NEURAL ELECTRODE BASED ON THREE-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURE OF FLEXIBLE SUBSTRATE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
One embodiment of the present invention provides a flexible neural electrode having improved adherence to an object by using a three-dimensional structure. A neural electrode based on the three-dimensional structure of a flexible substrate, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a first polymer layer, which is formed from a polymer material, is flexible, and functions as a base; at least one photoresist part, which is formed on one portion of the surface of the first polymer layer and forms a three-dimensional structure; a second polymer layer which is formed on the photoresist part and the rest of the surface of the first polymer layer, and which comprises protrusion parts caused by the photoresist part; a metal thin film layer formed by patterning a metal thin film on the surface of the second polymer layer and the surface of the protrusion parts; and a third polymer layer which is formed on the surface of the second polymer layer and the metal thin film layer so as to function as a covering, and which comprises measurement holes formed so that one portion of the metal thin film layer formed at the ends of the protrusion parts is exposed to the outside.
Electronic structures on swollen hydrogels
This document describes a conformable substrate that includes a hydrogel having adhesion-promoting moieties, said adhesion-promoting moieties comprising one or more catechol groups. The conformable substrate includes an array of microelectrodes bonded to the hydrogel by the adhesion-promoting moieties via the one or more catechol groups. This document also describes a method for transfer printing of an electronic structure to a hydrogel. The method includes the steps of coating a donor substrate with a film of polyacrylic acid, crosslinking the film of polyacrylic acid in a solution comprising divalent ions, patterning a microelectrode array onto the crosslinked film of polyacrylic acid, laminating an adhesive hydrogel substrate onto the donor substrate coated by the crosslinked film of polyacrylic acid comprising the patterned microelectrode array, and separating the crosslinked film of polyacrylic acid from the donor substrate in a monovalent solution.

The present disclosure relates to a method for increasing an amount of air and/or oxygen passing through an airway of an individual, reducing airway restrictions in an individual, increasing airway patency and/or maintaining airway patency in an individual, decreasing snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, or a combination thereof, in an individual. The method may comprise stimulating at least four regions of the individual's neck, where two of the at least four regions of the individual's neck are anterior triangle regions on opposing sides of the individual's midline, and another two of the at least four regions of the individual's neck are anterior triangle regions on opposing sides of the individual's midline, posterior to the two of the at least four regions. The present disclosure also discusses related devices and systems.
Systems and methods for peripheral nerve stimulation to treat tremor
A peripheral nerve stimulator can be used to stimulate a peripheral nerve to treat essential tremor, Parkinsonian tremor, and other forms of tremor. The stimulator can have electrodes that are placed circumferentially around the patient's wrist or arm. Specific nerves in the wrist or arm can be targeted by appropriate spacing of the electrodes. Positioning the electrodes on generally opposing sides of the target nerve can result in improved stimulation of the nerve. The stimulation pattern may alternate between the nerves. Improved stimulation algorithms can incorporate tremor feedback, external data, predictive adaptation, and long-term monitoring data.
