The plunger rod being able to slidably move within the barrel, includes a backstop attachable to the flange of the barrel and a dose setting member secured on the backstop, configured to maintain the plunger rod in a predetermined position, the dose setting member being transversally removable from the backstop to authorize the plunger rod to move towards the backstop and abuts onto said backstop.
Injector apparatus having a clutch to inhibit forward movement of the plunger
An injector apparatus includes a housing (10.sup.1, 10.sup.2) for a cartridge or syringe, a plunger (40) for cooperating in use with the cartridge or syringe to express successive doses, a dose setting arrangement (16, 20) to select a dose volume, and a drive mechanism (22, 24) releasable to advance the plunger in respective predetermined increments of magnitude to express the successive doses. The drive mechanism includes a drive spring (22) for imparting movement directly or indirectly to the plunger (40), and the dose setting arrangement includes a dose setting element (16) moveable in a dose setting routine to define a magnitude of an increment of movement of the plunger for a given dose. The drive mechanism further includes a clutch arrangement (56) operable during the dose setting routine to inhibit forward movement of the plunger and/or to isolate the dose setting element from the force of the drive spring.
Point of use interaction playback device employing energy harvesting from ambient radio frequency communications
Devices, systems and methods are provided for playing back video or other dynamic content at a point of interaction with one or more users via a device that is configured on a sticker, label, card or other substrate. The device is self-powered and employs ambient radio frequency energy harvesting to charge a renewable, rechargeable energy storage element. The device has a display for displaying static content until dynamic content such as the video content is output in response to a user input. The display on the device can be used for outputting the video content, or the device can transmit the video content to an NFC-enabled smart phone for display without the smart phone having to download the video content from the internet.
Liquid material ejecting apparatus
Problem: To provide a liquid-material discharge device that enables easier correction of a changed discharge amount during discharge operation than conventional techniques. Solution: A liquid-material discharge device according to the present invention, which includes a discharging member having a rod-shaped body, a liquid chamber wider than the discharging member, in which a tip portion of the discharging member is disposed, a discharge port communicating with the liquid chamber, a liquid feed path that makes the liquid chamber communicate with a liquid-material reservoir, and a driving device configured to drive the discharging member, includes a discharge amount adjustment member positioned at the liquid feed path, and a member position adjustment mechanism configured to shift a position of the discharge amount adjustment member within the liquid feed path, the discharge amount adjustment member being kept from interrupting communication between the liquid chamber and the liquid-material reservoir.
NEEDLELESS INJECTOR
A needleless injector includes a first switch and a second switch that is provided to an injector enclosure for activation of a driving part. The first switch is arranged to be slidable in a predetermined direction different from a contact direction of a palm of the user, in a first region on a side surface that is a part of a surface of the injector enclosure positioned on side of the user, the first region being covered by the palm of the user in a holding state of the user, and the second switch has an upper side surface with at least a part inclined toward the side of the user to be visible from the user in a holding state of the user, and is arranged on an upper side of the injector enclosure to be able to be pressed.
MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A monitoring system comprises:
a first device (2) configured to capture an image of a medicament dosage indicated by a medicament dispensing device by an image capturing component of the first device; display the image of the medicament dosage on a display (21) of the first device; and transmit data representing the image of the medicament dosage to a second device; and computer code that when executed by a second device causes the second device (100) to: receive the data representing the image of the medicament dosage sent by the first device (2); perform optical character recognition on the data of the medicament dosage thereby to identify the dosage indicated by the medicament dispensing device; and make a non-transient record of dosage information based at least in part on the identified medicament dosage.
Drug delivery device with front loading feature
A drug delivery device adapted to receive a cartridge and hold it in a mounted position is provided, comprising a housing, an expelling assembly, and a front-loaded cartridge holder assembly adapted to receive and hold a cartridge in a mounted state. The assembly comprises cartridge holding means actuatable between a receiving state and a holding state, as well as a user operated actuation sleeve being rotationally actuatable relative to the housing between a loading state and an operational state, such that the cartridge holding means is actuated from the receiving state to the holding state when the actuation sleeve is actuated from the loading state to the operational state. The actuation sleeve is configured to enclose at least a portion of a mounted cartridge and is provided with inspection means allowing at least a portion of an enclosed cartridge portion to be visually inspected.
SMALL UNIT DOSAGE PLUNGER ROD STOPS
Plunger rod stops attach to existing syringes to limit the range of motion of the plunger, thereby to precisely control the amount of liquid that can be expelled from the syringe when the plunger rod stop is in place. In some embodiments, plunger rod stop devices generally include a body configured to attach to the plunger, and a stand-off extending from the body, configured to contact the finger flange when the plunger is depressed. In other embodiments, the plunger rod stop attaches to the finger flange or other fixed component of the syringe and the stand-off is configured to contact the plunger or plunger rod. Methods of the invention involve using the devices to interfere with the range of motion of the plunger, then reconfiguring or removing the device to allow the plunger to be moved a predetermined length, which corresponds to a precise dosage amount.
Drug Delivery Devices
An arrangement of drug delivery devices is provided with interchangeable members and non-interchangeable members.
