Retention mechanism for an implantable lead
Retention devices for use with an implantable medical device (IMD) are disclosed. An illustrative retention device may comprise an elongate body including a hollow lumen configured to receive a lead of the IMD and an outer surface configured to receive a suture. The retention device may also include a securing mechanism configured to push against tissue of a patient.
Implantable Electrode Lead for a Curved Implantation Path
An implantable electrode lead having proximal and distal ends, comprising an electrode lead body and a pulling element. The pulling element has first and second ends. At the first end, the pulling element is connected to the distal end of the electrode lead or in the vicinity of the electrode lead distal end; referred to as the distal region of the electrode lead. Proceeding from the joining site between the first end of the pulling element and the electrode lead, the pulling element extends from the first end thereof toward the second end thereof to the proximal end of the electrode lead. The pulling element, proceeding from the joining site, extends outside the electrode lead body. A tensile force exerted onto the second end of the pulling element exerts a bending moment onto the electrode lead distal region. This bending moment results in bending of the electrode lead distal region.
Termination of a shield within an implantable medical lead
A shield located within an implantable medical lead may be terminated in various ways at a metal connector. The shield may be terminated by various joints including butt, scarf, lap, or other joints between insulation layers surrounding the lead and an insulation extension. The shield may terminate with a physical and electrical connection to a single metal connector. The shield may terminate with a physical and electrical connection by passing between an overlapping pair of inner and outer metal connectors. The metal connectors may include features such as teeth or threads that penetrate the insulation layers of the lead. The shield may terminate with a physical and electrical connection by exiting a jacket of a lead adjacent to a metal connector and lapping onto the metal connector.
In situ implantation accessory for an autonomous intracardiac capsule
An implantation accessory for an intracardiac capsule includes a catheter with a catheter body and a tubular protection tip disposed at a distal end of the catheter body. The tubular protection tip includes a flexible portion disposed between a base portion structured to couple the tubular protection tip to the catheter body and a cylindrical portion structured to house the intracardiac capsule.
Systems and methods for implanting a medical device
In at least one embodiment, a system and method for implanting an implantable medical device (IMD) within a patient may include an IMD including a housing and an attachment member, and a delivery catheter including a tethering snare that is configured to be selectively extended out of the delivery catheter and retracted into the delivery catheter. In at least one embodiment, a system and method for implanting an implantable medical device (IMD) within a patient may include an IMD including a housing and an attachment member, wherein the attachment member includes a central passage connected to a connection chamber, and a delivery catheter including first and second tethers that may be moved outwardly from and retracted into the delivery catheter.
IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL SYSTEM
A system includes a lead with a balloon, wherein the lead defines an inflation lumen in fluid communication with the balloon. The system further includes an implantable medical device with a housing defining a fastener opening and a lead lumen. The lead lumen is configured to receive a proximal portion of the lead. The system further includes a fastener defining a fastener lumen. The fastener is configured to engage the fastener opening and the proximal portion of the lead to retain the proximal portion within the lead lumen. The fastener lumen is in fluid communication with the lead lumen and the inflation lumen, such that a pump in fluid communication with the fastener lumen inflates the balloon when the proximal portion of the lead is within the lead lumen.
Locally distributed keyword detection
In one aspect, a playback device includes a command-keyword engine having a local natural language unit (NLU). The playback device detects, via the command-keyword engine, a first command keyword in voice input of sound detected by one or more microphones of the playback device. The playback device determines whether the sound input data includes a keyword from a first predetermined library of keywords via a local natural language unit (NLU). The playback device transmits the input sound data to a second playback device over a local area network, the second playback device employing a second local NLU with a second predetermined library of keywords. The playback device receives a response from the second playback device and performs an action based on an intent determined by at least one of the first NLU or the second NLU according to the keywords in the voice input.
SUTURELESS ANCHORING MODULE AND METHOD FOR FIXING THE MODULE IN A PATIENT
A sutureless anchoring module for implanting medical devices in the body of a patient, comprising a main housing head provided with a housing to receive the device, a secondary closing head having two unidirectional locking holes, a first tie attached to the main housing head and that passes inside and locks in one of said unidirectional locking holes to fix said device and a second tie attached to the main housing head and that passes inside and locks in the other of the unidirectional locking holes, to hold on to a part of the patient's body. A method of implantation of said anchoring module is also provided.
Transcoronary sinus pacing of posteroseptal left ventricular base
Systems and methods for cardiac pacing are provided, where a pacing lead is placed at or near the bundle of His. A method for pacing a heart of a patient comprises: introducing a sheath to vasculature of the patient; steering the sheath within a coronary sinus in the heart to lodge a distal end of the sheath to a target location proximal to the bundle of His above a septum separating a left ventricle and a right ventricle of the heart; advancing a pacing lead through a lumen of the sheath to the target location; coupling the pacing lead to cardiac tissue at the target location; removing the sheath; and electrically pacing the bundle of His using the pacing lead.
Ultrasound Guidance Assembly and System
A pacemaker lead-guide catheter kit and system having anatomical target detection and distance measurement capabilities that aid in more precise lead implantation. The kit and system comprises a guide catheter and a lead, either or both of which include at least one ultrasound transducer that is used to more precisely implant the lead. The guide catheter may include an optical viewing assembly or window capable of displaying indicia on a portion of the guide catheter, pacing lead, or other medical apparatus. The optical viewing assembly is configured to display or transmit an image of the indicia which represents a distance from an end of the guide catheter or an end of a lead to the anatomical target. Additionally, the optical viewing assembly and indicia enables a Cardiologist to determine the location and/or depth of penetration of the lead.
