The present invention relates to an absorbent article with a waist guard disposed in the back waist region such that at least a first pocket is formed. The waist guard is formed of at least a first waist guard sheet and a second waist guard sheet. Each of the first and second waist guard sheet forms a portion of the first pocket. The first waist guard sheet is different from the second waist guard sheet, the difference being selected from the group consisting of basis weight, air permeability, caliper, Low Surface Tension Fluid Strikethrough Time, Opacity, and combinations thereof.

Absorbent Article with Leak-Proof Containment Flaps

An absorbent article is disclosed that has various leak-proof features. The absorbent article, for instance, includes containment flaps that hold body exudates within the garment. The containment flaps are attached to the absorbent article by a plurality of bond lines at each end of the containment flaps. In order to restrict fluids from flowing between the bond lines, the containment flaps are further bonded at each end by a transverse bond pattern. In one embodiment, the transverse bond pattern can be formed from ultrasonic point bonds. The transverse bond patterns not only restrict leaks but also is aesthetically pleasing.

Pant-type wearable article

Disclosed is a wearable article continuous in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction comprising a front elastic belt region, a back elastic belt region, a crotch region, a waist opening and two leg openings; the crotch region extending longitudinally between the front elastic belt region and the back elastic belt region; the front elastic belt region having an area of A1, the crotch region having an area of A2, the back elastic belt region having an area of A3, the front elastic belt region having a front placement distance L8, and the back elastic belt region having a back placement distance L9 according to the measurements herein; wherein the total of A1, A2 and A3 is from about 1250 cm.sup.2 to about 1400 cm.sup.2, and having a relationship of A3>A1>A2; and wherein the ratio of L8 to L9 is no more than about 0.8.

Stretch laminate, method of making, and absorbent article

A stretch laminate includes a first layer including an elastomer film, the first layer having a surface, and a second layer including a nonwoven material, the second layer having a surface that is attached to the surface of the first layer. The tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the stretch laminate is within about 2.5 N/cm of the tensile behavior in the transverse direction of the film at an engineering strain of about 1.5, and exists independent of mechanical activation. A method of making the stretch laminate and an absorbent article having at least one region defined by the stretch laminate are also provided.

The disclosure relates to absorbent articles having a front belt and a rear belt, each comprising a central zone and first and second peripheral zones, the zones extending substantially in transverse direction of the absorbent article. The at least first belt provides improved fit in the low motion zone of a wearer while being able to adapt easily to the motion of the wearer outside the low motion zone.

Disposable diaper

A disposable diaper includes a waist opening and a pair of leg openings with a composite stretchable member. The composite stretchable member includes first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts and elastic members arranged therebetween. Each of the first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts is provided with a plurality of convex-concave regions including convex and concave parts. At least one non-shaped region separates the convex-concave regions from each other in the longitudinal direction. The first and second nonwoven fabric sheet parts are overlaid so that the convex-concave regions of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part and the second nonwoven fabric sheet part adjoin each other and the non-shaped regions of the first nonwoven fabric sheet part and the second nonwoven fabric sheet part are separated from each other and are joined with each other by an adhesive applied to the elastic members.

ELASTOMERIC LAMINATE WITH ACTIVATION THICKNESS

An elastomeric laminate is extensible in a first direction and has a first laminate surface; a second laminate surface substantially opposite the first laminate surface; and a laminate thickness, T, extending between the first and second laminate surfaces. A pre-SELFed coverstock layer forms the first laminate surface. The pre-SELF coverstock layer has a primary activation pattern, wherein the primary activation pattern includes SELF-specific land areas that extend in the first direction and one or more activation thicknesses. Each activation thickness is less than the laminate thickness, T. The elastomeric laminate also has an elastomeric layer joined to the pre-SELFed coverstock layer. The elastomeric layer forms the second laminate surface. The elastomeric laminate may be a zero strain laminate, a gathered laminate, or a hybrid gathered laminate.
