Tibial prosthetic component for a partial or unicondylar bearing knee replacement, method of selecting such a tibial prosthetic component, method of implanting such a tibial prosthetic component and a kit for a surgeon

The invention concerns a tibial prosthetic component comprising a plate (100) for forming a tibial plateau of a tibia (16), wherein a peripheral region of the plate (100) has a thickness of less than 3 mm. The invention also concerns a tibial prosthetic component having a keel of depth less than 9 mm. The invention also concerns a method of selecting a tibial prosthetic component comprising receiving measurements of at least one physical attribute of an individual into whom the tibial prosthetic component is to be implanted, selecting a thickness of a plate (100) and depth of keel of the tibial prosthetic component based on the measurements and providing a tibial prosthetic component comprising a plate (100) having the selected thickness and a keel having the selected depth. The invention may also comprise implanting a tibial prosthetic component selected in accordance with this method into an individual and a kit comprising a plurality of prosthetic components comprising plates having different thicknesses with keels of different depths.

EXPANDABLE SPINAL IMPLANT SYSTEM WITH A BIASED TIP AND METHOD OF USING SAME

An expandable spinal implant includes a distal projection extending from only one side of the implant, ending in an anterior tip, the anterior portion and anterior tip defining an elongated distal end hook, which is wider than the proximal end. The distal end hook rotates around the spinal cord, aligning the implant with a desired pathway, then inserts into place in the disc space between the vertebrae. The elongated widened distal end hook provides a TLIF approach, distributes loads, provides anterior rim engagement, and creates lordosis.

Expandable intervertebral cage

A method and system for performing bone fusion and/or securing one or more bones, such as adjacent vertebra, are disclosed.

Intervertebral implant with integrated fixation

A system for spinal surgery includes a prosthesis comprising a plurality of bone anchors which engage an intervertebral construct for fusion or motion preservation. The fusion construct comprises a spacer optionally encircled by a jacket. The motion preservation construct may comprise an articulating disc assembly or an elastomeric disc assembly. Any of the constructs may occupy the intervertebral disc space between adjacent vertebrae after removal of an intervertebral disc. The anchors slidingly engage the construct to securely fix the prosthesis to the vertebrae. The anchors and jacket of the fusion construct provide a continuous load path across opposite sides of the prosthesis so as to resist antagonistic motions of the spine.

An expandable implant includes an upper main support of bone, a lower main support coupled to the upper main support, the lower main support comprising a first coupling feature and a second coupling feature being substantially parallel to the first coupling feature, and a control assembly configured to control relative movement between the upper main support and the lower main support, the control assembly including a first control member configured to engage the upper main support and the lower main support and interface with the first coupling feature a second control member configured to engage the upper main support and the lower main support and interface with the second coupling feature, and a control shaft configured to be received by the first control member and the second control member, wherein manipulation of the control shaft causes relative movement between the upper main support and the lower main support.

Vertebral joint implants and delivery tools

A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.

Magnetic Devices for Reducing Loading Across Cartilaginous Joints

Methods of reducing loading across a cartilaginous joint, or of reducing pain in a cartilaginous joint caused by cartilage damage in the joint. The methods involve implanting one or more magnetic devices in the bones, or affixing one or more magnetic devices onto the surface of the bones, that form the joint. For example, to reduce loading or reduce pain in a knee joint, one or more magnetic devices maybe implanted in the femur and in the tibia. The magnetic devices are oriented to generate a repulsive magnetic force between the one or more magnetic devices of each of the bones forming the joint.
