A surgical or arthroscopic method for resurfacing at least one surface of a hip joint of a human patient, using a medical device comprising an artificial hip joint surface, wherein the hip joint surface comprising an acetabulum surface and a caput femur surface, said method comprising the steps of: creating at least one hole passing into the hip joint, dissecting and preparing the hip joint, introducing at least one artificial hip joint surface, comprising at least one of an artificial acetabulum surface and an artificial caput femur surface, wherein said at least one artificial hip joint surface, comprising a first sealing member, creating a sealed hollow space between said first sealing member and one of the acetabulum surface or said artificial acetabulum surface and one of the caput femur surface or said artificial caput femur surface, selecting at least one artificial hip joint surface and injecting a material into said hollow space.
TRIAL FEMORAL HEAD PROSTHESIS
A trial femoral head for use in a trial fitting of a hip prosthesis, the head having an outer surface and a plurality of cavities configured to mate with a male connection member of a femoral stem component, each cavity having an opening located in the outer surface of the head, each opening being of a different size such that when the male connection member of the femoral stem component is mated with a first cavity it is received at a first depth, and when it is mated with a second cavity it is received at a second depth.
Applications of diffusion hardening techniques
A device, for example a medical implant, and a method of making the same, the device having a metal or metal alloy substrate, for example cobalt chrome, and a diffusion hardened metallic surface, for example a plasma carburized surface, contacting a non-diffusion hardened surface or a diffusion hardened surface having a diffusion hardening species different from that of the opposing surface.
FEMORAL TRIALLING KIT AND ASSEMBLY
A femoral trialling kit and method for assessing acetabular cup orientation during a left hip joint surgical procedure and a right hip joint surgical procedure are described. The kit includes a trial femoral head having an inner wall defining a cavity extending along a head axis and a visual alignment guide on an outer surface of the trial femoral head and a trial femoral neck having a taper at a free end, the taper being receivable within the cavity. One of the taper and the inner wall has a first anti-rotation feature and a second anti-rotation feature, the first anti-rotation feature and the second anti-rotation feature being inclined, and the other of the taper and the inner wall has a third anti-rotation feature. The trial femoral head is attachable to the trial femoral neck in a first angular configuration corresponding to a right hip joint, in which the third anti-rotation feature and the first anti-rotation feature engage, and a second angular configuration corresponding to a left hip joint, wherein the third anti-rotation feature and the second anti-rotation feature engage.
IMPLANT DEVICE
Systems and methods to evaluate a joint implant device are provided. The joint implant device can include a socket that at least partially receives a first joint component. The joint implant device can include a socket housing coupled with the socket. The joint implant device can include a first sensor, a second sensor, and a third sensor each disposed between the socket and the socket housing. The joint implant device can include a socket extension coupled with the socket. The joint implant device can include a socket housing extension coupled with the socket housing. The joint implant device can include a fourth sensor disposed between the socket extension and the socket housing extension. At least three of the first sensor, the second sensor, the third sensor, or the fourth sensor can detect a force between the socket and the first joint component.
Prosthesis installation and assembly
A system and method for improving assembly of a modular prosthesis, particularly a femoral stem. The system and method may include implementation of assembly systems for modular prosthesis having one or more intermediate components between a pair of end components such as a stem and a head. Grip structures are provided on non-aligned assembly axes and holders are used for each phase to engage appropriate grip structures for joinder of components having aligned assembly axes.
Artificial hip joint comprising composite ball
An artificial hip joint with a composite ball head includes an artificial acetabulum (1) and a composite ball head (2); wherein an internal surface of the artificial acetabulum (1) cooperates with an external surface of the composite ball head (2), and the composite ball head (2) can rotate within the artificial acetabulum (1); the internal surface of the artificial acetabulum (1) is directly in contact with the composite ball head (2) without a liner therebetween; the composite ball head (2) comprises a metal ball head (22) and a non-metallic shell (21) wrapped around an external surface of the metal ball head (22). For the composite ball head (2), the metal ball head (22) is wrapped with a non-metallic shell (21), which has large supporting force capability, has strong bearing capacity, effectively reduces the contact stress of the non-metallic shell (21), is stable and reliable.
SYSTEM FOR PERCUTANEOUSLY ADMINISTERING REDUCED PRESSURE TREATMENT USING BALLOON DISSECTION
A reduced pressure delivery system for applying reduced pressure tissue treatment to a tissue site is provided. The system includes a manifold delivery tube and a balloon having an inner space. The balloon is capable of assuming collapsed and expanded positions. The system further includes a manifold having a plurality of flow channels. The manifold is disposed within the inner space of the balloon. A sharp tip is configured to be delivered within the manifold delivery tube to puncture the balloon.
Line of dual mobility joint implant systems
A line of joint implant systems includes an implant including a cup to be affixed in one of the elements of the considered joint, defining a smooth inner cavity of substantially hemispherical shape. The implant also includes an insert, mobile within the inner cavity of the fixation cup and having its smooth outer surface intended to cooperate by ball-and-socket joint with the inner cavity, and defining in turn a smooth inner cavity of substantially hemispherical shape. The implant further includes a head or ball, solid with a second element of the joint, of spherical shape, intended to be received in the inner cavity of the mobile insert and to form a second ball-and-socket joint. The ratio of the inner diameter of the inner cavity of the fixation cup to the inner diameter of the inner cavity of the mobile insert is constant, whatever the diameter of the selected ball.
