prosthesis, devices for implanting glenoid and humeral implant prostheses, and less invasive methods of their use for the treatment of an injured or damaged shoulder.
BONE MATERIAL DISPENSING DEVICE
A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The proximal end has a first opening and the distal end has a second opening. The first opening and the second opening are configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger. A tubular member is provided that is pivotably connected to the housing and is configured for lateral movement relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The tubular member comprises a proximal opening, a distal opening and a channel disposed therebetween. The proximal opening, the distal opening and the channel of the tubular member are configured to receive at least the portion of the plunger. The tubular member is movable in a first position to align the proximal opening of the tubular member with the second opening of the housing to allow the tubular member to receive at least the portion of the plunger to dispense the bone material. A method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing device is also provided.
BONE MATERIAL DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH LOCKING MEMBER
A bone material dispensing device is provided. The bone material dispensing device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. The proximal end having a first opening and the distal end having a second opening. The first opening and the second opening configured to slidably receive at least a portion of a plunger. A locking member is provided that is pivotably connected to an upper surface of the housing and extends adjacent to the upper surface of the housing. The locking member comprises a locking surface extending adjacent to the distal end of the housing configured to engage a portion of a tubular member, a funnel, or a combination thereof. The locking member is movable in a locking position to lock the portion of the tubular member, the funnel, or the combination thereof with the housing. A bone material dispensing system and a method of implanting bone material with the bone material dispensing system are also provided.
Delivery of apparatus and methods for vertebrostening
Systems and methods of delivering and deploying a stent into a curvilinear cavity within a vertebral body or other bony or body structure. In some instances, the system can include an elongate shaft for delivering a self-expanding, cement-directing stent and devices that may be used to perform the steps to deliver and deploy the stent.
BONE STENT AND PORT
A device is disclosed that includes a bone stent positioned within a bony access channel formed within a vertebra. The bony access channel may extends from an outer end of the vertebra through an endplate. The device includes an end cap attached to a proximal end portion of the bone stent and is configured to, post-operatively, open to allow a reintroduction of a material to a spinal intradiscal space or intervertebral disc and to seal access to the spinal intradiscal space or the intervertebral disc after the reintroduction of the material.
Bone Filling Systems, Devices, and Methods of Use
The systems, devices and methods can deliver a therapeutic material within a cavity of a joint while preventing leakage into the joint space. The systems may include a delivery device configured to deliver a therapeutic material to a treatment area within a bone cavity of a bone. The device may include a containment device. The containment device may include a body having a first end, a second, and a length there between, and an expandable member disposed at the first end of the body so as to cover the first end. The expandable member may be configured to move between an expanded state and a collapsed state. The system may further include an access device that includes a first channel and a second channel. The first channel may be configured to receive the expandable containment device and the second channel may be configured to receive the delivery device.
