Drug Delivery Device
A drug delivery device for administering a drug is presented having a body, at least one electrical unit and a port for electrically contacting the electrical unit, an adapter for attaching an injection needle to the drug delivery device, a safety mechanism arranged to prevent contacting the electrical unit whilst an injection needle is in fluid communication with the drug delivery device and arranged to prevent establishing a fluid communication whilst the electrical unit is contactable.
Flow communication unit with preservative
An assembly includes a sealed drug reservoir unit, a subcutaneous flow conducting device in the form of a needle unit or an infusion set, and a flow communication unit. The flow communication unit includes a proximal hollow needle adapted to penetrate a needle-penetrable septum of the reservoir, a first flow-way inflow communication with the proximal needle and comprising a pressure-controlled valve, a second flow-way in flow communication with the first flow-way, an amount of preservative arranged to react with a substance received by the second flow-way, and distal flow communication structure adapted to provide flow communication between the second flow-way and the needle unit. The valve is controlled to open when the reservoir is pressurized, the preservative being provided to react with substances introduced to the second flow way via the needle unit.
Improved Flow Channel for Flow Rate Measurement
An improved flow sensor (104) is provided to enable accurate dose measurements to be made with little or no sensor calibration due to highly accurate flow channel cross section. The flow channel is formed as a metal tube (1301). A sensor window (1304) is formed in the side wall of the metal tube (1301), and the flow sensor (1200) is mounted in the sensor window. A flow manifold is formed around the metal flow channel.
Syringe adapter for medication
An improved apparatus for use with medication in a fluid form, which is particularly beneficial for medications having a relatively high viscosity. A disclosed syringe adapter has an opening that is relatively large, as compared to a conventional needle, and thus affixing the disclosed syringe adapter to a syringe improves syringeability of higher-viscosity medications. Some embodiments feature a lateral extension that prevents inserting the syringe adapter too far into a medicine bottle, and some embodiments feature a component that assists in firmly grasping. When the disclosed syringe adapter is affixed to a pistol-grip syringe or tab-handled syringe, the medication withdrawn into the pistol-grip syringe can be more easily administered a syringe barrel. In some embodiments, the syringe adapter will be replaced with a needle prior to injecting the medication, while in some other embodiments, the needle is affixed for the injection to the syringe adapter in place.
Applicator system and method for flowable compositions
Described are applicators having a plunger with a plunger body, and a tube having a receptacle end for insertion of the plunger, and a connector end formed of flexible plastic material having a bull-nose shape. As an example, the plunger body can include a viewing window. As another example, the connector end has an internal surface that is free of threaded connectors. The connector end can also have a snap-fit coupling design to couple to a snap-fit nozzle. The snap-fit nozzle can be connected to an adaptor cap or an administering tool of a metering dispenser.
Delivery adapter
A delivery adapter which may be used as an interface between a syringe and a catheter hub is described.
DRUG INJECTION CARTRIDGE AND DRUG INJECTOR COMPRISING SAME
The present invention relates to a drug injection cartridge and a drug injector comprising same, and has an anti-pushing part (100) formed between a needle part (10) and a cartridge (20), thereby preventing a rubber film from being expanded by pressure applied to the cartridge (20), such that a drug does not leak, and the accuracy of drug injection can be improved.
NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle assembly includes a needle, a rear needle cap and a front needle cap. The needle includes a needle hub and a needle shaft running through and attached to the needle hub. The shaft incorporates two sharp ends and an internal channel running through the entire length of the shaft. The needle hub includes a rear needle body and a front needle body. The rear needle cap is adapted to be attached to the rear needle body and the front needle cap is adapted to be attached to the front needle body. The front needle body incorporates a guiding channel and a locking receptacle connecting to and extending from the guiding channel in a needle detachment direction. The front needle cap includes an internal locking plug adapted to move along the guiding channel and be disposed inside the locking receptacle. The front needle cap also incorporates a funnel lip.
SYSTEM FOR LYOPHILIZING, RECONSTITUTING, AND DELIVERING A MEDICATION, AND RELATED METHODS
A modular syringe assembly can include: a tubular syringe barrel having a proximal end and a distal end, the tubular syringe barrel defining a longitudinal axis; a plunger slidable within the tubular syringe barrel; and a cap assembly including a stopper portion and a Luer tip, the stopper portion receivable in the distal end of the tubular syringe barrel, the stopper portion defining a vent window. The cap assembly can be slidable within the tubular syringe barrel along the longitudinal axis between a sealed position where the vent window is covered by the tubular syringe barrel to prevent venting between the cap assembly and the tubular syringe barrel, and a vented position where the vent window forms a vent between the cap assembly and the tubular syringe barrel. Other features and methods are also described.
Pen needle exchange system
An electronic system (200) connectable to a medication delivery pen (4) and a needle assembly (2, 100), the electronic system (200) exchanging data regarding a medicament traveling from the medication delivery pen (4) to the needle assembly (2,100), the electronic system (200) comprising a hub (214) having a spike (216) that is configured to engage the medication delivery pen (4) and pierce a reservoir septum (6) of the medication delivery pen (4), a flow sensor (220) that is in fluid communication with the hub (214) to measure flow data of the medicament, one or more circuit boards (250, 260) electrically contacting the flow sensor (220) to process and transmit the flow data, the one or more circuit hoards (250, 260) include one or more fluid path holes (256, 264) to route a flow of medicament, and a septum (270, 284) that is configured to provide fluid communication between the flow sensor (220) and one of a plurality of needles (40, 124) of the needle assembly (2, 100) to administer the medicament to a patient.
