ABSORBENT ARTICLE
(Object) To prevent leakage of body fluids and to readily transmit pressure from both sides to a center portion in a width direction by bringing an absorbent article into close contact with a crotch area extending from a body fluid discharge portion to a start position of the intergluteal cleft.
(Means of Achieving the Object) A pair of right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) that extend in an approximately longitudinal direction is formed on a surface of a liquid permeable top sheet (3). The compressed grooves (8) have separation distance reduced regions (11), in which a separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves is reduced, formed at the back of a region corresponding to a body fluid discharge portion (H) of a wearer, and also have vastly enlarged portions (10), in which widths of the compressed grooves (8) are enlarged, formed at positions within the separation distance reduced regions (11) and where the separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) becomes minimum.
Double gusset cloth diaper along with method for making the same
A double gusset cloth diaper including an inner surface and an outer surface forming an hourglass shape, having a groin area proximate a center line of the reusable diaper and defining at least one recess therebetween. A fluid absorbent material is removably located in the recess through the opening. A first gusset is attached to the reusable diaper to form a first seal between the inner surface and the legs of the user. A second gusset is attached to the reusable diaper proximate the first gusset. The gussets are formed of an elastic material attached to the wrong side of the inner surface in a channel formed by stitching the inner surface to form channels.
Absorbent article with an absorbent layer having an opening extending therethrough
An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin or incontinence pad has longitudinal side edges, transversal end edges, a fluid permeable topsheet, a fluid impermeable backsheet and an absorbent core located between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core includes a first absorbent layer having an opening extending therethrough and a fluid flow control structure located between said first absorbent layer and said backsheet. The first absorbent layer has a longitudinal front portion and a longitudinal back portion and a narrow transversal transition located between said front portion and said back portion. The width of the narrow transversal transition is 50-75% of the widest transversal width of the front portion of the first absorbent layer and 20-50% of the longitudinal length of the opening is located in the front portion of the first absorbent layer.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES WITH BARRIER LEG CUFFS HAVING A BACKFOLDED INNER CUFF
Absorbent articles having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core disposed at least partially between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a pair of barrier leg cuffs is provided. Each barrier leg cuff is formed from a single web of material and has a backfolded inner cuff with an inner folded edge, a backfold folded edge, an inner elastic element, and a backfold elastic element. The inner elastic element may be disposed proximate the inner folded edge, and the backfold elastic element may be disposed proximate the backfold folded edge. At least a portion of the backfolded inner cuff may be configured to overlap the topsheet when the absorbent article is in a flat, uncontracted configuration.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent article (10) can have an improved feeling of comfort next to the skin of the wearer. The absorbent article (10) can have a longitudinal direction (X), a transverse direction (Y), and a depth direction (Z). The absorbent article (10) can have a topsheet layer (30), a backsheet layer (40), and an absorbent core (50) positioned between the topsheet layer (30) and the backsheet layer (40). The topsheet layer (30) can have a central layer (32) and a pair of side layers (34, 36). Each of the side layers (34, 36) has a folded portion (90, 124) capable of providing an improved feeling of comfort next to the skin of the wearer.
Elastic contained within a jointly folded top cover and bottom cover and process of making
An absorbent article is disclosed. The absorbent article is a pad that includes a top cover and a lower baffle. The absorbent article also includes a shaping element. The shaping element is folded within the top cover and the absorbent article. The fold is directed toward the baffle. The top cover therefore forms a terminal seam on the lower surface of the baffle. A process is also disclosed. The process includes folding the shaping element into the edges of the top cover and the baffle as the top cover and the baffle form a single fold.
Absorbent article having enhanced leakage protection
An absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) capable of inhibiting leakage of a fluid insult generally extends in a plane defined by a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction. The absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) contains fluid-shrinkable members (60,61), a topsheet (11;611;711;811), and a base pad (12;812) that includes a baffle (28;828) and an absorbent core (30) positioned between the topsheet (11;611;711;811) and the baffle (28;828). The topsheet (11;611;711;811) extends in the longitudinal direction to define a distal end (153) and an opposing proximal end (152). At least a portion of the proximal end (152) remains generally unbonded to the baffle (28;828). The fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) extend in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) so that at least a portion of the fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) are located adjacent to the proximal end (152) of the topsheet (11;611;711;811). Thus, when the fluid-shrinkable members (60,61) contract upon contacting a fluid insult, the proximal end (152) of the topsheet (11;611;711;811) can raise outwardly from the plane of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020). The raised area creates a barrier to the leakage of fluids from the center of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) towards its end. Contraction of the fluid-shrinkable members can also cause an outer region of the topsheet (11;611;711;811) to raise outwardly from the plane of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) to create a barrier to the leakage of fluid from the center of the absorbent article (20;620;720;820;920;1020) towards the side edge. Because such barriers are generally created only after contact with a fluid insult, their effectiveness is not diminished through use of the article prior to the insult.
Pant-like disposable absorbent articles with improved chassis construction
Pant-like absorbent articles having improved chassis structures are disclosed. One pant-like garment comprises a front panel comprising a front garment-side layer, a front body side layer, and front elastic members therebetween, and a rear panel comprising a rear garment-side layer, a rear bodyside layer, and rear elastic members between the rear garment-side layer and the rear bodyside layer, a portion of the rear elastic members proximate a rear waist end edge are being uncovered by one of the rear garment-side layer and the rear bodyside layer. The garment may further comprise a rear secondary elastic member disposed overlapping the uncovered portion of the rear elastic members, and wherein one of the rear garment-side layer and the rear bodyside layer is folded over the rear panel secondary elastic member and overlaps the other one of the rear garment-side layer and the rear bodyside layer.
