BI-SPRING SURGICAL IMPACT TOOL
20220142693 · 2022-05-12 ·

Disclosed herein are bi-spring surgical impact tools and methods of use thereof. The bi-spring surgical impact tools can include a housing, a shuttle, a pinion, and first and second springs. The housing can define a cavity having a first end and a second end. The shuttle can be located within the cavity and define a plurality of indentations. The pinion can be located proximate the shuttle and have a plurality of protrusions sized to mesh with the plurality of indentations during rotation of the pinion. The first and second springs can be mechanically coupled to the housing and the shuttle. Rotation of the pinion in a first direction can translate the shuttle in a first direction towards the first end of the housing and rotation of the pinion in a second direction can translate the shuttle in a second direction towards the second end of the housing.

Systems and tools for positioning workpieces with surgical robots

A tool for positioning a workpiece with a surgical robot. The tool comprises a mount adapted to attach to the surgical robot. A first assembly is provided and extends along an axis. A pivot bearing is coupled to the mount and supports the first assembly for rotation and translation about the axis and for at least partial articulation relative to the mount. A second assembly is provided and comprises an interface adapted to attach to the workpiece. One of the first assembly and the second assembly comprises a coupler and the other of the first assembly and the second assembly comprises a receiver shaped to engage the coupler to align the second assembly and the first assembly along the axis.

SURGICAL TOOL AND FIXATION DEVICES

The present invention comprises a device and system for delivering implantable bodies for anchoring human tissue and bony anatomy. The system may comprise a housing with a handle, an advancement mechanism, a hollow shaft, and a plurality of implant bodies. The present invention also describes a fixation device, such as a dart, staple, screw, or rivet so that the housing includes a handle comprising a lever or trigger for advancing implants, and optionally comprising a second lever or trigger for a second operation. The surgical device may also include an impacting mechanism and a manual advancing mechanism for advancing an elongated body into and through bone, with an optionally reverse setting which changes the direction to retract the elongated body. The invention further includes methods for using the surgical device.

Instrument for attaching to a bone anchor and instrument for use in distraction and/or retraction, in particular for orthopedic surgery or neurosurgery, more specifically for spinal surgery

An instrument configured to attach to a bone anchoring element during surgery includes an elongate portion and an end portion having a first side and an opposite second side, where the elongate portion extends away from the first side, and where an opening is defined at the second side to accommodate at least a portion of a head of the bone anchoring element. The opening of the end portion has a first section sized to permit insertion and removal of the head therethrough, and a second section forming a seat for the head. When the head is held in the seat, the seat prevents removal of the head through the opening, while the head is movable unobstructedly from the second section back towards the first section.

Orthopedic impactor attachment

The present invention relates to a portable medical drill impact attachment device. The device can be used for improving the accuracy and reliability of orthopedic surgeries and procedures by obviating a manual device such as a hammer for creating an impact. The attachment device is used for creating impact forces that can be transferred onto a bone, disc, joint, etc. The device features a housing that includes a rotary motion transformer and an impact mechanism assembly. The attachment transforms the rotational motion of a drill into reciprocal motion, and also enables a user to adjust and control the frequency and energy of the impact. An impactor tool can be detachably-attached to a quick-change tool gripper for providing an impact on a bone, disc or joint of a patient without applying any manual force.

ADAPTOR FOR ROBOTICALLY- GUIDED HIP CUP IMPACTION

An impaction adaptor connectable to a surgical drill and a surgical impactor can include a body comprising a proximal portion defining a body bore and including a first plurality of projections; and a distal portion connected to the proximal portion and insertable into the surgical impactor; a shaft located at least partially within the body bore and engageable with the surgical drill to be driven to rotate within the body bore; and a driving body located at least partially within the body bore and secured to the shaft, the driving body including a plurality of second projections rotatably engageable with the first projections to cause translation of the driving body relative to the body to deliver an impaction force to the surgical impactor in response to rotation of the shaft.

DUAL-PURPOSE ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY INSTRUMENT
20230139058 · 2023-05-04 ·

The dual-purpose orthopedic instrument includes an elongated body, an impactor block formed from a first end of the elongated body selectively couplable with a modular impactor head and a strike block formed from a second end of the elongated body including a strike surface for selectively receiving a strike force thereof. An externally accessible channel formed within the elongated body has a size and shape for pass-through reception and select retention of an extractor rod therein. As such, the elongated body is usable as a modular impactor when the impactor block is selectively coupled with the impactor head and as a weight of a slap hammer when selectively coupled with the extractor rod in slidable relation relative thereto.

TRI-ROLL THREAD ELECTRIC SURGICAL IMPACT TOOL
20220240998 · 2022-08-04 ·

Disclosed herein are surgical impact tools and methods of use thereof. The surgical impact tools can include a roller assembly, an impact structure, and a tool holder. The roller assembly can be connected to a motor and include a plurality of rollers supported by a respective roller arm. The impact structure can define a spring and an impact cavity including forward and reverse impact surfaces. The impact structure can include a wall comprising a plurality of thread elements connected to the wall and engageable with the roller assembly. Each of the thread elements can include a pair of helical end surfaces and a pair of axially extending surfaces that are engaged by the plurality of rollers. During use rotation of the roller assembly against the helical ends of the thread elements can cause axial movement of the impact structure to apply a load on the spring and generate impact forces.
