A syringe holder includes a syringe barrel holder having a depression which is configured to receive and engage finger tabs of a syringe and has a bottom depression surface engageable by the finger tabs. A barrel opening receives a barrel of the syringe, and includes a central longitudinal axis, a shaft channel and a set screw channel having a screw axis passing through the shaft channel. A dosing shaft extends from a first end to a second end and includes a plurality of notches between the ends. The dosing shaft is located and slideable within the shaft channel. A plunger cap includes a plunger receptacle and attaches to a first end of the dosing shaft. A socket set screw is located and engaged within the set screw channel and has a resilient end engageable with the notches of the dosing shaft.
Drive mechanism for an injection device
A drive mechanism for an injection device for setting and dispensing of a dose of a medicament includes an inner body fixable inside a housing of the injection device, the inner body including an elongated shaft extending in an axial direction. The elongated shaft includes an outer thread and a blocking structure on an outer circumference. The drive mechanism includes a tubular-shaped display member having an inner thread engaged with the outer thread of the inner body, a dose member axially displaceable between a dose setting position and a dose dispensing position relative to the inner body, and a blocking sleeve axially fixed to the dose member, rotationally fixed to the display member and including at least one blocking element to axially engage with the blocking structure to block an axial displacement of the dose member from the dose setting position towards the dose dispensing position.
DRUG DELIVERY APPARATUS
A drug delivery apparatus including a barrel to contain a substance, a piston slidable in the barrel, a supply circuit to provide input currents, an antenna affixed along the barrel to receive the input current, generate inductance with the piston, and provide output currents commensurate with a position of the piston along the piston course, and processing circuitry configured to receive the output currents, and determine a quantity of the substance inside the barrel based on the output currents.
Determination of a dose set and delivered in a medication delivery device
Sensing systems are disclosed for determining the relative rotational movements of members of a medication delivery device which are proportional to the amount of a dose set and delivered by the medication delivery device. The sensing system comprises a first sensor component secured to a first member and a second sensor component secured to a second member. During dose setting, the second member is coupled to a third member which rotates relative to the first member in proportion to the dose set. During dose delivery, the second member is coupled to a fourth member which rotates relative to the first member in proportion to the dose delivered. The sensing system separately detects the relative rotational positions of the first and second sensor components during dose setting and dose delivery, and provides outputs used to determine the amounts of the set and delivered doses. The sensing system outputs this information to a controller which determines the amount of the dose set and delivered. Related medication delivery devices and methods are also disclosed.
DOSAGE DETERMINATION USING ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY IN AN INJECTION DEVICE
A dose setting mechanism for a drug delivery device is presented that includes one or more potentiometers whereby relative motion and distances traveled between components in the dose setting mechanism are determined by monitoring and measuring changes in electrical resistance using a measuring device in electrical communication with the one or more potentiometers.
Device for controlling the intake of drugs, system for signaling and controlling the intake of drugs
Device (1) for controlling the intake of drugs, applicable to a package (50) containing one or more doses of a drug, said device (1) comprising: sensor means (21) adapted to detect the vibrational energy transferred to said package (50), in response of interactions of a user with said package (50) to release one or more doses of said drug; a processor (25) connected to said sensor means (21); wherein said processor (25) is configured to calculate intake information of said drug on the basis of the vibrational energy detected by said sensor means (21); system for signalling the intake of drugs; system (100) for controlling the intake of drugs and drug accessories (10, 20, 30, 40, 40b) comprising such device (1) applicable to drug packages.
An Injection Device With Needle Cleaning
The invention relates to a medical injection device having a needle cannula for multiple use and which needle cannula is cleaned between subsequent injections. The needle cannula is preferably cleaned at the distal tip in a cleaning assembly having a hollow cleaning chamber with a variable volume. The distal tip of the needle cannula is maintained inside the cleaning chamber between subsequent injections. The cleaning chamber is defined by an inner surface, a distal seal and a proximal seal. In order to increase the volume of the cleaning chamber during filling of the cleaning chamber one of the seals is formed as a movable plunger which is movable in one direction to expand the volume of the cleaning chamber. To release the movable plunger from the inner surface of the hollow cleaning chamber in order to commence the filling of the cleaning chamber, the movable plunger and the inner wall surface of the hollow cleaning chamber are rotatable in relation to each other during filling of the cleaning chamber.
Track-indexed syringe
A syringe including a barrel, a plunger moveably arranged within the barrel and a plunger rod for driving the plunger, and an engagement member arranged at the barrel to engage with a grooved surface on the plunger rod. This will create feedback given to a user as the plunger rod is moved relative to the barrel for driving the plunger within the barrel. The barrel and the engagement member are arranged relative to each other such that the engagement member, due to the engagement with the grooved surface of the plunger rod, will move solely in a direction generally perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the plunger rod as the plunger rod is moved relative to the barrel.
A SENSOR DEVICE FOR ATTACHMENT TO AN INJECTION DEVICE
A supplementary device configured to be releasably attached to a distal end of a drug delivery device, the supplementary device comprising primary electronics, a non-contact acceleration sensor and a low power processor. The non-contact acceleration sensor is directed towards a proximal end of the drug delivery device and the low power processor is configured to: receive the signals output from the non-contact acceleration sensor; determine based on the signals that an outer needle cap of the drug delivery device has been removed; and in response to determining that an outer needle cap of the drug delivery device has been removed, send a wake-up signal to the primary electronics of the supplementary device.
