A dispensing device for dispensing medication from a medication container. The dispensing device includes a housing, a drive member engageable with the medication container, at least one first ramp surface fixed relative to the housing, a driver movable within the housing to move the drive member for forcing medication from the medication container, the driver including at least one second ramp surface, and a plunger including at least one push module movable relative to the housing from a ready position to a plunged position. The at least one first ramp surface and the at least one second ramp surface have a complementary configuration to cause the driver to be moved to force medication from the medication container by a driving force applied to the at least one second ramp surface by the at least one push module as the at least one push module simultaneously engages both the at least one first ramp surface and the at least one second ramp surface during movement of the plunger from a ready position to a plunged position.

Automated drug delivery systems and methods

Automated drug delivery systems and related methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, these systems can reduce or eliminate infusion inconsistencies. An exemplary system can include a syringe actuator which can be controlled via electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic means to precisely infuse and/or withdraw material from a patient.

Pen-type injector

The present invention relates to injectors, such as pen-type injectors, that provide for administration of medicinal products from a multidose-cartridge and permit a user to set the delivery dose. The injector may include a housing, a piston rod adapted to operate through the housing, a dose dial sleeve located between the housing and the piston rod, and a drive sleeve located between the dose dial sleeve and the piston rod. The dose dial sleeve may have a helical thread of first lead and the drive sleeve may have a helical groove of second lead. The first lead of the helical thread and the second lead of the helical groove may be the same.

Prefilled syringe training device with releaseably locking needle guard

Embodiments provided herein include a resettable injection training device having a body, a plunger slidable relative thereto, an injection simulation member and retractable and extendable shield, wherein the shield releasably locks in a retracted position prior to use. After use of the training device, the shield extends over the injection simulation member to prevent contact with the injection simulation member. Resetting of the slidable shield occurs by applying a force onto a distal end of the shield to retract the shield until a shield locking surface interacts with a locking surface on the body to maintain the shield in a retracted position. Release of the shield from a retracted position to an extended position may occur by moving the plunger toward a distal end of the body until a contact region at a proximal end of the plunger releases the shield locking surface from the body locking surface to release the shield.

MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE

A medicament delivery device is disclosed having a housing, an actuation mechanism capable of delivering doses of medicament from a medicament container and arranged with a delivery member, a shield, a guard movable within the housing, wherein the guard is operably connected to the actuation mechanism. A protective cap is releasably arranged on the housing and having a shield remover. A blocking element on the guard is movable between a blocking position and a release position and has an engagement surface to engage a proximal area of the housing. The blocking element engages with a surface of the shield remover to retain the blocking element in the blocking position. The engagement surface causes a blocking of the guard from movement and removal of the protective cap enables a movement of the blocking element to a release position when the engagement surface engages the proximal area allowing the member guard to move.

Drive-control system for an injection device

A drive-control system for an injection device for delivering settable doses of a pharmaceutical substance contained in a cartridge (3), the system comprising a tubular housing body (2) having a longitudinal axis (A-A), a proximal end (2a) and a distal end (2b) connectable to the cartridge enclosure (3), the system further comprising a helical spring (7) contained in the housing body and a piston rod (6) moveable towards said distal end (2b) and blocked in translation towards the proximal end (2a). The housing body (2) further contains (i) a control sleeve (10) on which the spring (7) is mounted, the control sleeve (10) being rotatable around the axis (A-A), and (ii) a setting sleeve (11) translatable along the axis (A-A), wherein rotation of the control sleeve (10) in a first direction combined with compression of the spring (7) causes the setting sleeve (11) to be translated towards the proximal end (2a) of the housing body (2), and extension of the spring (7) causes the setting sleeve (11) to be translated towards the distal end (2b) of the housing body (2) and the control sleeve (10) to be rotated in a second direction and the piston rod (6) to be pushed towards the outside of the housing body (2). An injection device comprising the drive-control system according to the invention.

Dosage limiting device

A dosage limiting device is includes an elongated connecting member that has a plunger receiving head at a first end for capturing a plunger flange of a plunger of a syringe. The plunger receiving head has a back flange connected to the elongated connecting member and a forward slotted flange connected to the elongated connecting member, the forward slotted flange is separated from the back flange by a space sufficient to accept the plunger flange and a flat section of the plunger fitting in a slot of the forward slotted flange. A barrel loop is at a distal second end of the elongated connecting member so that the dosage limiting device limits a dosage provided by the syringe based upon a distance between the plunger receiving head and the barrel loop as the barrel loop abuts a barrel flange of the syringe, thereby limiting extraction of the plunger.

HOUSING WITH SYRINGE HOLDING FEATURE

A securing device for an injection device which receives a syringe with a proximal end portion having a radially outwardly projecting flange, has a body with proximal and distal end portions, an opening for accepting the syringe, an outer surface, and a proximal end surface for contacting a distally-facing surface of the flange when the syringe is advanced distally, preventing further advancement. A securing arm includes a free end; a base end fixed to the outer surface; a first portion extending radially outwardly from the base end to permit the flange to pass; and a second portion extending radially inwardly in a rest position, contacting the flange as the syringe is advanced. The securing arm is elastically flexible to allow the free end to move radially outwardly, allowing the advancing flange to pass, and is biased to the rest position to secure the flange and the syringe against proximal movement.
