METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TREATMENT OF NEUROPATHY
Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for evaluation, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of peripheral neuropathies.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR TREATING CANCER BY SPLANCHNIC NERVE STIMULATION
Methods, implantable devices, and systems for treating a cancer or inhibiting cancer growth or recurrence in a subject are described herein. Such methods can include electrically stimulating a thoracic splanchnic nerve (such as a greater splanchnic nerve) of the subject with a plurality of electrical pulses emitted from one or more electrodes m electrical communication with the splanchnic nerve, wherein the plurality of electrical pulses triggers one or more action potentials in the splanchnic nerve to increase circulating natural killer (NK) cells in the subject. An implantable device may include one or more electrodes configured to be in electrical communication with a thoracic splanchnic nerve of a subject with cancer, and be configured to operate the one or more electrodes to electrically stimulate the splanchnic nerve with a plurality of electrical pulses that triggers one or more action potentials in the splanchnic nerve that increase circulating NK cells.
Trial stimulation systems
A trial stimulation system includes a trial electrical stimulator. Additionally, systems for securing a disposable trial stimulator to the body of a patient are described, which may function to improve the durability of the system during the trial period and reduce the risk of damage or malfunction to the system due to lead/electrode dislocation and/or off-label uses like showering or bathing with the trial stimulator still secured to the body.
Systems and methods for treatment of cancer using alternating electric field generation
Various embodiments of a system and method for the treatment of brain cancer using a subdurally-implanted alternating electric field generation apparatus are disclosed herein.
Telemetry communication system for an implantable medical device
The invention relates to a telemetry communication system for an implantable medical device (1) comprising a radiofrequency transceiver, comprising: a remote controller (2) adapted to be used by a patient into whom said medical device (1) is implanted, said remote controller comprising a radiofrequency transceiver configured to communicate with said implantable medical device in a first frequency band (RF1), the transceiver of the remote controller (2) being paired with the transceiver of the implantable medical device (1), a programming device (3) said implantable medical device adapted to be used by a practitioner, comprising a user interface (30), and configured to communicate with the remote controller (2) through a wire connection or a wireless connection in a second frequency band (RF2) different from the first frequency band, the programming device (3) being configured to, when said connection is established between the remote controller (2) and the programming device (3), establish a communication between the implantable medical device and the programming device through the remote controller.
Spinal cord stimulator system
A wireless charger system for inductively charging a rechargeable battery of an implantable pulse generator (IPG) implanted in a human body is provided. A charging coil in the charger is wirelessly coupled to a receiving coil of the IPG to charge the rechargeable battery. An end-of-charge (EOC) circuit continuously monitors the reflected impedance from a reflected impedance sensor and determines the end of charge when a predetermined pattern of the reflected impedance corresponding to an EOC signal from the IPG is received. Advantageously, receiving the EOC signal through the charging coil eliminates the need to provide a separate communication circuit in the IPG that communicates with the charger.
Non-invasive nerve stimulation with mobile device
Devices, systems and methods for treating various disorders and medical conditions through noninvasive stimulation of a nerve. A system comprises a stimulator including an electrode configured to contact an outer skin surface of a patient and an energy source coupled to the housing, The energy source generates an electrical impulse and the stimulator transmits the electrical impulse from the electrode transcutaneously through an outer skin surface of the patient to a selected nerve within the patient. The system further includes an application on a mobile device that receives data from a remote source. The mobile device couples to the stimulator and the application causes the mobile device to transmit the data to the stimulator.
Adaptation of Neurostimulation Therapy to Age-Related Physiological Changes
Disclosed is a method of adapting the operation of an implantable device for delivering neurostimulation therapy to a patient. The method comprises: delivering the neurostimulation therapy to electrically excitable tissue of the patient according to at least one therapy parameter; measuring a physiological characteristic of the patient; adjusting the at least one therapy parameter according to a schedule of adjustment and the measured physiological characteristic; and repeating the delivering, measuring, and adjusting.
Electrode position detection
Devices, systems, and techniques are disclosed for determining spatial relationships between electrodes implanted within a patient. In one example, a medical device delivers, via a first electrode, an electrical stimulus and senses, for each other electrode, a respective electrical signal indicative of the electrical stimulus. The medical device determines, for each other electrode, a respective value for each respective electrical signal. The medical device determines, based on the respective values for each respective electrical signal and values of tissue conductivity of tissues of the patient interposed between the first electrode and the other electrodes, spatial relationships between the first electrode and each other electrode of the plurality of electrodes.
Combination hearing aid and cochlear implant system
Cochlear implant systems can comprise a cochlear implant system comprising a cochlear electrode, a stimulator, an input source, and an implantable battery and/or communication module. The signal processor may be programmed with a transfer function and be configured to receive input signals from the input source and output a stimulation signal to the stimulator based on the received input signals with the transfer function. The system may be configured to receive a status indicator signal indicative of whether an external auditory aid device is active and update the transfer function of the signal processor if the external auditory aid device is active. For example, the signal processor can operate programmed with a first transfer function if the external auditory aid device is not active and with a second transfer function if the external auditory aid device is active.
