A surgical blade (180) designed for use with an acetabular cup remover (30). The blade includes a body (182) from which teeth (190) extend distally forward. The body and teeth are disposed around the section of a sphere. On each side of the longitudinal axis of the blade body there is an outer tooth and at least two inner teeth. The teeth are further shaped so that one each side of the longitudinal axis through the blade body there are at least two adjacent inner teeth that have rake surfaces located along axes that, extending from the outer surface of the blade body to the inner surface of the blade body, do not intersect.

CUTTING DEVICE FOR REVISION ARTHROPLASTY

A cutting device is provided that includes a pair of cutting blades joined at a pivot point. The cutting blades are driven by an actuator to cause the cutting blades to pivot about the pivot point. The cutting device is configured to remove material underneath a surface of an implant installed on a bone during a revision arthroplasty procedure. The cutting device may travel along a length of the bone just underneath the surface of the implant to remove material and free the implant from the bone. A method for removing material underneath a surface of an implant installed on the bone is also provided. A system for removing material underneath the surface of an implant installed on the bone with the cutting device is also provided.

BONE GRAFT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USE

A bone graft delivery system for delivering graft material into a surgical site. The delivery system includes an elongate hollow tube constructed to receive the bone graft material and having a hollow interior and indicia formed on an exterior surface of the elongate hollow tube. The delivery system also includes a plunger adapted to extend in the elongate hollow tube and to form a substantially congruent fit with the hollow interior of the elongate hollow tube such that the plunger is precluded from rotating within the elongate hollow tube. The plunger is adapted to urge bone graft material through the elongate hollow tube to deliver bone graft material through an opening thereof.

STEERABLE IMPLANT, INSTALLER, AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION

A spine implant for a TLIF surgical procedure is configured to be guided into place during implantation in conjunction with a complementary insertion instrument. The cage of the implant is constrained to a limited range of rotation about a pivoting post carried by the cage. The insertion instrument is configured to hold the post while controllably rotating the cage relative to the post in order to angularly position the implant during implantation. Range of rotational motion is controlled by the configuration of an opening in and end of the cage and a groove in the pivot post. A retaining pin of the implant extends from the cage into the groove of the post to rotationally connect the cage to the post.

Externally driven expandable interbody and related methods

An expandable implant having superior and inferior endplates is disclosed. The superior endplate includes a first inside surface having a crossbar extending in the widthwise direction. The inferior endplate includes a second inside surface having a medial support structure, a threaded core, and a receiving cavity. A threaded locking screw may be disposed in the threaded core, and a proximal saddle may be disposed in the receiving cavity. In various embodiments, in a locked position, a relative position of the inferior endplate with respect to the superior endplate is fixed, and the threaded locking screw directly contacts, pushes, applies a force against, and/or compresses, the proximal saddle, the proximal saddle directly contacts, pushes, applies a force against, and/or compresses the crossbar, the crossbar directly contacts, pushes, applies a force against, and/or compresses the distal saddle, and the distal saddle directly contacts and is engaged against the second interior distal wall.

Baseplate trial holding apparatus and knee joint implant surgical instrument set including the same

A baseplate trial holding apparatus which holds a baseplate trial disposed in a proximal tibia during total knee arthroplasty or revision total knee arthroplasty, and includes a keel location setting part for setting an insertion location of a keel punch, and a knee joint implant surgical instrument set including the same.

SPINAL IMPLANTS AND INSTRUMENTS

An intervertebral spacer inserter includes a sleeve having a longitudinal axis, a hollow sleeve bore extending through the sleeve along the longitudinal axis, a sleeve tip end and an opening of a passage disposed in the sleeve tip end. The passage extends into the sleeve to the sleeve shaft along a passage axis that intersects the longitudinal axis at an angle less than about 90°. A sliding tip with an elongated slot is in contact with the sleeve tip end and is moveable with respect to the sleeve tip end between a first position with the opening accessible through the elongated slot and disposed adjacent a first end of the elongated slot and a second position with the opening accessible through the elongated slot and disposed adjacent a second end of the elongated slot opposite the first end.

Intervertebral devices and systems, and methods of their use, are disclosed having configurations suitable for placement between two adjacent vertebrae, replacing the functionality of the disc therebetween. Intervertebral devices and systems contemplated herein are implantable devices intended for replacement of a vertebral disc, which may have deteriorated due to disease for example. The intervertebral devices and systems are configured to allow for ample placement of therapeutic agents therein, including bone growth enhancement material, which may lead to better fusion between adjacent vertebral bones. The intervertebral devices and systems are configured for use in minimally invasive procedures, if desired.

Bi-directional fixating transvertebral body screws, zero-profile horizontal intervertebral miniplates, total intervertebral body fusion devices, and posterior motion-calibrating interarticulating joint stapling device for spinal fusion

An apparatus and method for joining members together using a self-drilling screw apparatus or stapling apparatus are disclosed. The screw apparatus includes a worm drive screw, a spur gear and superior and inferior screws which turn simultaneously in a bi-directional manner. A rotating mechanism drives the first and second screw members in opposite directions and causes the screw members to embed themselves in the members to be joined. The screw apparatus can be used to join members such as bones, portions of the spinal column, vertebral bodies, wood, building materials, metals, masonry, or plastics. A device employing two screws (two-in-one) can be combined with a capping horizontal mini-plate. A device employing three screws can be combined in enclosures (three-in-one). The stapling apparatus includes grip handles, transmission linkages, a drive rod a fulcrum and a cylinder. The staple has superior and inferior segments with serrated interfaces, a teethed unidirectional locking mechanism and four facet piercing elements. The staples can be also be used to join members such as bones, portions of the spinal column, or vertebral bodies.
