Arterial Blood Gas Syringe
The arterial blood module including an arterial blood collection element defining a collection chamber, and an arterial blood module removably connectable to a portion of the arterial blood collection element. The arterial blood module includes a hub body, a needle extending from the hub body, and a safety shield engaged with a portion of the hub body and transitionable from a first shield position in which a portion of the needle is exposed to a second shield position in which the needle is shielded by a portion of the safety shield. The arterial blood module also includes a venting chamber, wherein the venting is in fluid communication with the hub body to vent air bubbles from a collected blood sample within the collection chamber of the arterial blood collection element.
Syringe with multifunctional plunger handle
A medical syringe useful for administering an injection or withdrawing a bodily fluid, the syringe comprising a barrel, plunger assembly and a needle assembly having a selectively retractable needle, the plunger assembly further comprising a plunger handle with a plunger seal and a front tip extending forwardly of the plunger seal to extend through the barrel and into the an annular fluid seal disposed in a recess between the barrel and a forwardly projecting needle, thereby reducing dead space inside the syringe and helping anchor the annular fluid seal inside the recess.
Intravenous catheter insertion and blood sample devices and method of use
A catheter insertion device includes a handle, a needle, a guide wire, and a catheter. The handle may have a proximal region and a distal region. The distal region may include a slot between a top extension and a bottom extension, which extends through a distal end. The needle may have a proximal end positioned in the proximal region and a distal end extending from the distal region. The guide wire may have a proximal end positioned in the proximal region of the handle and a distal end positioned in a lumen of the needle. The catheter may be positioned coaxially over the needle with a proximal end connected to a catheter hub. The catheter hub may be slidably disposed in the slot to enable movement from a first position in the distal region to a second position distal of the distal region.
