Provided is a method for converting a modular anatomic shoulder implant to a modular reverse shoulder implant, wherein the modular anatomic shoulder implant and the modular reverse shoulder implant have novel configurations.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PATIENT-SPECIFIC PROSTHESIS FOR A FRACTURED LONG BONE

Provided is a method of manufacturing a prosthesis for a fractured long bone of a patient, the method including the steps of: A) providing data representative of the fractured long bone in a patient; B) based on said data, designing the prosthesis specifically to the patient, the prosthesis including a stem part that is configured to secure fragment(s) of the fractured long bone at chosen securing position(s) that will apply chosen mechanical stress onto the bone fragments and reduce the risk of osteonecrosis of the bone fragments.

Patient specific alignment guide with cutting surface and laser indicator

A patient-specific guiding system for guiding an instrument relative to a portion of an anatomical feature of a patient. The patient-specific guiding system includes a patient-specific guide. The guide includes a first portion having a first patient-specific inner surface that conforms to a first surface of the anatomical feature and an outer surface opposite the first patient-specific inner surface. The first portion also includes a guide surface for use in guiding the instrument relative to the anatomical feature. The guide also includes a second portion having a second patient-specific inner surface that conforms to a second surface of the anatomical feature and an outer surface opposite the second patient-specific inner surface. The second portion is removably connected to the first portion.

SURGICAL TOOL FOR EXPANDABLE CAGE

A surgical tool for an expandable cage, the surgical tool including a hollow guide part, a first end of which is coupled to the cage, and a second end of which has a display part on which a numerical expansion value of the cage is displayed, and a driving part which is inserted into the guide part, the driving part being configured to rotate by being coupled to a shaft of the cage at an end thereof so as to expand the cage. According to the surgical tool for an expandable cage, the guide part is provided with the display part such that the numerical expansion value of the cage can be checked from the outside, thereby enabling stable surgery.

Periprosthetic shoulder fracture repair

A periprosthetic fracture repair solution that provides a variety of fracture fixation options should a fracture occur after total hip, knee, or especially a total shoulder arthroplasty, and provides associated methods and apparatus for application of provided fixation. The ability to pre-engineer fracture fixation contingent solutions into humeral components provides for a distinct clinical advantage in the planning and execution for periprosthetic fracture fixation. Said methods and apparatus include targeting devices which allow for intimate association of fixed angle locking screws in pre-drilled holes in an existing prosthetic or other components including additional fixation components. Such apparatus and methods further include the use of alignment devices and other components to allow for ease of repair of periprosthetic fractures utilizing the pre-engineered solutions. Such targeting devices are required in specific circumstances as the prosthetics may prevent x-ray imaging and consequently free hand alignment.

Expandable interbody spacer

An expandable interbody spacer for the spine is provided. The spacer includes upper and lower endplates simultaneously movable with respect to a housing along an axis transverse to a longitudinal axis to increase or decrease the height of the spacer selectably along both an anterior side and a posterior side for uniform expansion/contraction of the endplates or only along the anterior side for angular expansion/contraction of the endplates. A spacer deployment instrument is provided that is selectable to effect uniform or angular expansion/contraction. When uniform expansion/contraction is selected a gear on an anterior rod is engaged with a gear on a posterior rod to simultaneously rotate both rods in opposite directions. Opposite threads on actuators of the spacer effect translation of the actuators in the same direction along the longitudinal axis.

CUSTOMIZED INTERVERTEBRAL PROSTHETIC DISC WITH SHOCK ABSORPTION
20220117752 · 2022-04-21 ·

A prosthesis system comprises plates that can be positioned against vertebrae and a selected resilient core that can be positioned between the plates to allow the plates to articulate. The selected resilient core can be chosen from a plurality of cores in response to patient characteristics, such as age and/or intervertebral mobility, such that the prosthesis implanted in the patient is tailored to the needs of the patient. The plurality of cores may comprise cores with different resiliencies, and one of the cores can be selected such that the upper and lower plates articulate with the desired shock absorbing resiliency and/or maximum angle of inclination when the one selected core is positioned between the plates.

METHOD OF DESIGNING AND POSITIONING A MEDICAL IMPLANT AND AN IMPLANT COMPRISING A POSITIONING MARK
20220117743 · 2022-04-21 · ·

The present invention relates to a method for designing an implant comprising designing a contour curvature of the implant so that an articulating surface of the implant is designed to correspond to a simulated healthy articulating surface of a damaged articulating surface of a joint. The implant is provided with at least one positioning mark designed to be used for determining the orientation in which the implant is to be placed in a recess made in a damaged articulating surface of a joint. Further, the present invention relates to methods for positioning and inserting a medical implant in a recess.

GRAFT PREPARATION STATION FOR REPAIRING BONE DEFECTS

This disclosure relates to a graft preparation station and methods for repairing bone defects. The station described herein may be utilized for dimensioning a graft prior to positioning the shaped graft at a surgical site.
