Elastic strap part for diaper closure

An elastic diaper part has an inelastic substrate layer having a wide inner end for connection to a diaper and a narrow and opposite outer end spaced in a stretch direction from the inner end, narrower than the inner end, and adapted for connection to a closure. An elastic film is juxtaposed and generally contiguous with the substrate layer, and there is an array of parallel adhesive strips extending transversely of the direction between the substrate layer and the elastic film. Each strip adheres the film to the substrate layer, and the strips are each of a respective strip width and separated by spaces each of a respective spacing width. The strip and/or spacing width varies from the inner end to the outer end such that the diaper part stretches uniformly between its inner and outer ends when stretched in the direction.

An area between a backside leg opening unit and a straight line passing through a center in the widthwise direction and parallel to the longitudinal direction is larger than an area between a foreside leg opening unit and a straight line passing through a center of the longitudinal direction of the leg opening unit and extending in the longitudinal direction. A buttocks part stretching unit running across a crotch region and the back waistline region and stretchable in the longitudinal direction is disposed at an outside of the widthwise direction than the leg stretching unit. A front end of the buttocks part stretching unit is positioned more backward than a center of the longitudinal direction of the leg opening unit.

In one embodiment, an array of packages may comprise two or more different sizes of disposable absorbent articles. The Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of a second absorbent article may be equal to or greater than a Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of a first absorbent article. And, an Array Average Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of first and second packages of the array may be from about 1.7 to about 6.0.

In one embodiment, an array of packages may comprise two or more different sizes of disposable absorbent articles. The Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of a second absorbent article may be equal to or greater than a Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of a first absorbent article. And, an Array Average Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette of first and second packages of the array may be from about 1.7 to about 6.0. In another embodiment, a disposable absorbent article has a Product Waist-to-Side Silhouette from 1.7 to about 6.

In another example the product may have a liquid control structure overlying a liquid impermeable backsheet, and have an average Liquid Release Ratio of at least 3 percent. A method for collecting a urine sample from an infant is also disclosed, in which a diaper is used for collection.
