Vertebral joint implants and delivery tools
A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.
MODULAR SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A modular surgical instrument for knocking out or implanting a prosthesis that defines a prosthesis axis and which has a prosthesis neck includes a tool head with a passthrough for accommodating the prosthesis neck, a locking device for locking the mounted prosthesis neck, and a chuck, which has an axis for transferring a clamping force for the locking device. The passthrough and the chuck are arranged on opposite ends of the tool head relative to a lengthwise direction defined by the axis of the chuck, wherein the passthrough defines a passthrough axis which coincides substantially with the prosthesis neck axis when the prosthesis neck is locked in place. The axis of the chuck is at a distance from a plane defined by the lengthwise direction and the passthrough axis and/or is at a distance from a passthrough lengthwise axis that extends in the lengthwise direction and through the passthrough.
FACET JOINT IMPLANTS AND DELIVERY TOOLS
A spinal joint distraction system is disclosed and may include a delivery device, a driver assembly, and an internal actuator, where the driver assembly is adapted to be hold an implant and be sleevably inserted into the delivery device and the internal actuator is adapted to advance an implant distractor to distract the implant, the system also including an implant, a chisel, an injector, a gripping tool, and a dilator set. Several embodiments of an implant are disclosed as well a method of placing an implant.
EXPANDABLE INTERVERTEBRAL CAGE
A method and system for performing bone fusion and/or securing one or more bones, such as adjacent vertebra, are disclosed.
RADIOLUCENT TRIAL
Spinal implant trials are provided having various configurations and sizes that aid the selection of spinal implants having similar configurations and sizes. A surgeon during surgery can insert various configurations and sizes of the spinal implant trials into a disc space between two adjacent vertebral bodies of a patient to enable the selection of a spinal implant configured and sized to fit the patient's disc space. Fluoroscopic images can be used in aiding the selection of an appropriately configured and sized spinal implant corresponding to one of the spinal implant trials. The spinal implant trials include features that reveal on the fluoroscopic images whether the spinal implant trials are properly located and oriented in the disc space and include features corresponding to different sizes of spinal implants also revealed on the fluoroscopic images.

As such, the selection of the configuration and size of the spinal implants can be made after it is determined that the spinal implant trials are properly oriented and positioned within the disc space.
Intervertebral Implant With Integrated Fixation
A system for spinal surgery includes a prosthesis comprising a plurality of bone anchors which engage an intervertebral construct for fusion or motion preservation. The fusion construct comprises a spacer optionally encircled by a jacket. The motion preservation construct may comprise an articulating disc assembly or an elastomeric disc assembly. Any of the constructs may occupy the intervertebral disc space between adjacent vertebrae after removal of an intervertebral disc. The anchors slidingly engage the construct to securely fix the prosthesis to the vertebrae. The anchors and jacket of the fusion construct provide a continuous load path across opposite sides of the prosthesis so as to resist antagonistic motions of the spine.
