Bone implant holding and shaping tray

A bone implant holding and shaping tray is provided. The tray includes a first segment having a distal end and a first surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material. The tray includes a second segment having a second surface sized to hold and shape at least a portion of the bone implant with bone material, the second segment having a proximal end configured to be coupled to the distal end of the first segment so as to extend the first surface to hold and shape the bone implant. An intervertebral fusion device is disclosed. The intervertebral fusion device comprises a superior component (40), an inferior component (60) and a core component (10). The superior component (40) has a superior component top side and a superior component bottom side and is configured to be received in an intervertebral space between first and second vertebrae whereby the superior component top side abuts against the first vertebra. The inferior component (60) has an inferior component top side and an inferior component bottom side and is configured to be received in the intervertebral space whereby the inferior component bottom side abuts against the second vertebra. The superior component bottom side and the inferior component top side oppose each other when the superior and inferior components (40, 60) are received in the intervertebral space. The core component (10) is configured for insertion between the superior and inferior components (40, 60) whereby a separation between the superior and inferior components is determined. The core component (10) comprises a retention mechanism which moves between a contracted condition and an expanded condition. The core component (10) is insertable between the superior and inferior components (40, 60) when the retention mechanism is in the contracted condition. The retention mechanism inter-engages with the superior component (40) and the inferior component (60) when in the expanded condition and when the core component (10) is received between the superior and inferior components to thereby present resistance to movement of the core component from between the superior and inferior components.

The system further includes a computer having a display configured to graphical display quantitative measurement data to support rapid assimilation of the information. The kinetic assessment measures joint alignment under loading that will be similar to that of a final joint installation. The kinetic assessment can use trial or permanent prosthetic components. Furthermore, adjustments can be made to the applied load magnitude, position of load, and joint alignment by various means to fine-tune an installation.

A motion preserving spinal implant is presented for use in placement between intervertebral space for total replacement of a degenerated spinal disc. The motion preserving spinal implant has a pair of end plates sandwiched around an inner core and an outer core, with the inner core being concentrically positioned within the outer core. The outer core encapsulates the inner core and provides adequate sealing of the inner core while maintaining flexibility and elasticity to advantageously support physiological movements. The inner core is constructed of an elastomeric material and acts as a solid diaphragm in order to resist and withstand localized compression and other forces. The end plates provide anchoring and fusion with adjoining vertebra and hold the inner and outer cores in place. The motion preserving spinal implant restores the normal height and natural function of the degenerated spinal disc and preserves the natural motion of the spine.
