Method and apparatus for delivering cement paste into a bone cavity
A technique for simultaneously forming a plurality of paste filled tunnels. The plurality of paste filled tunnels are connected to a surgical tube directly or indirectly and emptied one after another, until a desired amount of the paste is injected into a bone cavity, organ or a tissue via the surgical tube. The paste may be a bone cement paste, a drug powder paste, viscous fluid or gel. The injected bone cement paste will set in the bone cavity to act as a medical implant.
MULTICHANNEL CANNULA AND METHODS FOR USING SAME
A method for delivering a substance to bone includes placing a stabilizing wire in a bone, creating a hole in the bone around the stabilizing wire, and providing a multichannel cannula, comprising. The multichannel cannula includes a first channel having an open proximal end and an open distal end, the first channel being configured to receive the stabilizing wire, and a second channel having an inlet portal and an exit portal that are in fluid communication. The method further includes inserting the multichannel cannula into the hole in the bone such that the first channel receives the stabilizing wire, and delivering the substance into the bone by introducing the substance into the inlet portal of the second channel such that the substance exits the second channel through the exit portal.
SURGICAL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A surgical instrument includes a body having an actuator and being connectable with a pressurized fluid source. A first member is connected with the body and the fluid source. The first member is configured for connection with an implant disposable between a contracted configuration and an expanded configuration. A second member defines a cavity configured for disposal of the first member and the expandable implant. The second member is connected with the actuator for selective translation relative to the first member to position the implant in the contracted configuration. Systems, implants and methods are disclosed.
BONE GRAFT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH POSITIONING HANDLE
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for near-simultaneous and integrated delivery of bone graft material and placement of surgical cages or other medical implants in a patient's spine. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device according to various embodiments delivers and disperses biologic material through a fusion cage to a disc space and, without withdrawal from the surgical site, may detach the fusion cage for deposit. The integrated fusion cage and graft delivery device is formed such that a hollow tube and plunger selectively and controllably place bone graft material and a fusion cage in or adjacent to the bone graft receiving area. In certain embodiments, the integrated fusion cage is an expandable integrated fusion cage.
METHOD FOR LUBRICATING AN ARTIFICIAL CONTACTING SURFACE
A method for implanting a medical device for implantation in a mammal joint. The method comprising the steps of creating an opening reaching from outside of the human body into the joint, providing said artificial contacting surface to said joint, fixating the artificial contacting surface to the joint, implanting said reservoir in the human body, and lubricating the artificial contacting surface with use of a lubricating fluid contained in said reservoir.
ORTHOPEDIC FIXATION DEVICES AND METHODS OF INSTALLATION THEREOF
The present invention is generally directed to orthopedic fixation devices that comprise a pre-assembled double headed tulip assembly, having two tulip elements to receive rods, wherein the assembly may be configured to receive a bone fastener in at least one of the tulip elements. At least one of the tulip elements may comprise a saddle and a ring to attach the double headed tulip to a bone fastener.
BONE GRAFT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
The present invention relates to an apparatus, system and method for delivery of bone graft material in a patient's spine. The graft delivery device according to various embodiments delivers and disperses biologic material to a disc space and without withdrawal from the surgical site. In various embodiments, the graft delivery device includes an elongate hollow tube configured to receive bone graft material, a plunger adapted to extend in the elongate hollow tube and urge the bone graft material through the elongate hollow tube, and an injection device (such as a syringe) configured to contain the bone graft material therein and to connect to an open proximal end of the elongate hollow tube, to discharge the bone graft material from the first injection device into the elongate hollow tube.
Bone graft injection device
Apparatus is provided that includes a surgical tool for use with solid particles and a physiological liquid solution. The surgical tool includes (a) a shaft unit, which is shaped so as to define a delivery lumen, and a distal opening, which is disposed within 10 mm of a distal end of the shaft unit, in fluid communication with the delivery lumen; (b) a composition source, which is coupled in fluid communication with the delivery lumen, and which is configured to provide a solid-liquid composition of the solid particles and the physiological liquid solution; and (c) a pump, which is configured to pump the solid-liquid composition through the distal opening via the delivery lumen.
