The present invention relates to a composition containing (A) a compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a salt thereof:

A pharmaceutical composition, as well as the use of composition in medical applications, are described.

A tooth whitening oral care composition is made by combining ingredients comprising flakes of a water soluble whitening film, a dye with a hue angle in the CIELAB system ranging from 200 to 320 degrees, and an orally acceptable carrier vehicle. The flakes of the water soluble whitening film comprise: (a) a film-forming polymer comprising hydroxyalkyl cellulose wherein the hydroxyalkyl cellulose has a viscosity of about 1 to about 1000 millipascal seconds (mPa.Math.s) as determined as a 2% by in the CIELAB system ranging from 200 to 320 degrees.

Described herein is a method for treating and coloring hair including un-pigmented hair. The method includes (a) providing a first composition including one or more heavy metal ion sequestrants; (b) applying the first composition to the hair; (c) providing a second composition including one or more weak acids having a pKa from 2.5 to 5; (d) applying the second composition to the hair; (e) providing a third composition including one or more direct dyes chosen from nitro dye, disperse dye, cationic dye, acid dye, basic dye, neutral azo dye and mixtures thereof, and (f) applying the third composition to the hair. The third composition is able to decrease the reflectance of un-pigmented hair in a wavelength range from 530 nm to 670 nm.

The invention relates to a composition comprising 0.01% to 15% resveratrol and 0.01% to 15% of melatonin. In a preferred embodiment, the composition comprises 5% resveratrol and 0.1% melatonin. The invention also relates to the use of the said composition to reduce hair loss and/or increase regrowth of hair in a human subject.
