Emergency devices

Described herein are syringe devices comprising a syringe including a therapeutic dose of at least one drug to be used in a drug or substance overdose. Also provided herein are compositions and methods of treating opioid overdose using high dose naloxone.

VARIABLE DOSING SYRINGE

A syringe includes a dosage setter operatively coupled to a plunger rod and comprising a rotatable body that comprises a set of one or more stops for engaging the set of one or more protrusions of the plunger rod depending on at least a rotational position of the set of one or more stops relative to the set of one or more protrusions, wherein a first rotational adjustment associated with the dosage setter is configured to set a first dosage increment by adjusting a relative axial position between the rotatable body and the plunger rod, and a second rotational adjustment associated with the dosage setting assembly is configured to set a second dosage increment that is larger than the first dosage increment by adjusting a relative rotational alignment between the set of one or more stops and the set of one or more protrusions.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

A drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening and a drug storage container including a delivery member having an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening during a delivery state. The device may also include a guard moveably positioned adjacent to the opening and a plunger having a generally cylindrical body portion extending along a longitudinal axis of the container and at least one flange extending radially outwardly from the body portion, wherein the plunger is moveable toward the distal end of the container to expel a drug through the delivery member. The device may further include a plunger biasing member configured to urge the plunger toward the distal end of the container and a releaser member defining a guide configured to receive the at least one flange and an indicator configured to generate an audible signal indicating an end of drug delivery.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

A drug delivery device may include a housing having an opening and a drug storage container including a delivery member with an insertion end configured to extend at least partially through the opening. A biasing member may initially be retained in an energized state, and may be released to drive a plunger to expel a drug from the drug storage container. The plunger may be configured to selectively rotate from an initial rotational position to a second rotational position under a biasing force exerted by the biasing member, and translate linearly in a distal direction to drive the stopper through the drug storage container after rotating from the initial rotational position to the second rotational position. A releaser member may have an initial position wherein the releaser member retains the biasing member in the energized state, and a second position wherein the releaser member generates an audible end-of-dose signal.

A delivery system for medical and pharmaceutical compounds includes a container, a closure element, a supporting element and a penetration element. The container contains the compounds and has a closed container bottom and an open second end. The closure element makes fluid-tight contact with the inner wall of the container. The supporting element attaches to the closure element. The penetration element has a hollow needle and moves along the longitudinal axis of the container. The penetration element includes a first link motion portion, and the supporting element includes a second link motion portion. The first link motion portion has a guiding groove, and the second link motion portion has a projection. The hollow needle of the penetration element moves towards the container bottom and penetrates the closure element. The penetration element moves inside the supporting element towards the container bottom based on how the projection travels in the guiding groove.

INTEGRATED SYRINGE AND GUIDEWIRE SYSTEM

A syringe with an integrated guidewire tract. The tract provides a physical channel by which a guidewire is guided through the syringe structure. The syringe is configured to allow for a one-handed aspiration operation or injection operation, while freeing the other hand to move the guidewire through the guidewire tract of the syringe system.

DEVICES FOR INJECTING MEDICAMENTS AND METHODS OF USE

A device for injecting a medicament is provided. The device has a housing with a container within it which can hold a medicament. At its proximal end the container has a needle and a stopper. The device includes a plunger which at one end can engage the stopper. At the opposite end, the plunger can engage a first resilient member to move the stopper within the container to inject the medicament from the container. The device includes a collar with distal and proximal ends, the distal end engaging with a carriage and causing its rotation and the proximal end engaging with a second resilient member. The second resilient member can engage with a skin sensor which has distal and proximal ends. At the proximal end, the skin sensor can contact an injection site. The housing has a cap which can reduce or prevent movement of the skin sensor.

DOSE GUIDES FOR INJECTION SYRINGE

The present embodiments provide for simple devices that guide the loading and dispensing of accurate small doses of fluid from standard injection syringes.
